I've had 2 bizarre tech trade offers. In one case, the aliens offered to trade me a tech, in another they wanted to trade for one of my techs. In both cases, everything else that could be on the com panel (our techs, planets, ships...) were not present... and there was nothing on the other side of the table. I accepted both times, but could not figure out if I actually traded anything -- well, I did get the tech that was being offered. If I try to load a game from the opening menu, I

Dang... time to download 50 more mods! :) I really really want a *more events* racial pick / game setting, heh heh ~SDC~
I sign on, and poof, there's a new version, so some of my comments are a bit out of date, but here's my list :) General Stuff a) I'd like to see some carryover in the missions. Some tech, some planetary development, some ships -- even though I might lose my favorite survey ship in mission 3 ;) For example, for each scenario set the starting tech at one level, and the maximum allowed techs at a later level. This opens the door to a new mission, one where everyone h
conquering the galaxy is always good... well, maybe I should say fun, but I do try to peacefully ensl... create an umbrella of brotherhood and understanding among all the species of the galaxy. :HOT: ~SDC~
As something of a galactic conquering connesewer, I hafta say Stars is extremely different from GalCiv. Heck, I don't recall any of this "diplomacy" stuff in Stars atall! :p ~SDC~
They remind me of Space Eels from some other game I can't recall ;) Except the Space Eels would, occasionally, breed. If they did it early on, it could get quite interesting, heh. Just need a planet sized source of Aspic for the Eels... whatever that is! ~SDC~
Shucks, I was hoping for a time shunt relay, allowing data to be sent from the future! Oh wait... I bet my current computer can't run GalCiv 2 anyways. Oops! :D ~SDC~
Hey damoose, is your preferred title "Fuhrer"? I just want to make sure that you're proposing the Nazi version of ethics. Further, there's no reason to believe that the survival of the human species is dependent on your government. There are no absolute ethics, there are always exceptions. I find a certain justice, however, in judging a species by its own criteria. That must mean it's damoose season! Unless I feel like playing an ornery game, I prefer to play ethically. I
Sounds like it's time for... the Dr. Pepper Squad to move against Sirian! Death to the Pepsi Slave! LOL Coffee can be ok, although when I'm done preparing it, I guess it's really warm, brown half n half. ;) ~SDC~
When a transport goes into orbit, the combat thralls are released for a little R & R. When conquering someone culturally, having some empty Combat Transports allows you to easily ferry troops away, either to a juicy planet or into combat. Oh... max pop is 100000, although you can temporarily overload that. Alas, billions died, before I noticed the excess perished... Should have sold them to the druuge. :HOT: ~SDC~
I just got my Commode with my 20th game, so my 100 grand did not speed up my plan to DESTROY Y... cough cough, I mean, my Ascension to Power. Yessss... not long now... :d ~SDC~
I wish the "lucky" special ability did that, but it does not. Actually, it may decrease events slightly, since it does help prevent "bad" events. UP meetings happen at a set length, I forget what that is. Would be nice if a scenario editor could change that, hint hint ;-) ~SDC~
Let's see, I'm Good aligned right now, so... Lemon squares for Stardock for a job being done right well! :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: ~SDC~
Nah, this was one of the diplomatic events which cause "Die Humans!" Corvettes to appear. I love those cute little Die Humans! corvettes, but this is the only time I ever saw such a vast horde. Dang, I shoulda taken a screenie! LOL ~SDC~
I believe both espionage and destabilization depend on total spending. In one of my recent games, I spent a modest amount of destabilization for several years on the most power AI, the Yor. I forgot to turn it off, and beat everyone else up. Just when I was feeling ready to turn on the Yor, they had a diplomatic event which turned them to war. :SURPRISED: I believe all the stored destabilization funds came out in Corvettes. There were purple dots all over the entire Med
1) with sufficiently advanced technology, they can become humans! 2) Being culturally dominated means they practically worship those they convert to as gods, as superior beings. 3) Cosmopolitan societies, those which embrace mixtures of folks, have been very successful. ~SDC~
I'm running out of bugs to report. ;-) If I move the GCLoader -- I wanted more of a full moon, well, full earth, effect -- I noticed that if I click and drag it by a letter, it flickers and jumps around, as opposed to click-drag anywhere else. Hey, it would be neat if the loader remembered where I put it, or moved around a bit LOL ~SDC~ [Message Edited]
I want some Rabid resources... there's something for the scenario editor, custom resources. Rabid Resource: +5% speed -- Rabid go fast fast woot! -5% diplomacy -- foam in mouth, scares people :CONGRAT: ~SDC~
Options to, basically, remove minors seem to be in the works. In the long run, minors just don't work, and there's no way to make them work without a heck of a lot of work, programming wise, and there's lots of other cool stuff to do for AP. Ah well... I just want the map/scenario/campaign editors to have enough flexibility to drive a good story, muhahahah! ~SDC~
all the title I need is "Rabid" ;p ~SDC~
the time to save a game goes up quite a bit, so if you have autosave on for every turn... well, that's the biggest time eater right there ~SDC~
I like it, this feature makes Maso a very different game! woot! :CONGRAT: well, and they have overwhelming influence at the start, heh
I think that happened to me once... There's an "Ultra Warp" event which speeds everything up, as well as an UP vote which can speed up Constructors. Throw in all the +speed techs, and good old Gravity Accelerators, you can really burn the rocket fuel! I don't think it affected my Terror Stars though :D
oh cr*p! :SURPRISED: er, didn't mean to do that :sniff!: now the server really hates!
oh no, I broke it (:( WinCustomize forums are ok. Copy a sample URL and get the same error in IE: http://www.galciv.com/browser/msgboard.asp?BID=GF&id=130419 :notsure: Hmm, maybe the server just don't like me anymore. Any suggestions muchly appeciated!
