Drag race anyone

I've got my Stardust solar forced injected constructor upto 19 parsecs/month.

My next best is a star fighter at 13 parsecs/month

And this is with out any speed picks or speed mods..

OK. I'll bite and ask the question... How? ;)

I think that happened to me once... There's an "Ultra Warp" event which speeds everything up, as well as an UP vote which can speed up Constructors. Throw in all the +speed techs, and good old Gravity Accelerators, you can really burn the rocket fuel!

I don't think it affected my Terror Stars though :D

Oh, yeah... with all those speed bonuses, the only thing that could outspeed them was my excalibur! And then it was only by two parsecs, I believe.

Well finished the game and the constructors ender up at 21 parsecs/month
never built any excalibur this game, I had the tech though so i can't compair.

Damoose--> I believe it was the UN proposition to speed up constructors.. I voted against it but others went for the 7 parsec/month as the base for all constuctors. They just got faster from then on as i got more techs.

Speed is one UP issue I never disagree with. Makes resource hijacking safer and easier when some poor alien loses a resource. And there are other uses for speedy constructors as well. Throw in Eyes of the Universe with a decent UP speed boost, and it can become a ship faster than a scout to lead the enemy on a merry chase while getting all that sector data. Fast enough to stay alive to thread its way through hostile space later to fulfill its primary mission and build bases deep behind enemy lines. Especially good for a range-strapped fleet to follow on later, if the base can hold out, that is, so hide it well. This event is great in an early game situation where range and speed are still major factors in any warfare that may erupt.
