The fastest way to move the main screen is by dragging it with the mouse: You press and hold the left mouse button somewhere on the main map and move the mouse - voila!

The "guard" command only tells your ship not to be focussed until an enemy ship comes into its sensor range AFAIK. Thus no, it's not what you want, that's what orbital fleet managers are for exclusively.
I guess you got the Paradox distributed version? In this case you might want to have a look here ( Link ) because it might solve your issue.

You can use the "destroy" button or press "Del" to disband ships (you will even get a little money back). You can set shipyards to produce "Nothing". (Note that shipyards keep producing the same type of ship until cancelled by default IIRC.)
It's intentional and cannot be disabled AFAIK.
Use the "build" button for constructors or simply press "b".
+ AI puts more priority into colony ship speed over colony ship range. + AI Heavy fighters now have more focus speed than range in their designs. + AI at "bright" or higher intelligence will make guesses (simulated intuition) as to whether a path is safe for a transport *experimental* + Drop down
HOMM5. Was I looking forward to it? You bet. DId it look ike a winner? I think so. Am I going to buy it. No way... Same for me. I removed that Starforce crap having played "D-Day" a bit (a friend of mine gave it to me, it wouldn't run on his machine) and I won't buy Heroes of Starforce V for this reason. I'

"One of the best games ever?" - Yes!
No, I don't.
I have to say I never use the side scrolling in Gal Civ. Same for me - side scrolling seems so "last century" now.
Yes, auto-moving sometimes doesn't take the shortest way to a given target. That's why I don't trust it when things are important. (Btw, your picture can only be seen when logged in at Apolyton.)
Note that all "special" invasions don't affect the planet in case the invasion fails: Planet quality isn't reduced, no improvements are destroyed and so on. I guess that adding the number back to the population is another aspect of the same "feature". (Yes, it's intentional AFAIK - even though it is unrealistic and exploitable.)
Trade (along with a couple of other techs) isn't available in the first campaign missions.
Very good review, the only caveats are: Tech tree is a bit dull at times (which is not that untrue), and no multiplayer (again).
I hope that good sales figures will improve the chance of a real multiplayer function to be added.
Good to hear you're surrounded by great folks. It's that kind of "location factor" that makes (or breaks) things.
Congrats Stardock! It's not like every TBS game could have done this - it had to be a really good one! I don't agree on one thing though: Incidentally, the other PC game on the list is also a strategy game. It
Thanks for your elaborate report, Burianek, it was a very interesting read! I agree with most (if not all) what you say, especially that there's a lot of strategic depth in the game that cannot be seen at the first glance. And I imagine that new players can feel a bit hard-pressed at first by all the decisions you can make in the game. I'd like to tell them: Don't give up, it'll be worth it! <img src="smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0 ALIG
A very interesting article, I especially like the last part: Transparency is key. Be open and honest with people and MOST people will respect that. Tell people what problems you think you have and what problems you think you don't have and let people decide for themselves. Don't try to "control" the flow of information. Stay ahead of the curve and make sure y
My sincere condolences, Dearmad!
Link Very positive in general, although the guy is talking crap at some points.
Has this change been implemented since the last beta (ie in the gama version)? Yes. (defensive only pact)
