Very positive in general, although the guy is talking crap at some points.

Very entertaining read. And good marks too, though he is talking crap about the zooming when the renders are replaced by icons. This is one of the great new features, yet he doesn't see it.

Thanks for the link.

Well, the review is certainly nice but I was kinda concerned about the specialization thing... I mean I love to specialize myself when I ply sucha game. I just hope it won't be too tough...

It did have a positive flow. With some criticizing here and there. My review on his review: This reviewer has lots of potential. He writes about the were the games most prominant part (The AI) in nice detail, but he seems to leave out key feautures that I don't recall him talking about watching, such as the ability to watch your ships in combat, and he should probably be lentched(spl) for not mentioning the great metavarse. I also don't really agree with him on the graphics are up to "par" with other strategy games. While never played the game, but from thev screen shots the graphics look sexy ( except for the planet improvement screen, but hey don't ask me how to make it look more appealling), and I'v never felt that way towards graphics ever before. He ended giving the game a 90 I'm guessing out of 100. I was a little surprised that he gave the game that low of a score even though he enjoyed the game, expecting more of a 92, and felt that his neg. on the game didn't justify a 90. So I give this reviewer a 84 out of 100.

You can tell that this reviewer spent quite a bit of time with the game. Always a good sign.

So many stickyes around that I did not see this one and double posted this one, we shall let that one die quietly

It was a good review all in all, there are always lows and downs with reviewers. And I certainly can“t call myself unbiased as a fanatic GC2 fan, I probably cant even see the games flaws

One thing I hope to see is that some sites will review the game little later, few patches can always do miracles to a game

I wonder: if Stardock just put a big button on the start screen that said "Multiplayer", and faked together a realistic-looking server and some random bot chat, what would be the overall improvement in review scores? Would they just find something else to complain about, or would they proclaim it the best game ever?

I think the reviewer's loss in the game he mentioned was not due to his own specializing as much as failing to respond to an influence campaign waged by his neighbour. Similarly, if you completely ignore military might to focus on trade and diplomacy, you'll be seen as an easy mark. So yeah, overspecializing can be dangerous, but as long as you don't completely ignore every other aspect of the game you should be able to concentrate mostly on one of them.

Very positive review overall, can't wait to finish the download. ^^

Hmm, I actually think this guy just played the Gamma, not the final review build... I'm going to follow up with them

Generally I skim reviews and take in only a line here or there but I stopped when I came to this as the first line

"A great strategy title proving that solid gameplay and a little innovation can go a long, long way."

shows to me that it was positive.

Good enough for me

With so many improvements it is surprising to see that the original game's Achilles heel remains: no multiplayer.

I think Frogboy convinced us on the forums however, reviewers are a different matter. I disagree with the reviewer. I don't see it as a flaw at all.

I really haven't seen enough demand from fans to warrant it to be honest.
