In the next week or two (depending on marketing scheduling) we have a new build of GalCiv II coming along
He didn't tell on which planet these "weeks" take place. [e digicons];P[/e]

Any news on when we can put our greedy little hands on your latest tweaks? "This week" (Nov 11) apparently didn't work. I'm thinking about nice GC2 gaming for the weekend, so it would be good to know. Thanks!
The Galactic Core doesn't seem to work anymore, so I'll post here: I'm sorry that I have to say this, but there won't be a contribution on my part for Team C this round. I had a game running which looked like it would work for the Cultural Victory, but then I was derailed by two mega events in a row, resulting in a loss of several planets to one of these independent movements and a substantial loss of cultural influence as well. I won't be at home for three weeks to come, so I don't have the
What's up with the Galactic Core? Has the site been abandoned?
Just to leave a note: I'm still a little mad at myself for forgetting to submit my round 10 contribution in time (I just did it now, just for the sake of it), but I'd take part in another round in a rather large variety of settings. I'd prefer not to have a setup with 100+ planets though.
Damn it! I forgot to submit my game which was finished long time ago! [e digicons]8C[/e]
I've got a question about this empire, since you guys are called the Galactic Diplomats, does that al of your wins have to be political victories or something?
Not at all, all victory types are equally welcome.
Nah, I fail to see a general movement away from the Diplomats and will stay faithful. There have been better times and there will be better times. You, on the other hand, will all regret your evil deeds one day. ;p
The Diplomats don't die, they just *uhm* take breaks from time to time. :D
Yep, it takes time and a little luck. Just kill what you can in the meantime, it will probably increase your chances because (1) you will gain strength and become a more attractive ally and (2) you help them survive which they might appreciate as well.
I got a question that's just pure MV related. Any tech rate beyond Normal seems to rest back to Normal next time I go to the game setup screen.
Yes, it's quite annoying. Fortunately it stays put for using Ctrl-N (just checked that again), and interestingly it's not a problem for non-MV games.
Note to Team C: I started a round 10 thread over at the Galactic Core in our team subforum.
I opened a thread at the ToE Forums but then I noticed that there seems to be a more active Team C forum at the Galactic Core. Could someone send me the password for it by PM please?
Works fine, thank you.
Yay, yet another forum account... I signed up there and confirmed it with the link sent by email. The next step is up to you I guess.
Where can I find the forum/thread of Team C? Do I need a password or such?
Great, count me in then! Unless Team C objects, of course.
I would, if it's not too late. :) I'd play at Crippling for a start if that's okay, Maso if necessary.
I'd say that it's also about applying some pressure to the tax negotiations (what a word!). And my guess would be that there's a number of smaller companies in the immediate vicinity of said software giant. ;)
I thought about joining (might be too late for this round?), but there's the problem that I'm not familiar enough with the current state of GC2 to play at my average difficulty level Obscene under all settings. Do I have to or is it just a recommendation?
pndrev, you misunderstood me. And quite frankly I almost have to wonder how that could happen. I was referring to difference in difficulty, not scoring, and my final sentence was that "there isn't much reason not to choose Suicidal". I didn't think it was worth mentioning that games on higher difficulty score more as I assumed that was clear to everyone.
This is also my first win on suicidal difficulty, so a double huzzah to me for that
Congratulations! As others have noted though, the difficulty setting doesn't make much difference in ZYWs because the AI barely has the time to use the advantages. So there isn't much reason not to choose Suicidal. ;)
Try it with spore ships.
I thought about the same thing. One question though, what do you really need in order to be able to build Spore ships
Did another ZYW, this time with ARCed Altarians: Super Breeders, Korx home system, +20 research, +1 speed, +1 sensors, Technologists. The result: 31500 in a large galaxy - could be better I guess.
Thanks for the warm welcome. I just found out about the ARC stuff, this should make ZYW wins even smoother and easier on the larger map types.
Up you go, thread! My first submissions for over a year are reason enough. Two zero year wins for the Diplomats!
