Yarlen is there a way for those of us that do purchase GCII via TGN subscription and Stardock Central to get the bonus items? I'm interested in a response as well, already sent a similar question to [email protected] some hours ago. (Contrary to Darth Griffin I'm obviously not a Gamma tester though.)
e-stab
In another words Brad you want us to get gamers hopelessly addicted to civ games like we are. I couldn't do that to my friends. Trade good: GalCiv II Production, Research & Pop. Growth -25% (...must...play...one...more...turn...) Morale +100% only available to evil race
I've had some weird things with Beta "upgrades" too. The last one was a multimedia upgrade in 3 seconds from some low version number all the way up to 1.0.039 - with no visible change. Fortunately I never had stability issues. I think I'll delete everything related to GalCiv II before installing the final version, won't take the risk.
It's a matter of food production. You can see the current food production (in mt/wk) for each planet in the planet screens. 1 mt/wk is enough to sustain 1b people - that's it! Edit: I just realize that your question has already been answered in one of the other entitites of this thread. Well, never mind.
1, 4 and 5 are right, I think. 2: One exception: your rule only applies when all ships had full hit points before combat. 3: The targets in combat are determined by their attack value, current strength and defense value, I think. So adding functional modules like weapons to the ship can affect this chance, purely graphical things won't. 6: I think it's possible to know a race that nobody else knows, but this
You should take a look at the available demo of GalCiv I, this might tell you more than a thousand fanboy words. But be aware that GalCiv II will be (even) a lot better than part I from what I've experienced in the beta.
Thanks for the response, I read the manual but probably not thoroughly enough. Glad to see it's not intended to work the way I feared. @ jakanc & Fuels Chief: Thanks for the show of support!
Escort missions, protect the item, etc.:Yuck. Blow up and kill things: Good. I know what you're talking about... It already made me quit playing a game because some to-be-protected item always managed to be blown up, regardless of what I did. It's a bit similar with scenarios where you have a hard time constraint: I'm always glad when I'm done with
Looks great! Don't worry - I think most of us will enjoy all that text a lot. My all-time favourite of GalCiv still is the Drengin suggesting to meet for dinner... But I already laughed out loud when I first saw the opening dialog of the Thalan: "Brothersss, Sssistersss,...".
Just remember, we got over an hour of soundtrack this time (Compared to about 10 minutes in GalCiv I). There's a lot of music in the final version. Sounds good! The music in GalCiv I got boring too fast.
Are these new smilies "lemon heads" or something? I think you just gave them their name! *runs back on topic* Good luck for the last week until going gold!
i wonder if they will fix the "AI starts out with all techs anyone else has researched" thing Agree to 100%! I hate it when your tech advantage is given for free to a minor civ popping out somewhere. Maybe they should only get the techs everybody else has, they are a minor civ, not the new tech guru, right?
How diifficult is it to make an interface. It's only graphics. Hilarious! You do know what you're talking about, right? I'm a bit disappointed myself that the nice feature of different UIs for alignments won't be in the release, but I understand that there are more important things
Ctrl-R instantly gives you the tech currently researched, Ctrl-M gives $10,000, Ctrl-T teleports the selected unit to the mouse cursor position (found these by accident in Beta 0.81). Some other combinations resulted in a CtD though... Would be nice to have an "official" list.
Based upon my experience with GalCiv I and the last Beta, I'd like to make a suggestion. Please implement one more feature in the options menu: There already are checkboxes for "build starbase", "upgrade starbase" and "harvest resource" (which toggle the confirmation dialogs on and off), it would be nice to have another one for "confirm upgrade price" (or similar) that allows to toggle the dialog saying "installing the x module will cost y money, do yo
That might be tricky since the huge excess of power might allow to kill the ennemy ship: the attacker rolls a random number between 1 and the total attack value of the kind of weapon. So you get more chance to hit (defender rolling below) and inflict more damages (difference between attacker roll and defender roll). I'm not sure to have understood you
I played GalCiv I almost from the beginning and had a lot of fun with it. Yesterday I had a look at the last beta after a break of half a year or so and I must say: I'm really impressed and can only second the notion of "this can't go gold soon enough!". Unfortunately I didn't and don't have enough time helping with the beta, otherwise I'd have done so. A big thank you goes to everyone who does. <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/gc2/smiles/Smi
