I could be wrong, but I believe I saw in a thread that the actual score is arrived at by taking the total score of all games played and dividing it by the square root of the total number of games played. Again, I can't swear by it, but when I tried this out, I came pretty close to my Metaverse score. ~SDC~

I only hit the submit button once and wait. It's taken anywhere from 5 seconds up to almost 30 seconds to send the info. It then drops back to the main menu. ~SDC~
Start off strong. Crank your military spending to 100%, and your Govt. spending to 100%, and keep cranking out colony ships from earth every 2 turns. Only load about 100 per ship to keep from stripping Earth's pop too much. In the first 20 turns you'll have 11 colony ships (from earth). Only colonize 1 planet per system, and work outside in, going further away first. You could have 10 systems colonized within 20 turns, with the 11th ship on it's way. In systems with multiple plan
Do you have room in your "orbit"? I know if your planet's orbit is full, it won't produce any more from that planet until you launch some. ~SDC~
I'll borrow from an oldie, but a goodie: Speak softly, but carry a BIG stick. Trade, sell, buy, and otherwise build relationships that further your goals, but always remember that if you are ever found to be weak, even your best friend will turn on you in a second. They don't follow the advice "Thou shalt not covet", but rather "The grass is always greener", namely, your grass! Always remember to have a large enough fleet to make any possible attack look painful for whoever a
I have a laptop with the following: P3 1Gz Intel 256mb RAM GeForce Go 32mb video I also had the problemes with frame rate in Morrowind. I had to turn down the graphic settings and lower the resolution ALOT to get a decent frame rate. Gal Civ runs great on my laptop, even with other programs (Stardock Central, browers, Free Agent) running in the background, so I can't imagine why you would have a problem. ~SDC~
I would also agree. ~SDC~
Yep, "String not found" here also. I don't see that updating on the fly feature. When I entered a price I wanted for a tech, I started low, which made it green. I started to raise the price to see if the color would change, and nothing, until I clicked on done, at which point it turned yellow. I am understanding the concept correctly, it's supposed to change "while" you're setting the price? Right? :notsure: ~SDC~
Ironhawk I don't believe it scales, as far as the definition you're using. I don't have a problem playing on larger galaxies, and actually enjoy it more. I just finished with a huge galaxy, abundant planets, and didn't have a problem. I was going for a research victory, and didn't once get into a war with anyone. I can see if you're more into a military victory, it would be much busier managing ship builds. As it was, I just built enough military to keep strong enough so
Never seen them turn down a "Green" offer yet. :) ~SDC~
I've not had this problem, so I can't speak from experience. Have you downloaded and installed the bonus pack and multimedia? I read before that some had done this, then hit refresh application data, and it took correctly. Others mentioned reinstalling Gal Civ, but I don't know if it would take that drastic of a step to correct. Sorry I can't help more on this. If I come across anything else, I'll let you know. Good Luck! ~SDC~
I had the same problem and had to enter my registration info again. In SDC, select "software", and right click on the "dregin.net" tab, selecting "edit account". If you only purchased Gal Civ and not Dregin.net, select that from the drop down box. Enter your account info and serial number, and click on "register". After you do this it should update SDC and list the latest versions. If not, try to click on "Tools-Refresh Application Data". Hope this works for ya! ;) ~SDC~
He won't set an asking price. You'll have to offer to buy something for a certain price, and see how it looks. Click on what you want to trade away, then click on what you want from their side. If the description of the offer at the bottom of the trade screen is printed in yellow, it's not a very good deal, and they probably won't accept. Keep lowering the price until it turns green, then you have a good offer, and they'll most likely accept. Hope this helps. ~SDC~
I built up a Terror Star and loaded it up with all the culture improvements including the Party Palace. I took that on a tour of Dregin controlled space and without having to fire one shot, all (except one) of their systems rebeled and join the Terrans. Of course, not to be left out, the Alterians had to get something out of it, and raced up to capture that last Dregin system. Naturally with my Terror "Party" Star parked next door, that planet saw the light a few turns later! LOL
I couldn't see the updates either, but just had to enter my serial # again, and it seems to be keeping it. Didn't have a problem after that. Even if it didn't keep it, I don't see what the hassle is. If that's all I have to do to get almost daily updates, it's a bargain!! Keep up the great work, and don't let a few grumbles wear you down. ~SDC~
You won't get the alliance victory until you and your Allies are all that's left. You have to totally knock out the other races who are not part of your alliance. I've had 2 alliance victories, and both times it read 100% while we knocked out the last race, then ended when they lost their last planet. ~SDC~
DOH! That did it. Thanks! LOL
Am I missing something? The discussions (topics) here in the forum are not showing up on SD Central. I started noticing this after the last update (not the newest one today). ???? :notsure:
I've run across a few small items, only two of which occurs to me now. 1. I had ended and restarted a game, and when I restarted, my trade routes were still listed from my previous game. I had not restarted Gal Civ, but just went back to main menu and started a new empire. I wasn't receiving money from the routes, and when I would research a tech which gave me an additional route, say #3, the route previously listed under #3 (from the previous game) would disappear, allowing me to
As far as I know, you need to be connected online at the time the game ends to submit. ~SDC~
Ibbby I was in the same boat as you are, and magically it started working. I can't say exactly why. I had registered with Metaverse at least 8 times, and double checked my info on the submission screen prior. The exact steps I took when it finally worked were: Tried to register on Metaverse by taking the dashes out of the serial number (didn't recognize my serial) Tried to use "l" instead of "i" in the serial number (didn't recognize it either) Tried it with the corr
I never thought of that, but wouldn't it be nice if you could! The picture fades out to the shot of a Drengin attack fleet frozen in one spot and unable to move, while the entire Terran Armada "zips" around out of range to conquer the Drengin Empire!! LOL ~SDC~
Check your production sliders and make sure one isn't turned down. If you raise one up, the others will lower. ~SDC~
400%?!? Cool!! I'll have to try that. See if I can get my trade increases up to that level! :D ~SDC~
Nirvana Yes, it's annoying to say the least, but you can profit from it. Just load them off into transports and sell them for tribute to another civ. I only worry about morale when it comes right before an election, and I always have a few combat transports standing by to off load extra folks and raise morale. You raise morale, keep control of the senate, and depending on how many transports you have, you may make an extra few hundred a month for the next 2 years until you do it agai
