LOL I am a New Zealander. I dont really know enough about the midwest (I live in Virginia, I think that is still "east") - I am guessing the Australian equivalent is Western Australia or maybe South Australia. The New Zealand grain belt is the Canterbury Plains in the South Island but comparatively that is probably the size of one of your backyards :)

Oh and I am actually playing but I only get in a couple of hours a night and my current gigantic game is dragging a little. Started up lasy night within about 3 turns everyone declared war on mr (sigh - pure evil) and it took a little while to get things stabilised again.
