The sneak attack option will only work though if you don't have neutral ground enforced, because if it is, all your ships get put on the border, very annoying. On a side note, how do you get another group to attack someone? Everytime I go to war, I want to ask other civs to join in. I go to the diplomacty screen, choose attack, but no one's ever in there, even if the two civs in question hate each other. Am I missing something?

Just be happy you don't have to build a separate colony ship for each type of planet like you had to in Master of Orion (I think it was 1, maybe 2 or both).
If you had taken off your shields, missle defense, and had a similar armor bonus to the Dreg's, would your attack rating have then been near 800? Or was that your 560 number?
I apologize if this has been brought up before, but it just seems liek all the AI's always use missles, which makes it easier insomuch that you only have to really research one defense. Do they become more varying on harder levels maybe?
Oh, ok. Thanks.
I'm rusty with my acronyms, what does "AAR" mean?
I think this is a better idea than your PSI corps idea, no offense, but I'm not sure anyways. At some point there's too much to worry about, and I think they're dangerously close to it as it is.
I only use them near my homeworld to increase trade revenue, and at the end if i need to reach worlds. I never put weapons on them though.
Umm, from the spot I started it took probably 4-5 game years, if not more. Mind you I had to start a war with the altarians just so I didn't get the influence victory. And that was with me pumping as much money into tech as possible.
No offense, but why do they need ot fix it? Just turn it off. They have more important bugs to deal with, IMO.
Just finished winning via tech. victory (I had already won by military, so I knew I could do it). While it was cool, it seemed liek you have to put a lot of time into it to acheive it. I just think it'd be easier to conquest or ally or influence them long before you can acheive godness.
Wow, it definitely sounds like a different game when you play larger maps. Playing small and tiny maps with rare H. planets, you're lucky to get 3 to start. I usually make one a ship builder, and one a tech. builder, because you have to research, so you can get soil enrichment, habitat improvement, and good offenses/defenses. Granted, I'm on Beginner too, but I'll probably move up again here soon. I like the small and tiny maps because it almost forces you to attack sooner than later, becase
Well, my guess is for question 1, as you get different beam weapons, they look different. Or perhaps it's the mass drivers instead of beams. As for question 2, no idea, sorry.
Well, I suppose if you bought each colony ship as cheap as possible, using one of the per month options you could build that many, but you'd be in debt in no time. Not sure how otherwise, unless he bought and built all factories and was just pumping them out.
I once had 4 lucky rangers pop up in one game. 2 to me, and one each to two of the other races.
I play on small or tiny right now, so you can get one, maybe two other planets initally, especially on rare habitible's, so I almost never worry about colony ships.
Not sure, but wouldn't having that much on "credit" hurt your end game score? Just curious, otherwise it makes perfect sense.
I've seen it happen, I've done it once or twice, but not much it seems lately. The AI keeps nullifying them before my spies can even get info on the other races.

Lucky, did you try it again?
Yah, as far as I know. It's an older video card from probably 2-4 yrs back when I bought my Dell, so it might not be up to snuff. I want to change it, but I can't really get better without buying a new computer at this point. I can play and it's not real annoying, just wish it wasn't there.
Lucky, as kyro said above, go into stardock, select Tools, then settings, then internet, then Refresh xml data, and it should show up after that.
Well, I'm nto sure if this is the FOW bug or something else, but I just installed the .072 update, and the "issue" I had before didn't go away. If you look at the minimap, there's an area that's a different shade of gray from the fog of war. It extends from the middle top corner about 3/4's of teh way to the left corner, and about half way towards the right corner, and an arc to contect the two ends. I can see thru it, but it never goes away and it is kind of annoying. Is this the FOW bug, o
Thanks kryo, that worked.
Yah, when I opened SDC it updated SDC, and now I just went in again, still reads .068.
