I would simply try to end the war with the Torians, and then try to get them to ally with you. That should end the game, right?

This is pretty good. I just find it funny that the Dregnin are keeping time based on the Terran calendar.
I used to probably buy 4-6 games a year, now I usually buy 1 or 2 if that. Why? Well, the big reason is because most everything out now is just a better looking re-hash of an old idea. Also, like others have said, I don't want to have to buy a new computer every year to keep up with specs. Finally, and this to me is the kicker, I don't have time to play the games anymore. They all seem to be these long, drawn out games that require hours upon hours to play. I just don't have that time with
First off, what;s wrong with bombing enemy planets late in the game? It can only hurt your score if that's what you care about. There's been a couple times where late in the game, taking on more planets, especially lesser ones, would kill my economy, so once I captured it, I'd take everyone off the planet and destroy it.
Did you Ctrl-N at all at the start of the game? At least before the patches, people seemed to agree that doing that reset the intelligence of all the AI's, and you may have gotten unlucky.
I turn tech trading off. Not so much because I can't trade with the AI, but because it seems the AI has little qualms sharing with all the other AI's. It may have changed, I've been so busy I've updated to the latest beta but haven't had time to try it.
Well, I came up with a way of dealing with it, at least in my opinion. The only downside is instead of each weapon firing alone, all weapons of one type fire at once. However, to me it makes sense, though honestly I am not a master of the exact mechanics, so this may not work. However, I've decided to post it anyways, and take whatever ridcule I receive. Hopefully it helps the discussion. Let me know what you think, but please, be gentle on me ha ha. L1- Beam weapons ship 1 D1-
Then destroy the colonies as you get them.
Not a bad idea, but some of the req's are too constrictive. For example, to avoid #1, simply don't become a star federation. For #4, you could always be at war, or just declare war if you're having "issues" at home. For #2, you could drop taxes to 0% if your economy can handle it, thereby resetting the 4 week counter, rinse and repeat. To fix #1, have an increasing chance to rebel as you go farther down that chain. For #4, it could initally work, but as your people grow weary of war, it sto
Also, I've seen them recommend installing and running smart exception, I guess it helps them determine what may cause the problem.
No offense, but why is it always a problem when a Mega Event happens? That's the whole point of them, to change the gamne and make you have to change strategies. If you don't like them, turn them off. If you don't like that option, then stop playing and stop whining. This and pirates are always being complained about, get over it. Otherwise, stop playing and start programming your own game to play. Thus ends my rant for tonight.
I'm not positive, but that's either the wrong debug file, or you went back into the game first. That debug seems WAY too short for 3 hours of gametime assuming you played it all at once.
I have never had that happen. If it's such an issue, go down the tech tree route that allows you to buld centers that prevent spies and put them on the planets you deem most important.
Just curious, but when you archive the program, where is it stored?
I like teh Arceans and the Altarians. The Korx and Drath are ok. I play Terrans on occasion too.
When I hit it this morning, I was confused, but I figured someone hacked in and messed something up. But even still, I don't really care what the people who developed the software think politically. That's not why I bought the game, I bought it because they're good at making games. And as for Ann Coulter, I believe she tends to have the right train of thought, she just expresses herself in too controversial a way.
Did they change the game engine from 3 to 4? I tried 2, and I think 3, not sure, but I hated the game engine with a passion. Worst I've ever played.
Looks like the Terrans get the short end of the stick w/r/t Mars, huh?
Wow. I stink. You accomplished a tech victory in a tiny map in 1 year!! It takes me pretty much 9 yrs for any victory. I applaud you.
Have you tried just clicking right on top of the planet, and letting it autopilot to the planet?
I have to agree with tetleytea. Usually when I get an influence victory ,it's only because I dont' want to take the time to "clean up" so to speak. However, once or twice I've gotten it where I wasn't sure I could because my tech defenses didn't line up with the AI's weapons.
Well, you could also research all the Invasion techs, then try to sneak full blown transports in. You may have to try and entice or destroy some ships out of orbit. Then when you do invade, pick whatever will give you the best chance of winning, even if it means detroying most of the planet, as that isn't your concern at this point. I don't think they invade, so you only need to take the one planet.
While the upgrade part probably works, I have a problem with theupgrade system. It doesn't make sense that a ship anywhere in the galaxy, whether in orbit or deep in enemy space, can all of a sudden, upgrade into something new with new parts. I honestly think either there should somehow be a limitation that a ship can only be upgraded either in orbit, near a planet you control with a starbase, or not at all. JMO.
Starships repair themselves, but the speed depends on their location. They heal faster in orbit of a planet than out in space. You can take the repair attribute to start to speed it, as well as the micro repair bots galactic wonder. It's been said that starbases repair themselves very slowly, but I don't think it's much of an issue, as they don't ussually last more than one or two attacks. Just my opinion though.
I don't think I've ever used Ctrl-N, or restarted. Whatever I get I have to live with. I haven't played past challenging yet though, so maybe you have to have those to have a chance, I don't know.
