Hey all, just recently ordered this game and was enjoying it quite a bit (purchased via download); when I decided to take a break and check my e-mail. I got another order confirmation, unsure what to do, I checked my bank account.. and I was indeed charged twice. Not sure what happened there... I emailed the support folks also but just wanted to check if there was any way to cancel this second order before it goes through and makes my account over-drawn by about $2.00? Sorry for posti

To have an official alliance with another race, you must be in 'close' with relations to them. Not just friendly or warm. You really gotta kiss their arses for an extended amount of time to get an ally. (Though one time I just gave a race a couple of my outer systems that were on the outskirts, and hurting my economy more than helping, to the Arceans, and their relations jumped to warm to close in one sweep.) I don't know Danny, all the game I have won are because of Alliance Victory. The one time I've had a similar thing happen as you described (where you are allied with one race that is allied with a race you are at war with), The Altarians decided to backstab their other ally and continue the war with me. I haven't had an ally yet that has broken it's agreement. Just be careful to never choose a weak ally. The Arceans were my good friend the last game I played, and I would have allied with them, i

There should be some backlash for using the terror star. Doctahg, the situation you mentioned is a rarity, as it stands I go crazy, even when I'm pure good, destroying systems left and right with ease. It's like the Rebellion in star wars, seeing the Death Star, suddenly built their own and went to blow up Coruscant (THe Empire's Capital)... I think this tech should be shifted to the evil tech category, maybe with some sort of Happy Star (lol or something better named) that can be buil

Is it just me, or are they sort of anti-climatic once you get them? I was expecting some cool video or attack animation when I geared up to blow up a system. Or some backlash from the rest of the interstellar community. Instead all I get is some silly little sound effect and the system is gone. No feeling of sadness for whiping out a few billion people from me. LoL... I went a little crazy not feeling any moral obligation not to use them (I was pure good too) and destroyed a good 5-6 systems bef

I don't plan on using anything un-official (I've tried that on other games and after having to re-install thousands of times due to balancing issues and not remembering what I did, hehe, it gets tiring) If it's official I don't think it should count against you, but that terraforming one could certainly be seen as some kind of advantage? 9 consecutive games? lol, I have a hard enough time staying focused on all that is going on in one game, let alone 9. Fleabit, I salute you. :CONGRAT

I disagree about the Altarians, in the games I have played they have always been my strongest ally. Achieved an alliance with them every game, lots of trade, they continually visit me to give me gifts (even if crappy, its the thought that counts)... I constantly funnel my military hardware to them to keep their wars chugging along (until we ally, then I join in on the fun)They never backstab me and are always loyal to the end... Of course my alignment is almost always good also, so that probably

Well I got in, no idea how though.. lol. I chose to skip the initial account sign-up... and got into the area where I can see all the tool stuff and what not. No updates seen.. I'll try the earlier suggestions.. ::crosses fingers::

ahh, disregard me last post. I do remember doing that before I got gal-civ via this site. I did indeed go to the link. Just in case though, I created another account under my other e-mail after having both the game and stardock installed. I verfied it, and entered the information again.. same result.

Ahh.. I assume though that you assume that I have gotten into SDC to begin with, which I don't believe I have. When I use my link to it, I get a window "create stardock.net account." I enter the information requested (First Name, Last Name, Nick Name, E-mail, E-mail verify, password, password verify) then hit submit.. and get the message "Failed to update account information." I checked around the stardock folder on my C drive, and didn't find anything for tools.. so I assume it's done after you

LoL... you completely lost me there Star. What is this value box you speak of? I should say, not to be deterred by my lack of updates I played a quick small game to get a feel for it, and had quite a bit of fun. Everyone was on the lowest level, so I became the hands down trading leader with the Altarians, and as I was pumping out ships every few turns.. was funneling them down to their war effort against just about everyone. Lots of fun. :) just wish I could update it >:(

I can't for the life of me got on to Stardock Central. I already registered an account, made sure I had the most up to date version and all that. I enter my information, click submit, and after about 30 seconds get this message. "Failed to update account information." And then can not continue. How do I get this thing to work? I wanted to update my galciv game before I started playing... but now that doesn't seem likely.
