Yeah, luckily I saw the signs before I bought this game, and I decided to rent it instead. Now I'm up 50 bucks! The game had a good concept behind it, but the execution was flawed, not to mention the most horrible story Lucas has produced yet. This makes Episodes 1, 2, and 3 look awesome by comparison. 4/10

There's one thing that a lot of people don't realize about this issue, and that is that even if we find reasonable energy alternatives to slow or even halt our gasoline consumption, we will still be a long way off from oil independence. Ever heard of petroleum products? We use so much oil to make the things that build our vehicles, buildings, tools, the list goes on forever, and those are things that are even harder to replace than our energy source. Also, about using water as a fuel s

A slight side note, but I read about a group that set out to build an extremely gas-efficient car and met with great success, a small hybrid that reaches something like 200 miles per gallon. This car handles so different from all the fat-a$$3d cars on the market that you actually need a motorcycle license to legally drive it, but from what I understand they plan to commercially release a limited number in California as a sort of vehicle beta-test. Unfortunately, I have no idea w

I listen to metal and rock mostly. Notable bands include System of a Down, Dream Theater, and Keane. I also like movie/play scores, such as the LotR and Matrix scores. While the only wars I promote are those held against the Drengin, I will say that I would hope that these weapons overtake nuclear weapons because, like you mentioned, these weapons would deliver the destructive force without decades-long, widespread collateral damage from the nuclear fallout of a conventional nuke. But on the other hand, perhaps its a good thing that the superpowers are dissuaded to use WMD's by the fallout damage they cause; creating a weapon like this might be seen as removi

Nuts, the cannon was ineffective. I think we'll need to collect a sample of the Beast for analysis.
Are you crazy? The zoom is exactly the same whatever resolution you have. Let's check Sins of a solar empire or Supreme Commander if you don't believe me. You can see the whole battlefield in 1900x1200, 1600x1050,1024x768... this is not a question of hardware specifications but gameplay mechanics.
I don't think you understood what he's saying. Let's just assume that in game "X", the most comfortable viewing for the average person is 1 soldier = 1 centimeter long, tha

The argument goes that your territory is strictly limited to your planets and resources (which the other civs obviously don't touch unless they're invading), and that all space is neutral. The lines are merely where you have strong influence. The only inconsistencies with this are that civs WILL tell you to move your ships if you build up a fleet on their borders, and there is also a UP resolution that forces all ships to move out of enemy influence when a war is first declared. Both of these
It seems that, in order to preserve the "starcraft" feel, Blizzard will make almost no changes to the game, with the exception of new graphics (which look poor), and new units. It may seem more like an update than a sequel.
Can you blame them? Think of the other option: they could change it, but what happens if the new formula doesn't work very well? Starcraft has such a legacy to live up to, Blizzard is probably afraid to do anything else. Besides, that is a bi

It is a ground based RTS. I myself haven't played Civilizations, so I couldn't compare the two for you, but in a nutshell the game has a relatively simple resource economy (minerals and vespene gas), focuses more on managing these resources and deciding what units are best to invest in, and each of the three sides have very unique units, unlike some other games where the factions all have a basic infantry unit, a basic tank, etc with minor tweaks. In fact, that's one of the things the game is

Actually, the sensor cap effectively eliminates the sensor bonus (and with high research it will happen sooner rather than later), so the only lasting bonus for Technologists is their research bonus, dropping them to 4 racial points of worth.
