um...try building colony ships? i cant give you a specific answer cause your question wasnt very descriptive.

its still just the diplomacy screen, you have to give the minor civ enough value for them to trade. having higher diplomacy then them helps. also, they arent just for planets, they will still accept money or your own techs, again provided you supply enough value to them.
actually, communication is forseeably less and less of a problem. we are currently doing some quantum experimenting stuff that i dont know much about, but it basically says that any two given particles can be "linked" by a process called entanglement. This link would allow them to interact with eachother, and more importantly the stability of this link is not dependant upon distance, so theoretically they could interact across an infinite distance. now individually, we could not use this for
wow, ive never lost to a tech victory before (im still playing DL as well). were you sitting on your a$$ for a long time? In any case, doing what these other people said is a good idea. or, depending on how strong your research is, you could always just race them if they start going for tech victory. usually i have enough research capacity to outrace any other civ if they start going for it. just max your research slider, and as soon as they research a victory tech try and trade for
Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game and all its sequels (there are 7 books, 3 follow the character Ender, the other 4 follow a different character)
Well, I've only read about 3 of these so far, but this is definitely the best one I've read yet. Good work, keep it up. However, I must warn you: I'm an infamous procrastinator... Damn, you really meant that.
LOL
oooh I've heard of this problem, but I've never experienced it myself. I think it is just a problem with the graphics card or drivers or something.
lol, that blows. I think it would be cool if they had a system where you didnt lose for 20 turns or so, so you could be a pirate for a while. Or even a system where your civ could become totally indpendent of planets and become nomadic, with motherships carrying your population and producing your stuff.
To prevent revolting, build embassies and culture centers, they will increase your influence and push back the influence of other civs. Starbases only amplify what influence you have there, without at least 1 embassy, an influence starbase is pretty useless, as it will only be able to amplify your general civ bonus. Other things you can do is add a Loyalty bonus (racial trait only), this makes your people less susceptible to revolt, or (when you have researched the right techs) you can buil
Well, I dont have DA yet, because I'm poor. In DL, I play as one of three custom races I have made. But if I have to choose between the standard races, I would choose the Drath Legion, for their superior diplomacy skills, and their morale/economic bonus (which I view to be inherently the same thing because they are linked through taxes). They also have some good starting techs. Plus, I just like their style, the whole 'puppetmasters behind the scenes' strategy.
Moose is right, components are bigger on bigger ships. What miniaturization does is increase the total slots of a ship, thus allowing you to put more components on it.
Thanks, I will try that. Also, is there a way to upgrade a ship without moving it out of a fleet first? I think you can select the fleet and click "Manage" which should appear on the bottom of the screen to the right of the name. Then you can click individual ships within the fleet and click "upgrade" to the right. Note that the fleet can't move if one ship is upgrading. btw I don't have DA yet, but this works in DL.
Like I said, minor races are for nothing more then subjugation. Do it early, and do it fast. So you would say an alien culture should wipe us all now, before we get the chance to get more powerful? Well, the OP seemed to indicate that he wanted the planet, an
Foremost, I always see the same false dichotomy: One must accept science OR faith. This is quite simply ludicrous. I always see people who say something like "I was a Christian, but then I realized that science made sense, so now I'm an athiest", and then they go on to defend with this "Before we had the knowledge we have now, people used to say 'God makes things fall down', but now, through science, we know that it is gravity that makes things fall, so God doesn't exist." This is dumb, b
Well, the whole idea behind minor races is that you encounter a race that is much like humans (real humans) are now: we know a lot about space and weapons and such, but we are incapable of serious space travel. I like this idea, but this is just a personal thing i guess. Anyways from a gameplay perspective all minor races have 2 purposes: they tend to have a lot of techs you don't early in the game, and they have really nice planets which you need. Therefore, there is only one option
Ok, here's my take on it. There's this guy, called God, and he made us, who knows why? Doesn't matter. Anyways, God says "Hey guys! How's it going? Just wanted to introduce myself. By the way, I'm a good person, and if you're a good person, and you like other good people, you can come and party with me and my friends. It's free too!If not, then thats cool, I'm sure you'll find some place to be. Ok enjoy your life!" Then we, humans, get to live our lives, and in our lives we decide wheth
It would not have to be a very ambitious mod. Just add a morale bonus to the farms in PlanetImprovements.xml. It would not be Metaverse compatible, however. I think you missed the part about freighters having to carry food to other worlds and selling food as a resource. That would NOT be an easy mod. And if they DID just add a morale bonus to farms this would wipe out the entire economic strategy; more farms would mean your population could e
• First there's the morale problem: as approval ratings go down, so does income. This leaves me to either lower production capacity (one can only reluctantly scroll left so far), or heighten taxes to piss them off even more (dead end there). How come their morale spikes down from time to time with no warning? And it seems the less money I have, the more they hate me (great)... I think this is incorrect; low approval means lower POPULATION growt
I will make the name practical, such as "Fighter" or "Troopship" or "Destroyer", followed by a model designation, such as AM-1, where A is the first letter of my race name (Anarians in this case, custom race), M simply stands for model, and the number indicates the generation; this is the first design of this ship, when I go to upgrade that ship the upgrade will have AM-2, and so on. If I'm not being lazy and I want a fancier name, like "Dragon class Heavy Cruiser", I just put that in t
1-pretty well covered already, large military, trading, and gifts with another civ to get them to "close" relations, then you can ally. 2-you can't. however, I have noticed that those kinds of threats don't seem to have a large impact; if you have a competent military, don't worry about them at all. you can demand money or techs as tribute, if you have a high military. speaking of demanding tribute, one thing i do is right before i attack a minor civ, i will demand as much resourc
sharing what I think of heaven and hell: Heaven is a state of communion with God, Hell is the opposite, alienation from God. When we die, we simply choose how we wish to exist, with or without God, in heaven or in hell. God doesn't send people to hell for their sins, those people go to hell of their own free will, because they don't want to exist with God, and this is evidenced by their sinful nature. Likewise, for the righteous heaven is appealing and that is how they will inevitabl
