Find our thread on I-Mod, or here (use the search function at the top, its called "A Stargate Total Conversion mod"). After a few months of debate we had hammered out a pretty agreeable design for the mod.

I have only read Prelude to Foundation and Foundation's Edge, and from what i can tell you'd only have a handfull of 'races.' P.S. Thanks for ruining it for me mswaim! (About the robots on Earth)

Part II: Its Quiet, Too Quiet... June 1st, 2226, Bridge of the ECS PathFinder "Captain Rochek," Helmsmen Torek turned to his commanding officer, "we'll be within sensor range of the Arcadius system in a few minutes sir." "Excellent. Ensign Soaren, report status of any planets the moment we have sensor data." "Aye sir." Ensign Soaren responded. "Hopefully we'll find a few more places for someone to pitch a tent," Rochek smiled. "Sir!" It was

I believe that some of the threads that you speak of were started by strange and or sick individuals that want to start a huge fight, and they most often succeed. (i.e. the thread titled ".../or why god is nonesense", I forgot the first half ) I think the problem is that although there are many respectfull and intelligent people who participate in said arguments, there is always one or two peop

Part I: The Saga Begins December 31, 2224 Sereg-Thol looked towards the crowds, towards his 'subjects.' He sneered and shook his head at the thought. Dictatorships are a thing of the past! He screamed in his mind. Well, i'll just have to run this place so well they won't even need me anymore , he smiled to himself. He addressed the mass of citizens, using the look he gave to his students when they graduated the Endoran Military Academy. It was a look

Hello everyone! This is my first AAR, and i'm sorry to tell you that I don't have DA I didn't record the first few years of this galaxy very accurately, but nothing exciting happened, so your not missing anything. I'm going to take a story-like approach, but I'll explain what I'm doing if you are confused by my tactics, just ask. I'm not very good at GalCiv2, but I enjoy it.

Not bad, especially for having English as a second language. I've seen native English speakers with worse grammar than that, so no worries Next time add some more to it, like having the narrator be the all-knowing type that tells you what the characters are thinking. Perhaps opening with one of the ensigns thoughts, like: Why the hell am I sitting here staring down the jaws

Some of these 'survey the planet before colonizing' ideas remind me of an old RTS by the name of 1602 A.D. You had wait about 15 seconds to run a survey of an island (islands are like planets) to see what crops are best grown there, what mineral deposits there were, and if there were any natives living there. To eliminate the extreme tedium of such a system, perhaps you have to get within a certain fraction of your sensor range to do it? After all, if you have really powerfull sensors

@General Homsar: Psshhh, thats no fun! Also, Terrans have a Good Alignment. I don't think we should shift them all the way to Evil (or rather, I don't think anyone who decides to pick up this mod idea should). Anyway, I hope someone out there is listening Perhaps one of you savvy modders who know your

After watching a Science Channel special about the Earth getting hit by a comet, I had an idea. What would our future be like if that happened? According to the scientists, the initial dust cloud would linger for about two months, and temperatures would return to normal after 200 years or so. I figure humans would be more concerned with themselves then with others. We would have been trying to take care of number one for atleast 100 years before we could return to any kind of

You mean managing a colony rush, spying on your neighbors, plotting the fall of your enemies, conning other civs into doing your biding, managing an interstellar empire, and putting various plots into motion aren't entertaining enough? Boy are you tough to please...

I feel your pain LintMan, I wanted to add a 300% and 700% bonus tile for Econ and Influence bonus tiles. Mainly to make things even.

Mozarts Requiem, or Carmina Burana for me I also listen to some of the songs from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (Those Who Fight (Further), Black Water, and of course One Winged Angel) while I play.

The old testament is full of this: jahwe's tribe goes out and kills, pillages and rapes, all for the glory of god. some fine "values" that god instills in us there. If its full of it than you shouldn't have any trouble quoting a particular instance, hmmm? I don't remember God ever saying, 'Go destroy that village and rape their women and children, because it pleases me!' Probably because it never happened. Its the retarded and greedy ki

There was another typo back there, that comm log was set to 2030, the year is 2037... I would like to echo the praise other have given you, bravo my good man! I have also read Diary of a Terran Soldier, excellent work all around. I can only hope that the story I'm working on right now will be half as good.

If everyone had everything they ever wanted then we probably would not even have invented a word for war let alone know what it actually was. Humanity has limited needs, and infinite wants. I have long believed that humanity will never be united until an outside force (be it some kind of deity or an alien invasion) prompts it. Maybe I'm just a pessimist <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Tongue.gif" border=0 align="ab

delude yourself so you do not feel so small and insignifigant Actually, many religions promote humility. Infact Christianity teaches that we are no more than dirt. I contend that it is atheists who wish to not feel small and insignificant. If there is no higher power, then they have nothing to fear, no one to answer to, no one who is greater than themselves. You insist that if there is a creator, something must have created that creator.

If I hadn't burned through 70 hours of Twilight Princess (I'm a big fan of 100% completion) in two months, I probably would be. I do pull it out once and awhile to try a few more times to beat Roll Goal (damn you Roll Goal!), or find those last few Poe Souls, but not so much. Its not the system's fault I burned through the game so fast, or that I don't actually own any other games... If I had Call of Duty, or Wario Ware, or one of the other various titles, I'm positive

I have a feeling that PhantomPete and sushistrip have never modded GalCiv before, because your suggestions are impossible. If you had read this thread earlier you would know that Stargates and Supergates CANNOT be squeezed into the GalCiv universe. They just don't work. Race specific technologies aren't super hard to do, thus a race specific structure/InvasionTactic/trade good etc. is easy. But downgradeing farms, killing inhabitants when their are no farms, etc. is impossible. We d

By default, the Dread Lords (and thus the Ori in the mod) have all techs researched at start. That includes any techs modded into the game. I know this because I added some techs of my own to spice up the game (just techs that give minor boosts to your empire in various areas), and when I ran into the Dread Lords again I ended up stealing one of those custom techs from them in an invasion That

Oh thank God! Neilo, thank you for returning. I think the reason I was so pissed was because I was depending on you the most. I thought that of all the people who said they would help, or were interested, I could depend on you to stick around. But I think I can hang on awhile longer now that you've atleast gotten into I-Mod. Also, I'd still like to see other people join the team. So if you're interested swing over to I-Mod and PM me or check out the post in the Bulletin sec

Seeing as neilo's last message was over two weeks ago, i'm assuming he's hideing in a corner from a zombie invasion and cannot reach his computer, or he's dead in a ditch. Because I can't imagine what could have prevented him from takeing a grand total of 5 minutes out of his life to sign up at I-Mod and PM Stefan, telling him "Hi, I'm neilo from galciv2.com and a member of the Stargate mod team." Seriously, it takes me more time to eat a bowl of cereal, to take a crap, than it takes to do tha

How about a crystalline race? It doesn't even have to possess limbs, it could just be a big floating spikey ball of crystals (kinda like from an episode of ST:TNG that had crystal aliens that lived on a sandy planet), or they could be insectoid in appearance. Let your imagination run wild I think its great what your doing here, bravo!
