Rename your model to S#_Shipmodel.x - Whitestar.x would be renamed to S99_Whitestar.x S99_ is the designation to use if you want the ship to be available no matter the race you play. And don't forget the underscore between the ship number and the model name. Then you can copy the desired class of ship from the GC2Types.xml file, paste it at the end of the file before the last GC2 tag, and modify the ship name (if there is already a LargeHull0, LargeHull1, LargeHull2 - then chang

I think if the devs added some more audio options a lot of the choppyness would dissappear real quick. Right now most of the music is 160kbs mp3 files. Probably 44,100 sampling rate. If a lower quality audio option were added it would not tax the cpu nearly as much. And even though it would take more hard drive space, I would prefer straight PCM uncompressed .wav files. Then the cpu would not be called on for uncompressing the data first. This game is so cpu
I give planets to the minors sometimes. I like to protect them because they get beat on so much.
Nano Rippers is not a "Good" tech. It is in the normal stuff. Everyone can get it.
Well, I for one don't know what the heck everyone is complaining about. Saves (first, second, quick, you name it) take about a second. This version is the most stable I have seen so far. It is far more stable than other games I play, like Sim City 4. One little problem with Rangers coming out of the woodwork, which is probably on their back burner - understandably - is the only glitch I have seen so far. I just hope the fixes to these (other peoples - hehe) problems don't introduce mo
I am always Neutral. I just can't resist that NLC. By the time I have to actually build ships, I have the Doom Ray and usually one of the other weapons branches fully researched.
I'll take the research every time. If I have an economic or morale also that is good. My military is usually stronger than anyone's (once I build it) because of my stronger research, so I don't care about the military resource nearly as much. And the influence resource is nice to have around. But the faster you can research the better for everything. And a few econ starbases can do wonders for research and military production as well.
You were probably doing at least 80% of the research in the galaxy.
I never use trade ships, I let then send traders to me. I don't like spending the resources on them, when they always get destroyes in the first few turns of a war. I am always Neutral alignment, and I can ally with anyone. They do not have to be Neutral. Some races like certain types of gifts or trades better than others. So you will just have to try different things to get the relationship up to 'close'. As far as I know, the major races require a close relationship for a
That could be why I noticed a decent change. It was on a world with several NLC's and the Tech capital.
Just curious, but are you uninstalling the old drivers and rebooting before installing the new ones? Or just installing over the top? I use the 81.98 with a 6800GS with no problems.
How many other research buildings do you have. I have noticed some pretty good increases with it. But by that time I'll have a couple dozen NLC's also.
Try lowering the number of background stars and nebulas. I do not have the problem at all, and my background stars are set at 512. Some others have reported better results with fewer background stars set, as well.
Are you sure it is not with one of the minor races? I just tried it, and with the minor races you can ally when friendly. With the major races it was only with close.
Lots of people, high taxes, lots of stock markets, an loaded up economy resource or three, lots of economic starbases. I don't overly load up stuff, but I have not had a problem getting to 3000 or 4000 per turn. I have never seen 20,000 per turn though.
750 really is not all that much. Late in the game I will usually be pulling in around 1500-3000 per turn. Add more stock exchanges, it helps. And raise the taxes if you can do it and still keep a high approval rating. Mine are usually well over 50%, sometimes as high as 75%. It is usually only one or two plnets that will have a very low approval rating, and I just add a couple more entertainment centers to these so I can keep the overall taxes high. And I usually have between 95% and
Let's see. Your video and audio drivers are very old. You have very little ram, and probably not enough swap file. Your desktop is set to a different resolution than the game. So, update the sound and video drivers. Increase the swap file to at least 2GB. Set your desktop to 1024x768. Then try it again and see if it works better.
Ya, if you don't wipe them out early they get very nasty. They seem to have some good espianage skills, because they can upgrade weapons, defenses and logistics like crazy. I have seen them with 50-60 ships in a single fleet, with the attack and hitpoints in the thousands. It seemed that whenever i got to a new tech level, they were right there, only with more ships than I could get into my fleet even with the highest logistics techs. I have not seen them that powerful in a long while
Do you have the Bab 5 ships? The Battlecrab and Whitestar ships look great in battle.
So don't go for it so early.
What's so hard about hitting Control-n a few times?
I always get the Doom Ray just because of how it looks. Then I research at least one other complete line, usually the one not being used by the other races.
What do you mean, not in retail? I bought mine at Best Buy in a retail box. CompUSA also carries it.
Even though the Black Hole Gun mass driver is weaker, it is also smaller and cheaper by far. So 3 Black Hole Gun = 48 damage 18 size 300 cost 2 Doom Ray = 44 damage 20 size 300 cost 2 Black Hole Erupter = 50 damage 22 size 320 cost The smaller SizeMod on the missle may make it a better deal all the way around, especially on larger ships. But the mass driver is a better deal than the beam.
