Quick and autosave crashing in v1.1

Does anyone have the problem where when you try to quick save or the auto-save in v1.1 the game either freezes or crashes? It works fine in v1.0 but not in v1.1it'd be nice to figure it out so i can use the 1.1 upgrade. Any help would be appreciated it. Cheers

Try lowering the number of background stars and nebulas.
I do not have the problem at all, and my background stars are set at 512.
Some others have reported better results with fewer background stars set, as well.
