Whatever happened to this? I need some sleep already! At the very leasat the game should come with a surgeon general's warning.

Very Important!! Not all free virus scanners are virus scanners. In fact, most are viruses. The golden rule of computing: You get what you pay for. If you get a free scanner, it will work like a free scanner. Maybe that is enough for what you are doing, maybe not. Second rule of computing: Buy the right tool for the job you are doing. Norton makes some very good virus scanners and firewalls, but they are large and somewhat slow at times. Thats because they

Just for the record, I actually tried that fix Hollow Man and it did not resolve my issue. I had to change the base path in Impulse manually (the default was wrong) in order to get it to work. This pathing problem also prevented TALauncher from running the editors (the buttons were greyed out), caused some game content to not display correctly, and other small issues.

As a general rule, it is EXTREMELY bad manners to write a program that performs tasks without first asking permission or informing the user of what is about to happen. HP's 'I think I'll restart the computer now that I've updated, but I'm not going to tell you about it first!' might be one example. One great thing about Stardock is that that respect the wishes and rights of the end user to choose what happens on their very expensive computer systems. I would be VERY much again

Actually, I generally spend some money up front for spies and then get low espionage on the neighboring races. I then click their constructors, see where they are going, and beat them there. See? Problem solved. Use your opponents strengths as your own.

Oh! Ok, I see what you mean. Yes, they did adjust focus to be more wasteful so that players would be more inclined to actually use the buildings rather than go all factory or all lab or whatnot. The sliders themselves work the same as before I believe though.

When installing the TA expansion from Impulse, it chose to add a 'Stardock\TotalGaming\' path to the end of the path at which all of my other GCII stuff was installed. This had the effect of breaking some of the game's relative paths. I found that by uninstalling the whole thing and installing it all to the proper folder, my TA install worked much much better. So for those of you that are having images not showing up and 'string not found' errors: Try checking that GCII, DA

Check the OP date. It is certainly nice that they are so quick to respond isn't it? Gotta love Stardock!
I have to sadly echo the sentiments of a few others here. Software is never perfect you should expect some bugs on release time. but, although I love the new features of TA it seems like it really needed a month or two of extra development to iron out.
I think much of the problem lies in the huge amount of content and such changes that were made for the final release but no the beta. The point of a beta is to test all the things in the software to ensure there are no bug
I've always run in full screen. What are the disadvantages to running in windowed mode? Is it slower?
Actually, windowed mode is faster. You can tab in and out of the game with minimal delay. The only disadvantage is that you have to run it at your desktop size for it to look full screen. I don't know why you would do it any other way...

I can't believe this didn't get a response. Especially so considering it was one of the first 'its here' posts. I guess the title could have been more clear...
Question about Espionage Levels. In DL when I had cut back on espionage funding I would lower in level of intel on a race. However I have not seen this in DA or TA. Once I achieve Advanced on a race or whatever level and I either take off my spies or they get nullified I never seem to drop in level. Is this the way its suppose to be or have I not been playing long enough to see it drop.
Are you sure you dropped in espionage level? I don't think I've ever seen that happen

I've also offered the same suggestion a few times. As for your first suggestion, I think that is a great idea! Shrinking the range bonuses would make the game more interesting, give greater value to those starbases, make the galaxy feel even larger, and would not cost any additional memory on your pc. I second this one Stardock!

How do they survive the explosion? Everything else in the system is nuked. One has to wonder how a tiny laser beam can destroy a mobile station with enough power to blow up and star and the strength to withstand the resulting super nova.
Missed it the first (and second, and third) times through. What threw me off was the LONG list of free demos on the same page. And is that what they call an "intuitive interface"? Makes me wonder how the single men figure it out (intuition being a female forte supposedly). Still, they _could_ massively simplify the process for pre-order customers. Just one teenie, tiny email saying "Click here...." Anyway, thank you for the assist.
Seems like they are se

I miss my ridiculously fast internet connection. My new office is much nicer, but the speed dropped drastically. Have to see what I can do about that...
