Are you sure you have the release version and not the release candidate [rc]? Did you uninstall the beta and remove all beta folders before installing?
Also, not that big a deal to me, but if I alt - tab to my desktop while TA is running, when I go to click back on the game, all I see is a black screen. After a short time, I get this microsoft error CTD where i can send in an error report. I know someone else reported that too.
You need to run windowed mode. I was thinking how cool it would be if asencien victories could be turned off, but still have the crystals show up. One could then assend, and by doing so gain several bonuses. +20 Soldiering (invisible creatures of energy are hard to kill) +50 Range (energy beings have no need for air) All advance colonization techs gifted (Energy beings are far more resilient) +25 Research (Assension gives you a new perspective on the sciences) This wou
It may be that he chose not to make the repair and the starbase repaired itself by the time the next constructor got there. It of course would only be available if the starbase was damaged.
What Vinraith said.
Any chance we can get an official changelog for the TA release version? I'd love to see it available in Impulse and SDC. Thanks!
Well, it will re-download the whole thing if necessary but there is an easy way to back up your files. I don't know how you do it in Impulse (don't have it) but in Stardock Central you just right-click on the item you want to back up and there's an "Archive Application" option. It creates a single file that you can then burn to a CD/DVD, if you wish. If you need to reinstall, start SDC, go to File --> Restore Archive and point it to that file.
This works in Impulse too.
Also, does the distributed download system that you refer to cause me to upload anything to other users or is this a distribution of your servers?
I have to say that Impulse is downloading very very fast compared to the speeds at which previous updates were delivered via SDC. I know this by how fast the progress is growing and lots of experience. It would be nice to have a real number in there for download speed though.
Perhaps someone has luck, first strike, or other abilities that is playing a role?
I was referring to the DA example above. Will it effect TA if I don't install the update? Anything change from .002 to .003?
Its here folks! Have a look! :CONGRAT:
If you use Impulse or SDC, you just right click it and choose uninstall.
Well, in preperation for the new TA, I must now shutdown this system for the first time in a nearly a year to do a much needed memory upgrade. Got some OCZ super high performance ultra low latency ram here. Maybe TA will load even faster in immense? The extra 2 gigs don't hurt either. Yay! I love upgrades!
You only need to uninstall TA, Cari explicitly mentions that DL and DA can be installed and should be updated.
Indeed. It is still probably the only time I will ever uninstall it.
Why would the version number change? Are you saying there is no difference in the downloaded version and the one installed? If not, what changed?
This may be the only time I ever uninstall GC2 or its expansions.
I was wondering why the Impulse Beta forums had no stickies or official threads for such.
Please?
Any idea of what time thereabouts?
I have been using impluse for abouta week now and wanted to offer my first impressions. I can't quite put my finger on it yet, but there is something just a little frustrating about the interface. Pretty much all the info and commands that I need are there, but it doesn't feel like it. Perhaps it is me just not accustomed to such an iterface, or perhaps it is just not intuitive. Something is just missing. Perhaps higher contrast between the background and the butto
The simple answer is that it is a way to rate other people (only positive it appears). You can give someone a karma point by clicking the "thumbs up" button.
I believe the 'report' button issues negative karma. I have also seen certain folks running in the red.
Impulse keeps telling me that there are tiny updates to DA and even TA. For instance, right now it tells me that DA can go from 1.80g.102 to 1.80g.103. When I click history it says there isn't any. How am I to know what this update does, if I want to download it, and if it will break my current games? I had some of these yesterday too (and they were 200+ mb!). Please advise.
The [b] and the fact that the version number is less than 1.0 indicates a beta.
