A suggestion for Stardock: Simple and elegant UI's are fantastic, but they should give the advanced user the ability to see more information when it is desired. There is plenty of screen real estate not being utilized. Right clicking and choosing something like "see details" would be good enough to me (though not the best way to implement such a feature). Said details might be a log of what has occurred and will happen next with percentages or even progress bars.

DA seems to have finally got the message and now says "Ready to restore". I wonder how long I'd have to wait for DL's 1.4 GB?
Hmm, perhaps the problem is simply a complete lack of feedback. I'll let it go a while (I did watch for file handles to see when it actually read the archive before). A little more patience perhaps?
It takes me to the 'Downloads and Installs' tab and thats it. Nothing.
Thanks for the help. Yea, I figured that would happen. I can live with that, but my main issue is that I can't restore from archive. That means that I am going to have to redownload the entire thing to reinstall it.
Thanks for the response! As above notes, I checked to ensure there were no keys regarding the game left (there weren't). As said above, I set the install folder as I desired, but it adds additional folders underneath it. Any ideas?
I tried to download and install it, it says that no compatible hardware was found and aborted the installation. On Nvidia homepage it is listed as Geforce8/9 driver only
What card do you have? Is it integrated? Is your machine a laptop?
Ok, I finally got GC2:DL installed after I let it download the whole thing again. Now I am wondering why it insists on installing to the \Stardock\TotalGaming\Stardock\Totalgaming\GC2 folder. One of the reasons I chose to reinstall the whole thing is because after impulse installed TA, it put a new GC2 folder at the above location, then twilight, while still using the data in the original folder \Stardock\TotalGaming\GC2. I have chosen to install games in

To resolve some issues with Impulse installing to the wrong folder (could be my fault), I uninstalled all GC2 items and chose to reinstall them. To keep from having to download them again and again, I right clicked and chose 'Download and Archive'. A few issues: The expansions will not download and archive until the previous one is installed. I should be able to download them regardless, yes? When choosing 'Restore Archive' from the menu top left and choosing the downlo
If a space miner is set to automate but nothing is left for it to do, and then you set it to auto explore, the ship will prevent the turn button from returning. After pressing tab and moving the ship, the button returns. Perhaps giving a different 'auto' command should cancel the 'automate' order?
The mere fact that you're trying to correct something that is, at best, a minor inconvenience on the night you released the game is why you've got such a loyal fanbase, you know. Go get some sleep for god's sake, we don't want you cranky.
Yes. Get some sleep! We'll all still be up in the morning playing the game.
When I first bought GC2, I bought the collector's edition from a retail store. Back then, there was special content for that version. If I reinstall the entire game and all expansions from impulse, will all that content be included, or do I have to install it seperatly? I can't recall, but it seems like the extras were included for everone at a later date. Please advise. Thanks!
Brad, the "Create Custom Opponent Button" is greyed out for me and I am 100% positive I deleted the Twilight directory under "My Documents\My Games" before installing. The process I followed:-uninstalled Twilight Beta-deleted main installation folder-deleted Twilight user data folder under "My Documents\My Games"-installed Twilight-HM
Ditto
You can right click on the game in SDC or Impulse and choose archive. You must have the same software installed (SDC or Impulse) that you archived from to reinstall the archive.
Kick it harder!
I'm right there with ya. I have DOS2 somewhere around here too. Games sure have gone downhill. Stardock give me hope for the future of gaming.
Also seems if I run through the setup screens then back out to the main menu the Metaverse and Tournaments buttons are greyed out. I have to restart the game to get them back.
I am experiencing this as well. I just wanted to say that the expansion is great! I love all the new content and the updated textures are awesome!
Did you follow the instructions to uninstall and remove all beta folders before installing the release?
Also after I returned from posting this message (Alt-Tabed out of game to do so) I got "Invalid call" message box , after pressing OK game exited The system is Vista x64 SP1 - no idea where you save dump/log files in it.
Run the game windowed instead of full screen. Set it to your screen size and it will look full screen.

The AI. And I love the new flavor text in the dialog. The opponents just keep getting better!
It happens.
Cari suggested we make sure the Twilight folder in the GalCiv2 folder got deleted/renamed.
Keep everything rare and see how it goes. If it performs well, you can try it with more stars/planets/civs.
