race abilities bonus, logistics techs, hyperion logistics center...increase logistics limit. race abilities bonus, mining base, military starbase near by... increase attack ratings. race abilities bonus, miniaturization techs, hyperion shrinker... increase amount of stuff (weapons etc.) that can be fitted in a given ship. see if they have better "miniaturization" than you. research down that tree to increase space of your hull (and pack up more weapon/defence in your new de

Watch any movie . . . does anybody stutter or misspeak accidentally (as in not intended by the script)? It would be more realistic if they did, as none of us go a day without butchering one word or another. However, in a movie these everyday mistakes would distract us from the real substance being presented. How would it distract people from th
Forgot to type this in my last post (#47) and forum won't let me edit it righ now, please look up a yellow page and find the nearest location for some humor transfusion. you guys really need it. I doubt any of you who criticized me have University degrees or work experience in the domain, so pipe down. So... I guess
SeaFireliv what's the make up of your typical ship? typical fleet? and your enemy's?
I didn't think of that tactic, and unarmed ships is a valid parry, but there would be no need for more than one such ship in orbit Without Orbit Fleet Command, only one ship can be destoried per attack. So park 10 "target" in orbit, it will take atlease 10 moves before enemy can send it the landing party. Thus, buy some time for the reinforc
Try a harder level before you pass the judgement. At NORMAL, AI's economy is only running at 75% and with basic algorithms. Try atleast Tough+, then come back and tell me what do you think. "Unarmed fighters" is a good cheap tactic to shield the plant off from trooptransport, you might be using it yourself as you go up in game level. So don't laugh at it.
To OP and others that agree with him: How arrogant of you, to think everyone in the entire galaxy must speak in perfect english when only a very small part of this tiny planet use it? Thinking like this is dangerous to us and our children. So please stop.
My US version works great. maybe you need to talk to the Europe distributor (Paradox? I think). they are responsible for the German version (I believe). good luck
It is not a bug, it is designed to be this way. Not just your production stops, but everyone else as well. So it is fair. just play the game, lokiju.
Now That 1.1 is here. When would the metaverse score be changed rectoactively?
No. Never.
Simple answer: NO.
A) All races feel and play almost the same, in long term are you sure that you are playing GalCiv2? B) No choke point on map Space is HUG
One factory and two labs Actually… Don’t colonize it. Let AI spend time and money to build it up. By mid game, use espionage (or other mean) to find out whether the planet is truly useless or not. If it has bonus tiles or expandable, then it is not really useless and should start planning a way to take over it in the future (military, influence, or other mean). Once took over, update it accordingly (follow bonus tiles, or expa
They seem to take too long Like Hal, I actually found tech progress too quickly even at the slowest setting. I have to constantly update my shipdesigns and buildings. There is so much to research, that it woul
SargentPeter, are you serious about this? Have you ever use reseize tool in the ship yard?
Nobody else thinks this is an issue? No. What are you talking about? There is fog of war. and it is extremely easy to tell what player can and can't see.
is there any way to skip watching autopilot ships move or speed them up? In the Interface Options screen, turn "Follow Auto Pilot Ships" off. To really speed up also turn off things like "Watch Opponent Ship Movement," "Full Fleet Battles," "Prompt to Upgrade Starbase," etc. and do BinkyDaClown's
Tiny, Small ships are best for fighting ship/fleets with lots ofference power but no defence; DreadLords, etc (total damage deliver will be more, because more rounds of fighting). But once your opp. add defence to their ships, Large, Huge ship become better chioces (because space needed to add off. power to overcome their defence).
im not in debt..... what's your tax rate? At what % is your spending? if it is too low then... try adjust spending to 100%, rise tax as high as you could, and concentrate in one field only (military, social, or research).
MonkeyLogic, the original poster was mixing suggestions AND bugs.. the HP and range things are bugs! He agrees with you, but the game doesn't. It DOES those things. Well, maybe I misread. I apologize if this is the case. It has been a long day at work... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/SadAngry.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmi
do you owe more than 500bc? all productions stop when you owe more than that amount.
- in diplomacy window: when holding down the arrows (increase and decrease money) it should ad up more and more increments, i.e. i need more than just +1 and +10. so like after one second it adds ten, after two seconds (holding down the mouse button) it adds 100, after 3 1000 or so How about just type
it is in the manual. pg57
No, it's not the best AI out there. Take Civ4 for example. Civ4's AI is a joke when compare to GalCiv2's. Are you sure you played the same two games as us? however, GalCiv2's AI still need much improvements. Hopefully stardock will continue work on it.
