"never will be completed" problem.

ok, ive seen this somewhere before, but it also said it cleared up within a turn or two...

heres my problem:

after several turns of rapid expansion (this is beginning 10-20) and colonising 6-8 planets, for some reason everything goes to "never".

happiness isnt even down to zero yet, and factories are at 50%.

tried fiddling with it, and playing a turn, but still nothing.

any ideas?

one last thing: military, social, and research are empty on ALL planets. (i.e 0)

If you are in severe debt, then all of your planetary production will cease.

im not in debt.....

what's your tax rate? At what % is your spending? if it is too low then...
try adjust spending to 100%, rise tax as high as you could, and concentrate in one field only (military, social, or research).

erm... i generally fiddle around a lot...

rule of thumb: keep in green spending.

and since im authoritarian, i can set it quite high, (in the beginning where cash is short) but i keep it just before the point where every one stops having er... addition people to tax...

I have this problem as well- resetting your specialization solves it, but it is a minor bug.

Yes, I've had this happen too. Not in debt (15K in the green) and for a turn or two everything goes to zero.
For me it happened after I took some planets. It cleared up in a turn but still is
slightly annoying.

I think this is due to the new feature that redistributes your spending on planets when you are not using it. If you are not building any social projects, spending will stop. When you click on something to be built, income spent on social is not reflected, thus you get the "never be built" message.

That's what I think.

This happeend to me too. It went away after a turn, I think it was for the above reason.

I don't know if this really helps you but I always click the the specialize in production button in the planets screen on a new planet. It goes from "never" to 38 years for the 1st factory. Better then never. I just think the population is to low to register any production for a few turns.
