Just ignore heroine4life, every single carrier thread that comes along, she/he trolls it. Voting no is one thing, insulting everyone who supports it by calling it dumb is another. The worlds worst troll indeed. what are the odds he/she lives under a bridge and charges people to cross? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Gasp.gi
FROOKIE
did you just edit commander futility?? boy that was some change of tune...did star dagger get you in a headlock or sommat? haha
They are working their asses off on patches updates and the new expansion, and all you can do is complain and whine and expect them to cater to your responce simply because you speak for every single GC2 customer? That's pretty arrogant of you. I for one think Stardock is doing a fantastic job. Things will be fixed eventually I'm sure. But playing the "Customer is always r
Then play to have fun. Isn't that the entire point of a game? winning is fun, whereas losing is well...rubbish
Stargates...hmmm. How about this for an idea: Okay first there was stargates which helped people move in a limited way accross the galaxy. SO why don't we have a small chance of discovering a stargate whenever we colonise a planet. This stargate gives us acces to worlds that would normally not be within our reach.... For the avatar expansion this would be usefull as it could be situated on the asteroid cluster. BTW Nebulas and novas and ancient minefields a
nice one el conquest! you're a gent. I forgot the syntax for quoting too... Me big dumb ape. I did it. Watch out people...I'm back
where have you been man, could have used your voice months ago? The tak debate is officially over for gc2, but i'm still hoping for a turnaround. Big dog himself (frogboy) says no even for an expansion...too much for too little return or somesuch. GC3 will probably have it in one form or another. Shame really, it would have taken GC2 to the next level. later
troll indeed. Get wise kid: increase the difficulty. and try something other that battle of the gods. The basic sandbox mode is still the most fun.
I can't post or quote people . There's something really screwy going on here.
But Newcastle as the planets name?...Good ale.
Sky jack - how are you quoting? I've somehow lost the ability
Too bad I can't vote for two things as I cant decide what to have. Tactical combat all the way...Yeah baby
"So how do you tweak the simulated outcomes of an autoresolve to the real world outcome of the player playing the tactical battle for himself? When you have a simplistic system, it's not that hard to simulate it accurately since the options avaible to the player for winning the battle (or at least for losing it in a agreeable way) are quite limited. The more complex the system the more options and possibilities arrise, some being better or not and, depending on the skill of the player
If you want to autoresolve something, you have to simulate the combat in some way. The problem is then on which data will this autoresolve be based. If its based on the abilities of a average gamer it would be not accurate for a experienced gamer, nor accurate for an inexperienced one. If it's based on a experienced gamer it would be the same, etc. [font="arial,helvetica,sans-serif"][size="2"]The level of quality sho
I think all this real time and 3D stuff and so on belongs to this mainstream wave where everything has to be as realistic as possible. More realism doesn't really mean a better game, but that probably doesn't bother the EQ30 gamer sitting behind his playstation playing the game Spider Man Hyper Ultra X2, which he only bought because spider man looked cool at the back of th
. Once you enter combat your ships would be placed on an 8X8 or 8X10 "chess board". The order of play would be attacker moves one ship, then defender moves one ship and each ship would have movement points (mp) according to their size Its a nice idea with some real tacical depth, but the acual battle would take too long and for once i agree wi
Why is advanced diplomacy and more politics as a separate vote? Cleary more politics is the most popular at this moment.I couldn't care less for tactical battes. In GC2 wars, there are almost 20 battles a turn it would become a snoozefest. If those twenty something battles were really enjoyable and you had to utilise more of your brain cells to
I'm betting tactical combat would also be the feature people least want. Either that or MP. huh? that is the oddest bit of logic i have ever heard. Are you female?
whoa - sorry to double post but, I missed this: GCII is NOT a turn based COMBAT game. It is a combo; turn based strategy with realtime combat simulation. Pardon? realtime combat simulation? No a simulation should be a simulation not simply a viewer - it implies participation of some degree or another. eg Forza motorsport and g
not really mate....The thing is, if you think this through, every time you are moving a ship or fleet, you are doing so to complete an objective..with me so far? Now this objective is part of your overall plan - I'm sure you're still with me. Now replace objective with tactic and plan with strategy and you have what i have been driving at Again, i say we are already playing a tactical game a

I sense mission creep. From a sound, to an option of sound, to an option of multiple sounds...Next there will be a design your own end of turn music program, complete with different customizable sounds for everything you can click in the game! <img
. I won't buy a game with turn-based combat though. you are already playing a turn based combat game, takt is just taking it to the next level! grip get a... GO Richrf! GO Morghenes! that was really well said! boo to the naysayers! Down with No! <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-
I just wouldn't but the game (if it had turn based tactical) Liar liar pants on fire! you'd buy shit in a brown bag if it had stardocks name on it....
I've seen Rome: Total War mentioned a lot in these types of threads as an example of successfully blending turn-based strategy with tactical combat. Personally, I found the battles in that game more annoying than anything after a while. Basically the same thing all the time (at least for me): really dude, any improvement to moving ships to atta
