More Uses for Space Stuff in the Expansion

Maybe it's just me--or maybe not, because I've seen a few posts concerning this general topic--but in the upcoming expansion, it would be nice if Stardock created "more space stuff" for a lack of a better term.
Nebulas would be a great addition. I once played a trekkie game where different nebulas affected ships in different ways. Just to get the idea off the ground, we could make areas of sensor blindness where entire fleets could hide, waiting to pounce on a nearby planet. "Badland" (impassible, or tretourous) nebulas could also act as excellent barriers, like the forests of AOE II and III adding another strategic element to the game. Large asteroid belts could serve the same purpose. They may cause damage to ships, even destroy some defenseless smaller craft.
Black Holes and an expansion of wormholes would be very cool. Picture losing an entire fleet to an invisible anomaly. A message from your friendly neighborhood robot comes in telling you that you've lost contact. From that point on, a black hole graphic appears in that section of space letting you know what's really there.
Novas are another nice touch. An unstable star just so happens to vaporize an enemy fleet that was coming to invade one of your nearby systems. That would be pretty random though. I hesitate to say any colonizable planets could be found around such a star.
Just stuff to consider. The game as-is is incredible.
