(Cough)Enhanced AI and Diplomacy(Cough)

And if we don't get that... then maybe at least multiplayer. :P
If your complaining about too much cash, just wait till you tryout the Korx! I'm still in the middle of a game playing with 9 civs on Tough difficulty. My economy is now limitless due to their incredible trading ability and their new ability to profit off other civ's wars. I think I'm making about an additional +200bcs/turn with war profiting alone. It's gotten to the point where I can bribe all the civs with a tech or two and make them go to war, putting cash in my pocket. <br
Keep in mind also that some civs already have some of those techs researched to make them productive due to their super ability. I've played games that the Iconians researched their way to get 100% on Aquatic planets very quickly (Tech Trade on = fun).
People have been asking for more sophisticated Diplomacy since DL first came out. It's been getting better, but other things like graphics and other features always get the no.1 spots on the Dev-to-do-list.
I was playing a game as the Korx and everything is going swimmingly. The settings were Large/Tough with 9 races. I'm just now getting my economy under control after the colony rush when all of the sudden the Iconians decide to declare war on me. That's fine, as they're good and I'm evil. A couple turns later two races that I haven't even met yet (Torians and Drengin) decide that it's time to end my existence. This is the first game I've ever played that three civs decide to go to
This has been suggested (at least the Heroes idea) multiple times to the devs even during the development of Dread Lords. Nothing has been done about it so far and I doubt anything will. I for one like this idea as it can greatly enhance different strategies and gameplay. Don't get your hopes up though... they'll probably upgrade the graphics again before adding this feature in. XD
I believe that there is a hotfix for that problem. Try looking again for updates under Stardock Central. My problem occurred after the hotfix.
I've updated to the latest version of the beta and started out playing the Korx... who are great by the way. One thing that seemed odd to me was the Space Miner. It would go mine asteroids for awhile like it should and then move on to another set to mine. However after completing only one in a new group it would say that there were no more asteroids to mine... even though there were about three more sets of 3-4 around it. The remaining asteroids were unclaimed by any other civ and no
A lot of great ideas there. Sounds like you've got almost everything figured out too. My concern would be about what you already stated as the worlds get kind of repetitive. Regardless that this is how they are envisioned, players may not like this. I think they have some special ability (perhaps a racial ability) that increases their repair ability.
So after going a bit through the forums, I've read a some complaints about the Yor changes in TA. I decided to try out the Yor on TA and found that most of the complaints to be quite true. After some thought, I've decided to tweak the Yor differently. I know TA is still in beta, but... I'm done with school until next semester... and it's the weekend. So why not? I've gone through a few threads on how people would like to see the Yor become. I've copied some of the ideas and the pos
BFG?
I've asked before if there can be different government types. I've even tried to mod them but turns out the governments are hard coded. Imperial, Republic, Democracy, and Federation are all well and good. I think we just need more. Perhaps they should be race specific as well. For instance, Terrans can have their form of democracy/communism or whatever while the Krynn have a religious type government line of techs. Political parties could use some more variance as well, but

Select the option "Fullscreen" off. This will make your game run in a window which makes alt-tab work fine.
I see where you're getting at with this one. However, each race has to be good at something, right? Super abilities add a little flavor to each race as well as strengthen and balance it. There are only a few abilities that need to be reworked in my opinion, but overall I don't see too much of a problem with them.
^^ I've run into this problem as well. After trading for new technologies from other races, their buildings begin to clutter my build options window under the colony management screen. It would be nice for there to be a way to remove a building from the list and onto another one.
I would like to see this implemented as well.
Ever since DL was released, I've been pushing for a better UP. I remember numerous threads wanting this as well, but there hasn't been too many, if not at all, changes. *Diplomacy should somehow fit in with voting. Higher Diplomacy = More votes or other Civs going along with you *Ethical Alignment should affect the UP in some manner other than voting on Ethical Specific resolutions. *As stated earlier, the ability to talk with other civs and be able to persuade them
Perhaps the Terror Stars could have some sort of Drone technology? Everyone likes to use the example of Aircraft Carriers and while they do have some weaponry on board, they do have a whole bunch of planes! Along with the Terror Start line of techs, put in a tech where the Tstar would be equipped with drones so that in the event of a battle against a lone fighter it won't be completely dead in the water. The drones however would not be enough against a Frigate or Cruiser, just
I looked under the guides, but the tutorial was missing... What tools do I need to mod the UI? If memory serves, I think it was a Stardock product.
Haven't played GalCiv in long time... that is when I found the TA beta was out. If the Devs don't plan on changing the Tech list on the Diplomacy Screen, I would love to see some indication of what the Race Unique techs are. For instance in such a large list you could just put a simple dash next to a unique tech. This helps me distinguish not only the other race's unique techs, but my own as well. I would hate to accidentally trade mine thinking it was something everyone else would
Bump.
I was fortunate on getting a new computer a few days ago but have been wondering about something. First here are the specs: --Windows Vista Home Premium --Intel Quad-Core 2.4ghz --Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT (256 dedicated memory and ~750 shared)(With latest drivers) --2 gigs of ram. My first question is this: I installed Oblivion and was expecting to have some incredible visual quality like I did on my old laptop which only had an (1)Nvidia Geforce Go 7600 (2)I
