Looks pretty good so far. If you need any help to speed things along just let me know as I have some free time on my hands. But in my opinion, it would seem to me that 30/20/10 could throw some things out of whack for things to be balanced. I wouldn't know what the correct procedure of fixing this would be unless you wanted to get very tedious in trying different combinations out. However, the categories that you have placed everything in seems logical and would work

Does anyone know how to make more attributes for specifying what UP resoltuions are brought to the table? I'm trying to make the UP more interesting and play a larger role in the game instead of usually pointless ressolutions. The first step is figuring out how to make my own attributes, so if anyone knows, it would be great to share the knowledge!
I started a game the other day with the AI set to crippling difficulty. In the past, I have had trouble with the AI acting foolishly on higher difficulties and it has now become a habit for me to check and make sure they are set on the intelligence level I sepcified. As soon as gameplay started, I checked all of the AI players and each of them were on Genius (I think) and for the first several turns everything was working out great. However, after maybe something around 50 turns o
Well, if you know how would you mind enlightening me?
I've been looking at the Modding Guide and saw that there are number values for the different attributes for each of the UP's resolutions. Is there anyway to make your own attribute in the UP, or is something that has been hard coded? I was going to attempt a major overhaul of the resolutions in an effort to make it more useful and interesting, but the first major step is figuring our how to make more attributes/resolutions.
The UN does use a military, but as stated above, that military is made up of other country's. Also just becasue the UN is lame, doesn't mean the one in the game has to be... in the future hopefully, things will get better.
Wouldn't matter to me, whatever the developers decide on. If they had the time, I suppose they could make they're own design of hulls or something along those lines. Maybe they could just have a logo or something along with their own color scheme like the other civs do. I guess all I want to see are some more enhanced political options.
(Bump)
I mentioned this idea already in another thread that was devoted to fixing tech trading via the UP , but I figured that this should be in a thread of it's own. Why can't the UP have a military like the UN does today? Granted that military is made up of other country's military, but it could be used similarly... For the UP to exist, all the civs contribute a percentage of their income to allow the UP to function and build up a military that can be used when a civ is being
It's hard to say whether the universe is infinite. One thing for sure is that the universe is constantly expanding which has been proven through red shifts (don't know what those are? Look it up!) According to what you all have been saying, yes the universe is not infinite, but it is constantly expanding into infinity. I dunno if that makes sense...
Great idea. There is a lot of potential here. I love the idea about implementing tech trading here instead of just turning it off. Why can't the UP have a military like the UN does today? Granted that military is made up of other countries military, but it could be used similarly... For the UP to exist, all the civs contribute a percentage of their income to allow the UP to function and build up a military that can be used when a civ is being horribly abused or ganged u
What?
Well, I have already started a new game and have saved over the previous one with that problem. If a problem similiar to this occurs again, I'll check on that. A theory I think may have been a cause is the inital installation of the 1.2 patch had set all options to default, but said differently on the game setup menus. Any ideas?
While that may be true, I didn't have that option turned on...
I had recently download the 1.2 patch and began playing a game on Crippling difficulty. After my intial exploration and colonization of the galaxy, I noticed that mainly the evil civilizations did not colonize any planets, ones that were very close to their home world. It wasn't until the midgame that other civs colonized them and the evil civs still just sat there. Figuring it was just a glitch, I quicksaved and restarted the game hoping it would fix itself even though they were
I don't think we should just stop with the ethical alignments. We can go deeper with not only actions but choices in whether adhering to an alliance when they need help or tactics that you choose to invade other civs.
The Tastians for the planet Tasty.
Bump.
I dunno if this has already been suggested, and if it has, oh well. What if civilizations had to deal with the popularity of their population more? What I mean is, basically the way you control how much your own population loves/hates you is whether how high taxes are set, building improvements/trade goods, and techs. I think it should be deeper than this. Your actions against other civilizations should affect how your own people think of you. For instance suppose you
That is what I had in mind. Shame that I won't be able to get it work.
In the past, I have been succesful with creating and implementing my own technologies, but when I had the idea of making techs to further the increse of damage of a particular weapon, I cannot get the effects I want. For example, I created a tech called "Energy Enhancement" to improve the individual damage of beam weaponry. With this tech it would add +1 to the base beam rating (all beam weapon components added) of all ships without the need of adding another weapon component. So i

Can't say I ever experienced something like that. Could be a small bug, but I don't think the Drengin are going to be that sly... So I uess what I'm trying to say is I wouldn't know what to do about that. Cheers.
The new interface is great. Maybe we can get that as a normal option instead of using a mod?
