Hey... I'm running XP on my gaming rig, so this may not help. But I had the same issue when I updated to the Gold Edition. The game was completely unplayable, I couldn't even turn it off without rebooting (much less even being able to find the anti-aliasing checkbox). I figured I just needed newer drivers but when I checked my drivers were updated to the newest ones (I've got a ~2yr old HP laptop) which came out just the same time your installed one did. Out of frustration I

I've noticed that the AI has actually wised up a slight bit on that i.e. in my last game I noticed the AI never colonized a PQ 2 planet, which was something I'd always seen them do before. Maybe it was an isolated event, but worthy of note I thought. One way to keep the enemy from getting those planets is to use the Small Hull with Colony pod attached, then just put a couple people in it (1 or 2) and colonizing it yourself... while this will still cost you in creating the ship, you won
Comment: I'm liking the DA Custom Race Editing options except that it would be nice if there was a Noun/Pronoun option to go along with the Race Name line. I'm sure some of you remember that option in Alpha Centauri. For instance: Terran Alliance ShipX is referred to as "Terran ShipX", not "Terran Alliance ShipX". I don't see why there couldn't be a way to incorporate this into custom races... Question: I played the heck out of DL, but due to my job, I'm still a DA Newb. For

It looks like you're using a Dell Laptop. Go to Dell's website and they should have the best possible driver for your laptop. That's the only way I could upgrade my HP lappy.
I lost trade routes to attack in my last game. I had built the privateer. The only thing was that another race had also built the privateer. But yeah, I still lost it, so I don't know what that was about...
I'm gonna side with Megablob on this one... redesign everything, even colony ships and constructors. You can make ships that work better and can be built faster and cheaper immediately...
I've got the same issues... and I also love the game
The way to buy yourself time for whatever you need when attacked... Take a small hulled ship and arm it with 1 (one) of your best weapon that they have no defense for... Then start having all endangered planets start pumping them out. And whatever you do, don't build structures that allow you to create fleets in orbit until you can crush them. Lots of small ships with decent attack and no armor can hold off the dreadnaughts until you are ready to go on the offensive. This worked well up
The campaign is fine and fun in its own rights. Sandbox games are much more open ended and therefore have more to do...
There should be a print screen button (prt sc) or somethin' like that to the right of the F12 button... If you have a laptop you may need to hold the fn key down when you hit it...
Those are the newest drivers for both... and this is even the second video card I've had in the machine (used to have an ATI Mobilty FireGL T2, with the newest drivers), and the problem is just the same as before... so that's not the problem
ah yes, and make sure you use IE in the metaverse, cause you won't see the button with Firefox...
Oh yeah, and now (1.2) the screen is just red, not blue (I have no clue why)
I just like the fact that the Altarian freightors look just like the human ones, even though they're a different hull type.. never could figure that one out...
I've never once ran into the wrong planet unless I accidently clicked on it... and this is with 10+ Speed colonizers... Maybe you should scout around a little...
Eh.. that was just a couple hours into a game.. but the screwup happened, so I sent it in...
Hehe... nothin' beat my last game (I'm normally hardcore neutral) but I decided to tread a darker path, and after I posted to the metaverse my alignment said, simply "Pond Scum"... I love this game
Yeah, it's been awhile, but I finally had time to play another game, and here it is... You know what I hate? When somebody starts a thread with an ambiguous name and then complains about some tiny little feature on a great game. You should say something if a feature isn' working, but you dont' need to bitch about it, grow up... ...or go "bork" yourself
Yeah, except avian flu varieties have always been extremely deadly when they break out... The Spanish Flu alone killed at least 50 million (up to 100 mil possibly, but I doubt that) from 1918-1919 and that was before most mass transit, globe-hopping flights, and overcrowding that would enhance it today... As for the Mexicans, Throw 'Em Back
