I am looking to getting my ass kicked on 1.1 - I havent downloaded the beta yet.... I may do next weekend. I've got a couple of games in progress I dont want to disturb for now. I haven't lost a sandbox game yet. From what I have heard, the Ai is much more capable of prosecuting a war..... I so want to lose damnit!! Not just a slow, gradual loss bu

No one can help if you don't post your debug.err file!
No way to do it as you want except at the start of a turn with the jump to button. You can also use the first button on the bottom panel that lists your planets to jump around.... still not quite what you want but its the best answer I have for you!
The 2400 bug (the 2k one was off by 400 hundred years!) took effect and all the Yor's life systems went haywire and they tore themselves apart. Meanwhile the Thalan Matriarch Queen died and all the Thalans became mindless drones. Chaos won!
What an odd thing.... I don't really see how the software for the game can cause that.... I'm baffled! Hopefully someone from Stardock might be able to illuminate you if they notice this thread!
Starbase Mobilisation tech. Mobilise doesn't mean to move - Dictionary definition to prepare to fight, especially in a war: The government has mobilized several of the army's top combat units. Troops have been mobilising for the past three weeks.
I had both the bust event and the alien culture being strong event last nearly a whole game once. That was not easy!
Not at present no. They probably will be at some point in the future either later patch or potential expansion.
That aside, I'm pretty sure whenever your planets rebel, they give you 10K. It's like a "hey, thanks for keeping us alive til now, we don't really like you, but here's 10k, please don't kill us" fund. Ooops! Missed replying to that...... I didn't know that happened never having had a planet rebel, so
(although he did say he upgraded his starbase), Yeah, I meant the same point as you made later: economy starbases actually doesn't HELP your economy any That was what I was indicat
With abundant habitable planets, I would expect to see around 3 habitable planets per system. 15 is actually a high level PQ planet. Setting up a medium map with everything set to rare and 5/6 other civs will get you a game where each civ only has its initial system.... with possibly one or two more lose planets around the map. It's a lot of fun because of the simplicity of it compared to playing a Gigantic with everything abundan
if you believe that every able bodied person capable of fighting would actually have to be killed before a planet surrendered then you are dillusional. Why do people need to add insults to prove their point? Perhaps because their arguments are weak. It's a game, it doesnt need to follow reality.... ge
Just looking at your debug.... I'm no expert but you are running the 1.0 patch and your drivers are REALLY old! I think the driver update you did was unsuccessful!!! GPU: Driver Date: 8/18/2001 01:56:02 Sound: Driver Date: 11/26/2001 18:05:54 The current driver for your GPU should be Version: 84.21 Release Date: 17.3.2006 It works for GeForce 2 MX on XP systems. <a href="http://www.nvidia.co.uk/obj
While Civ 4 was a change in some core concepts (borders, religions, unit upgrades), Civ 1-3 really was the same game with better graphics and some exploits removed. But basically, Civ 4 is the same game as its predecessors - same wonders, same units, same buildings, same worker actions (a few more and a few less), same (not all) leaders and civs. A more streamlined tech tree with very similar techs in it. Gal Civ's core game remains unchange
I can actually see why all this happened but it is very hard to explain so bear with me. I will try to follow it by stages. What happened at the start was you probably had a lot of Manufacturing resources that were seriously draining your money. If I see a 700% manufacturing tile, I take stock of my economy before I drop a factory strai
Patience! The posts do come up.... if not always where you expect and they do take a couple of mins sometimes! If it hadn't have worked, you'd have been talking to yourself! As for the prices thing. You can probably buy it much cheaper through reta
Hehe, nice score. I've only done better once and it came as a surprise (somewhere between 150-160k!) I think conquest victories tend to score more.... was that a conquest victory by chance?
The Iconians are almost always good when im playin'... perhaps it depends on the other civ's you've chosen for your game as well... No.... if you look at the starting ethics of the race - they start with specific ethics everytime (go and load a game and see). Choices made when colonising and through
Well.... the Yor perhaps aren't evil by their standards. Perhaps they know no better - they are sentient robots who were perhaps programmed to act that way, thus while their actions are evil they do not have much of a choice so they aren't considered to be as evil as say the Korx who have a free mind and can choose - ignorance and innocence to some degree offset evil action.... like when you were a kid, for example, and you pulled off the wings of inse
So, to develop your own ideas... you add in further ideas... and further..... Do you see my point now? There are countless ideas - literally thousands of ideas. No developer could hope to include everything from its active fanbase, it's just not economically possible. I agree that more micromanagement wouldn't be fun. Again, it's a matter of personal preference. The definition of genocide means the total destruction of a race. So
I have a feeling that it's a bit like the report system you get. Sometimes your quarterly report will tell you what kind of strategy another AI is adopting..... this seems sometimes similar. Most of the time though it is something you are directly doing, like building influence starbases near or in their influence borders, having a sudden military buildup, planting troop transports or fleets near or in their space. Other times you
Odd Iconians are always always evil with me, not once have they even leaned neutral. And the Korx always end up either neutral or neutral leaning good. Odd. I was just referring to their inherent start positions. They can and will change over the course of a game depending on the decisions they selec
I thought Altarians were the only good race. Nope - just checked.... both Torians and Drath start half way along the Good side of the bar too.
You're running version 1.0 Debug Message: Version v1.0 last updated on: Mon Feb 6 12:52:05 2006 You can patch up to a later version which might help. It could be your graphics card overheating, a later patch introduces a GPU throttling option to skip occassional frames. This could be the thing to help. Later patches also introduce a LOT more content, so you really want to get hold of them. Don't download the most current patch though as it is still in Beta. Go to
I don't have any problems upgrading ships. The ship name does not upgrade, but the details box shows the new design. This is the same for me - never had a crash, just had to manually rename the ship class.
