Having played DL since it came out, I have only just bought DA and one thing that is readily obvious (and I must assume a bug) is that aside from my capital there are absolutely no planetary boni whatsoever in this gigantic galaxy. Is this a known bug? EDIT: Sorry - I was using an incorrect term to search for this problem. It seems that there are in fact some threads and a number of people experiencing this. I can't seem to find any response from the devs though.

I'll offer what I know: The media included will be a proper (naturally) CD of the game, the manual, the box as seen on the main site. I am not sure of further inserts as I went for the downloaded version. You most definitely can burn backups - and are actively encouraged to, but ultimately you can always just use the Stardock application manager and download it again whenever you want to after registering your purchase. As for your English, dont knock yourself - your E
Resolved thanks.
Thanks for the reply ddrider All of those changes and the others listed by Iztok really seem to be built off of player feedback - I like it! They would also appear to add a lot to the game. I like the notion of fixed traits a *lot* and this system of spying seems more involved and less abstracted. It all looks good to me.... Now just waiting for my order to be processed!!! Cheers Spearthrower P.S. I notice no one is answering my first question! <img src="h
Mmmm toxic planet - sounds tasty! Thanks for the summary, that is precisely what I was looking for! Those super traits are really interesting, I'm going to go and look up some information on those! Thanks
Hello one and all I'm just about to buy Dark Avatar, and, as usual, I have some problems with payment (living in Thailand seems to have this effect on credit card companies!!) so I came to say hello while I wait for it to be sorted out. I haven't posted here for many many moons. In truth, at the time I got sick of so many negative, unconstructive threads and flames that I lost all enjoyment from posting here - I have happily played the GalCiv2 since then though on a fairly regular basis
I live in Thailand and was probably one of the first players of the final release game! Just use Stardock to download and play - it incurs no shipping cost and it really doesn't take long to download. Medcatt, you can burn your downloaded copy to CD - no problem!
*comes back after a long sojourn due to flaming wastrels posting inane crap on this forum* *clicks the first post at the top of the page* *reads inane crap from flaming pirate wastrel* *goes back to sojourn*
First of all, I just want to say that I totally support the idea of a purchasable extra ship pack - it is, after all, entirely optional for the end user. However, someone above made an important comparison. Oblivion has this purchasable extra content system happening and it is driving a lot of people away. I think this is so because the content is simply unworthy of release (i.e. it adds neglible things) and it is generally deemed to be thin
Yes they are.
Ahhhh I am starting to get it now.... this thread is actually the nursery/kindergarten thread..... I am sorry, I didn't realise that. Please dont try to argue that any of these incredibly offensive posts filled with "go die" "nuke you" "get cancer" kind of statements are actually meant to be funny? If so, with such an asocial sense of humour, you can hardly start talking about someone elses problems. Wheelofflame. Perh
To the growing community of illiteracy apologists: Here's your problem: People should give their best shot at writing properly. And, yes, that's "properly" because this is an overall effort. I am right. You are convoluted. How can you defend these idiots? Do you really believe that French or Spanish or our lovely German friends are going to be kind to people that ma
Svalin and Darth Griffin.... good job guys - I hate grammar and spelling Nazis..... and I'm an English teacher! I can personally find 4 grammatical errors in the original post (*you are all*).... but, of course, it is perfectly understandable so why would I need to complain? Teh morale
But the player can't do that. So if the AI does that it's kind of cheating or playing by different rules. You can't choose so that you get more then 20% (25% for Torian) morale from abilities for any of the default races. Yes you can.
So you only get trade money when a freighter completes it's route ? That means that closer routes are the way to go. Waiting for a freighter to go across a gigantic map means you would only get income once or twice in the whole game. No, they generate money every turn. They just generat
I cant actually send an .err file or a crashreport or smth...because the game dosent actually crash. I noticed in Windows Taskmanager that the program just keeps growing in memory usage. Some time ago i also got games loaded in about 10 min...but these happy times are over now :S ...help...pls It doe
Here's hoping you don't have a 50% minaturisation bonus..... No but my girlfriend has a 50% logistics bonus...... I can't believe I said that..... if she reads that.... and understands
No hard feelings from me Twelvefield! I hope to see you post more around here!
What an idiot. Sorry, I am normally more positive, but there's not much else that can be said. Stamp your feet because it's taken 5 business days to send you something. Hello? Do you live in the real world? This is standard business practice. As syneris said, why the hell are you posting here anyway? As you are such an expert on corporate business, you should know that a polite email to their customer service department is what is
I think it would be a really hardcore challenge to try to beat the game without designing your own ships. Right from the first turn you want to get in there and design some ships. Take a cargo hull, pretty it up some, put a few engines and a load of sensors on it - Scout Mark 1 Redesign an initial starting Colony ship with an extra engine to grab those nearby worlds. If you are playing on gigantic, you will need a load
Anyway, does this desire to be beaten senseless mean that we're sick in the head or something? Well, speaking personally, I'd have to agree! +1 Sick in the Head ability here. Effect: Morale goes up considerably when losing fleets or planets.
There is no bust evvent AFAIK, There is - didn't you read my 2 posts where I said there was! I didn't just make it up for a laugh <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" bor
Will I have to go down to beginner level? Oh I hope so..... That's good news mate.... happy to hear it's tougher now...... Only question is.... why didn't you have those planets defended? <img
You both need to post your debug.err (from your installation directory) - people can't offer any help without seeing it.... other than the obvious make sure virus checkers arent running, turn off unnecessary applications etc etc. Post the file if you want help!
What difficulty level are you playing at? If it's normal, that's ok.... if it's tough I am worried! Did you look to see if they are sending escorts but that the escorts are far behind the transports?
