First day of playing, sound problems

Help please

My first post here. Too bad it's to list some problems. I love the game though, so I thought I'd start with that.

I use headphones for all my gaming as there's a TV in the same room that's always being watched by someone. The game tutorial works fine, I turn the speakers off, the headphones on, and I hear everything fine. However, when I start a game I can't hear anything in my headphones, but the speakers will work (once I turn them back on). I play a lot of different games using my headphones and have never had this happen before. Does anyone know what settings I should be fixing? What would make the headphones work for the tutorial, but not the game??

A strange one for sure! My guess is that the intro movie is using the same channel as your headphones. It has been documented that the movie does not always release the sound channel once it has finished.

To check on this go to '/my documents/my games/GC2/' and open 'prefs.ini' in a text editior..
On line five you will see "SkipIntro=0", change this to "SkipIntro=1" and then save the changes. Start the game and see if this does the job for you.

If this does not work then email [email protected] Email with full details of your issue.

What an odd thing.... I don't really see how the software for the game can cause that.... I'm baffled!

Hopefully someone from Stardock might be able to illuminate you if they notice this thread!

Well thanks for your suggestions. I too have never seen this before and I play all my games using the headphones. I figure it must be a PC setting, but that would make more sense if none of the game could be heard with the headphones. It's weird that the game's tutorial can be heard with both the speakers and headphones and the gameplay can only be heard on the speakers.
