GPU's current driver is Version: 84.21 Release Date: 17.3.2006 It definitely covers your card Your video driver is very out of date! Link

Look Chuck, I am refferring to your comments like "majority", "everyone"..... these are the parts where you are not speaking about yourself - these are not numerical stats but they are statistical. Yet you are implying that there is some kind of universal acceptance of these bad things and that people who dont appreciate that are somehow hiding the truth either from themselves or from others. Now I know you said that you have mostly enjoyed the game and mostly had good experience. So
Can't edit: Good: Altarians, Drath, Torians Neutral: Terrans, Thalan, Arceans, Iconians Evil: Yor, Korx, Drengin I'm pretty sure that's how it goes!
Go into your game installation folder. In there you will find the debug.err file.... open it with notepad, copy and paste it here.
I believe that the Terrans are neutral.... which is fitting imo. In most games I have played they have ended up swinging to good... but occassionally I have seen Evil brother Terrans!
There's nothing I strictly disagree with in what you posted - they're all good ideas. As has been said countless times though, it is easy to come up with ideas but much harder to implement them. I don't doubt that things such as invasions and planetary attacks will become more complex over time but I doubt they are highest priority right now. Just a note on number 4. The population of a planet is supposedly only the number of tax payers on t
Post your debug.err file here. Nobody can help you from the information you've given.... post it up and you will get some feedback.
"Is stacking of super projects an intended effect?" Yes it is, I've seen Stardockians say that it is intended.
Yeah there needs to be some kind of "need permission" to cross borders or it's an act of war. Crossing borders is an act of war - borders are your planets. Influence is not a politcal boundary. You can own planets within someone elses cultural influence..... take say Gibraltar for example.
This is the ONLY thing I dont like about the game. THIS is the ONLY thing I request. Other than that the rest , in my opinion, is gold. Its not like I am asking for them to recreate the entire game to look like starwars. So dont get all huffy puffy acting like I'm asking for a complete makeover of the game because I'm not. Like I
Ok.... well first off you need to update both your video and sound drivers. GPU: Driver Date: 7/15/2004 12:42:00 Sound: Driver Date: 4/3/2002 10:51:15 Both of these are really old and Gal Civ 2 expressly needs updated drivers. Try that and see if it fixes it - if not then come back here and see what else we can come up with! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid
Post your debug.err file here. People can't help you unless you post it.
Can you post your debug.err file, it may be that someone can tell you what's going on from that.
They repair by themselves. Your repair score reflects how fast they repair - building the Micro Repair Bot wonder improves this score. Putting them into orbit speeds it up too. Basically, just leave them and they're done You used to be able to cheat but it was expensive (not sure if you can still do it). Take an individual ship and upgrade it to the same type of ship. It takes a turn, costs a couple of hundred and repairs to full.
For all those who think the AI is too easy. Try to play every game without ever using saved games, and _always_ play the given galaxy. See how often you win. Ofcourse there are people who can beat the AI almoust always, but I think in many situations it is actually the player that is cheating with saves, not the AI with its high-
Halfbaked? Your a fool to assert that you or that most people did not experience at least some bugs. Or perhaps lack the sense to know when it is a bug. I doubt that though seeing as your post is well worded and such. I made no claims except that I thought MOST people experienced a bug. The percentages were my own, not hard to cl
I've said it before but I think that espionage could be changed mostly by removing a lot of the information that is currently available to you without espionage. Currently, you can see everything about enemy ships just from clicking on them. If you had to spend cash on espionage first before you could get their stats.... and more money before you could see the individual components.... this would go a long way to making espionage a more usef
Does 'military strength' mean they view me as weak and an easy target, or building up an invasion force and needing to be destroyed? Some races had plusses and some minuses by military strength, so I don't know which way to go to stop antagonising the galaxy as I seem to be doing at present. Military
I have had some absolute monster pirate fleets before. The Pirates seems to have a very large logistics score and most definitely use large and even huge hulls. One game many moons ago, a flotilla of pirates appeared deep in my territory but within mostly empty space. They managed to destroy some really late game starbases. I sent down a fleet of my toughest ships - they were the toughest by far in the galaxy - the pirates ate them for break
You could have looked in your debugg.err file to see exactly what happened. It's possible that the AI were trading around amongst themselves which sped the tech rate up. Or the Drengin could've researched it alone. It is possible. Let's all cry wolf again!
I havent downloaded it yet because I am in the middle of 3 different games and dont want to bugger them up. I also am a bit wary of losing my current ship designs.... I could back them up but I dont really have much time to play until next weekend anyway, so I think I will skip the beta and wait for the final patch. One thing I can guarantee - I wont be using the No Tech Trading option though - the AI already falls far behind as it is! <img
Sounds like the world you took over had a manufacturing capital on it with a load of factories. That caused a huge increase in your spending. You didnt get any tech from taking over the planet because you already had all their techs. You never get cash from taking over planets - strengthening your position and weakening your enemies is reward enough, the free tech is just icing (unless you are playing against the Dreadlords!!)
You should really be ashamed. I mean, really. Grow up. I may need to wear glasses to see, but you need to wear boxing gloves before you choose to type. If you had even one ounce of common decency, you would never have posted that unfeeling, uncaring, truly low message. Before I go, I must remember to call up Barnum and Bailey's,
They should be there in the top right of the detail tab. When you say 8 parsecs, have you clicked on the starbase to make sure its radius definitely covers the planet? Its only 8 parsecs laterally not diagonally.
It can do.... that's about the best answer anyone can give you. Sometimes the civs drop like flies and hand all their worlds over at the drop of a hat. Other games they stick around to at least the mid game before a few get wiped. It's not a constant thing but there is a thread around here on it from today thats got some ideas and examples in it.
