Planetary Invasion also seems to be a special case where the AI is downright unreasonable in what they want in return IF you can get them to trade at ALL. IIRC and I may not recall correctly, but the changes were that "AI now values certain techs more" Such as weapons and logistics. Its not a fair trade IMO, and I didn't like those changes. I have learned to deal with them and play the game.
Supreme Shogun
I loved NWN and the persistent worlds play online, was what kept me playing Looong after the campaign was done. I loved the world builder and hope NWN2 has one as good or better for the D&D fans to build our own modules. One other things I ALWAYS look forward to in new games is new classes, spells and abilities, etc.
Wirefire2 is right. It's just that because of military victory, you end up with all them planets and populations, etc. as opposed to other ways to win where you don't need to own it all and can still win.
Well MMO speaking, the first one I found that captivated me longer was Guild Wars. Where ArenaNet understood grind = bad. grind is where you kill a million bad guys level up and do it all over again. They made it about doing stuff not grind. That's what advice I'd give you, make it about doing stuff an lessen grind.
No responses eh?
Minor race = speed bump (if you play like I do ). Others more benevelolently use them as trade partners.
I have to agree with the OP on this one. It's not the version though, its been that way since... well... uh GC1. Make the hugest galaxy ever, even with few opponents, some fartknocker alien civ will be in the next system over. Ctrl-N is definitely your friend. I still wish to be able to somehow add/edit the init routines and fix it for good. like a simple if/then check, if starting placement = very close to a
I have to say its frustrating if it doesn't work, I've never had such problems (knock on wood). I do have some sympathy for the OP, but I also think SDC is the tops and greatest thing ever. Kudos for easy updates !! Wish more companies go a similar route making things easier for us.
I usually trade techs for techs or money, I don't try to bankrupt my ally. Also, if I am not going for a complete galactic domination I'd sell them some warships or gift them.
Yeah, "Dude, Pimp my warships !!!" is the key to victory.
I agree, You get the basic tech at start the larger clunky hyperdrives. Want to zoom around the galaxy going to have to research the engines a bit.
Yes, Congrats Frogboy !!! Also want to say "Love you Guys/Gals " to the whole Stardock Crew.
I was wondering about this neat little MMO that seemingly overlooked ? It looks amazing.
I think adding in a new way to win would be cool. Besides Culture, Tech, and Mil. Conquest. Maybe like a monetary victory like where you try to corner the stock markets in Alpha Centauri (AC) but to do that you'd have to have the funds to literally buy everyone out. That's just a thought. Religion makes Civ 4 interesting. I doubt you'd want to touch that, though. Scenarios that are un-orthodox among the regula
Well I'd like to see a TBS more than I would a RTS. I mean in the way like say GalCiv Tactics (ie squad based combat ya know like Final Fantasy Tactics only its Sci-Fi GalCiv ). EDIT: RPG in a sense that FFT was, your group of heros/heroines have different jobs/professions and lvl up etc.. as well as can use different items/equip. A Shock Troop wouldn't know about healing but a medic/doctor would. (Exa
I agree totally with Schrademan2006 it all boils down to how its implemented. Till then... burn this mutha down. Flame on.
*The Following transcript follows after filtering expletives from the universal translator* You have to be F- kidding me !?!? Tactical Combat? NO F- WAY! I don't want games to take a year+ to F- finish. Not only that, screw strategy. Who care s if you can't manage even one planet, let's use our tactical prowess to dominate the galaxy.
W()()t! Stardock rules. I love you guys.
People of Earth celebrates "We Love Stardock Day" (again ) Awesome work guys and gals.
Better late than never.. I change my response to "OH HELL NO" (after reading the designing a ship/using all the slots analogy) Secondly. I think the poll is bogus since one can vote multiple times.
Interesting debate.
The OP didnt make sense to me.
Keep on rocking in the free world.
Even if we're not dealing with anomalys, having the other 19 follow the first is just awful.
Thanks for clearing that up.
