I agree that the cap should go. For starters we don't have have an economic advisor. Also we shouldn't be forced to micromanage our economy so.
Supreme Shogun
Unless you suck at ship building.. like me. Believe me, I really like being able to use them and just stick on lasers and engines. They look amazing compared to the junk I called ships before.
Is this fix available for download or we have to wait for the next beta version ?
I've not seen the event, but using random opponents in DA sandbox games they have appeared as one of the races. Also, I will say they got hosed. I was playing at normal/large map/abundant all/scattered. Not by me, but the Torians no less I remember in the campaign they were bad ass, I am wondering though if something not right or Torians were lucky.
And sometimes a colonization event pops up and redetermines fate. I mean if you pick the evil choice on throwing those pukes out in the sea and get a +49% tech on this world its defititely getting some labs.
or Civ 4 Vanilla when you have Warlords Why?? Actually its an expansion so the base GC2:DL stuff is there PLUS the goodies.
I have the latest and greatest update to DA , on Sunday Afternoon. No notes about it, I was just checking Stardock Central just for the heck of it. Anyways the problem lies with fusion reactors. Building them caused a blank green square instead of you know increasing my production. It actually went down. I didn't have any blank green squares to build, I take an existing factory (enhanced at that point in my game) and upgr
I have to agree with your answer there, but disagree with one point. On outgrowing the AI. I think that is tied to difficulty level. On tough+ they (AI players in general) seem to be more efficient at having higher populations, taxing them and keeping morale under control.
While I must say that finally pirates have some teeth and are something to be feared/dealt with, it does seem exploitative that one could send transports to planets after pirates messed with your neighbors. I'm sure the Devs will get that cleared up.
OMG this thread should be like BURIED already. This horse has been beaten, dragged around, beaten some more, revived and beaten many times. What's this WE crap, everytime there was a poll for who wants MP and would be willing to pay for it (Brad justifying spending the resources/time/money on it) not enough people ever said YES.
Incidentally, for those of us not in the DA beta, what exactly is the Jagged Knife? It sounds like some kind of reverse Fundamentalists, but that might just be wishful thinking. An evil version of the Fundamentalists would be, like, made of awesome. It is like the Fundamentalists only worse . LoL! They take planets from ALL not j
Well even the Super Adapters get 2 free techs, they still have to research trade for the others.. I can see the AI knows full well how valuable it is to colonize these worlds, they do not trade them so easy at all. They also deem it important to get, because get it they do. As a player, you cannot ignore the new techs either because they will colonize those worlds if you don't.
DooD! DUDE!! Dark Avatar totally rocks. It roxorz. DA is totally worth it. It is damn good for an expansion. It raises the bar on what to expect for expansions. I cannot eloquently put it, but If you own and like GC2. DA will be totally must have it.
Well the Debug.err file ... find it and post it, we can help you better if you do.
Heh. I feel your pain. Although I dislike mentioning them there is a real level of pain in mega events not as bad as regular old events. I mean when recessions hit, I have a nice bank reserve can survive for a while on it. Jagged knife or the plague... its much more dire. Fundamentalists look like amateurs to the JK.
I hate to point out how other games do stuff, but Space Empires does this rather well by allowing the user to pick a particular text file. Where the files are just lists of potential names. Whether its states, state caps, USSR republics, birds, swords, is all a matter of preferences and personal taste to the user.
I know it's not all nailed down yet, but the best place for GC2 info was the wiki. The wiki has some DA pages already.
I've seen the JK take from all, not just good.
No it's not RPS. It's not designed that way. I believe what was said above, because there's 3 main choices on weapons and defenses people may think that. Problem is, there's more than 3 choices... You CAN have all 3 weapon types on and all 3 defense types (this is a hypothetical to prove a point) space permitting of course. Even if you have the wrong defence type VS a weapon, you still get the square root of it to defend with <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Tong
Driver Date: 1/23/2003 19:10:48 I cannot say you don't have other problems, but you definitely need to get the latest video drivers. As for the swap if you can't swap 2 GB go as much as possible. It may not be "pretty" as he says but it may work.. If you do get a title screen go under options and disable as much as you can.
Things like recession/economic boom, ultradrive, smart 50% bonus to research, wave of xenophobia, period of rapid pop. growths, etc.. are not mega events. They can happen w/o mega events enabled and also were in GC2. Jagged Knife is example of mega event. Or the plague..
If I understand this correctly, I'm concerned about the possibility of cheese. Couldn't I simply go to a civ every eight weeks and give them 1 BC or some minor tech, thereby preventing them from talking with anyone else for the entire game? Well NO. It don't work like that. You're preventing them from trading with you, and they are free to talk
Maybe a slider for percentage of planets being non-favorable: from none to abundant Good ideas all. I'd like to be able to increase the % myself. A larger % if player so chooses means slower initial rush, and more emphasis on getting infrastructure and techs going.
Yep yep. Cookies for all the devs.
I'll just say about pirates from historical perspective, they were opportunists. A country having a large navy didn't always deter pirates. What did - was how close was any war vessels nearby. Easy targets were plundered. Pirates only took great risk when the booty was legendary, sacking a rich city or hunting the spanish silver fleet. Pirates looked for targets of opportunity that were always in their favor or thought they could win.
