Out of character, wanted to poke my head in and say HI. I hadn't really said anything since joining the empire. I didn't need that many join empire requests. I started upping my difficulty and kicking it up a notch. I'm sure this will help, my scores are now worth 3-4x when I first started.

If you don't think its dying compare SHELF space at a gaming store. 5+ shelves for every console and barely 1 for PC. :SURPRISED: :SURPRISED: I never would have believed it, but its the way of EB/Gamestop
I say right now Dells and HPs are cheap enough thru Newegg or QVC that its really cheap to get a good one and pay for it if you're not willing or able to go the building route. We just got a HP thats an AMD Phenom Quad-core with 6GB, Vista 64 bit, combo drive 500gb HD, Nvidia graphics card 9300 (its not really a gaming rig) all for around $750 and free shipping. HP too. It was more expensive to build my dual-core gaming rig than this. XP is going the way of no support
My gameplay experience of late is almost identical to RhetoricalSun's. Diff is Painful or Crippling and map sizes medium. Every race I've gone up against has played their best and colonize well. Torians are the galaxy's cockroaches. I do use ctrl-n a little and haven't noticed any gimping at all. I'll try upping the map size but I seriously doubt its that.
Mass Effect is an awesome game on the 360. I WAS looking forward to the PC release mainly due to modders which add "life" to length of games. However, if I can not get a version without Securom or Starforce, I will not purchase it. Also I don't pirate, the point is I don't want that piece of trash on my machine in addition to the hassles that the copy protection schemes bring. Securom == Starforce (In terms that they are both bullshit and no one should ever buy a
I want to go back the NWN post. I agree with NWN2 being very high end and most systems that could play the first game can't w/o serious upgrades altogether or getting a new rig entirely. The Blu-Ray thing I feel for you. Having to replace a DVD drive means the software company who made that piece of trash is blacklisted in my book. I did not purchase Heroes of Might and Magic V because of hearing about destroyed drives and granting root access. Also I want to say lets no
Painful feels like Maso... It's like the whole scale is up 1. I swear normal and tough aren't like they used to be either.
I'd like to give you honest answers. But, I'd clearly mess up due to my not knowing how it's going to be in the 'final' version. I can tell what things are like in the beta. Each race has their own tree. There are a few similarities and sometimes its completely different. Some instances races have the same things but different names or better/worse versions of it. Example: Humans can start out building traditional factorys. Whilst the Drengin build slave pits. The Torians a centr

Updated Economy. Mo money.
Rock on. Really you had me at Hello! But all the goodies are just groovy.
I have to agree with that. The Yor is bad enough. But conquer them, they're your influence. Speed on. The damn galactic council restriction? Leave. The yucky speed event = screwed.
My initial impression was "Yay! New Screen! Cool! " after seeing a few dozen times now. The flag waving thing... I hope thats just a placeholder for the real awesomeness. I am not asking for real time, just something to better represent troops than Flags. I am thinking of being shown movies about what kind of invasion tactic I chose. If I use Tidal Disruption I better see some drowning Drengins!! Last thoughts, Kudos for Stardock the expansion as a whole is just WO
I don't know about making managing the fleets and planets more crucial, but it sure makes micromanaging essential to get by.
In my race selection screen and the racial setup/pick your abilities. The Altarians have a -20% Weapons. I don't see any other race with any negatives. This has to be a bug right ?
Is there going to be an option where "Unique" means it's useless to other races?
* Do you still play Civilization IV? * What did you think of the "Warlords" expansion pack? * What do you think of the "Beyond the Sword" expansion pack? * Is a new version of Civilization about to be released that I should just wait for? * What other strategy games do you think are better than Civilization?
1)Yes. 2)It's good for a non-Stardock expansion pack. 3)Probably the best expansion for Civ ever. 4)Nope. 5) I just can't say Civ 4
ToTA is soo great its awesome. Its soo wow mind blowing.
In short everyone has their opinion. Like well uh, I can't quote that. Anyways, My own opinion is that the thread starter is wrong. I will not insult their intelligence or lack of, nor their upbringing.. nor... Anyways. GCII a great game. Still some haters out there
Awesome stuff in this thread. Can't wait to see it in the TotA Beta!!
Absolutely love WindowBlinds.
I'm so excited I pre-ordered it! Stardock = Awesome Thank you for keeping GalCiv fresh and fun.
SUH-weet. In regards to Mr. Robot. Cool Work Yarlen. Good job! All the reviews not just the robot
*A Star Wars total conversion mod for GC2/DA. *Chrono-Trigger. Re-polish the old classic and let us play it on our next gen consoles/PC. Also make a new game in the line. *Suikoden 6 where are you. 3 is tied with 5 for my Fav, but 4 still has a bad taste in my mouth. *Some GENIUS at Squeenix gets the bright idea to make all the final fantasy games released (FF 1 through 10 ) in a compilation playable on next gen consoles/pc. Throw in a free trial or something for
As a modder who has made events in both Gal Civ games, I can tell you a few things from the xml file, one is that there are basically two types 1) When you colonize a planet and 2) It can happen anywhere/anytime. I am trying to remember from my head but there is a frequency variable which determines how common or rare the event is. So not all events are equal in frequency. I would have to agree with the OP. I don't even call it random anymore because I've seen nearly all
Would it be possible to have a starbase manager and or screen for that ? When I say manager I mean the computer controlling designated constructor type ships once they're built, sending them across your territory and fortifying your defenses. I am trying to get even less micro or away from it as possible. I know the AI can handle this, it does it for itself. Though maybe add some player controlled directions, like the sliders for mil/econ/influence/mining resources and the co
I'd like to say again, the main reason why no multi-player in an expansion is the lack of interest in that feature. Show Stardock some numbers (when asked, there has been several polls already from pre DA days even). I believe not enough people have said yes at the right time or perhaps just gave too much credit to a few long threads where it seemed like "lots" were interested in it. Personally, I know I am not a big fan of the idea. It's the fact that I usually save my prog
