I think so. Smart Exception helps a bit ore but this is better than nothing. Did you hve a ship selected that was in orbit? Or were you looking at your ship list? The offset is what's important.

Doing the right thing can be hard. Few civilizations are able to do so. Take the United States: "Your colonists hvae come across a vast pre-industiral society that is inhabiting large portions of the continent. What should we do?" A) We will simply not move into any territory they currently occupy [-40% to economy) B) We will round them up and put them into reservations on small areas of land that won't affect us (-5% to economy) C) Excellent, ens
Ok, I'll do a poll.
Minor races aren't going away. I'm sorry you don't like them. Minor races are there to a certain degree precisely so that you can have low level, winnable wars. They are there to be preyed upon to a certain degree.
Bryce? That's a real stretch. There's no button that will make a skin for you. What we hope to have is for the meta format be able to take what parts you do create and extrapolate for the parts you don't or can't do. Nothing is going to magically create your title bars and borders for example. 3 years ago, a "complete" WindowBlinds skin was essentially title bar, borders, title bar buttons. That's in. An hour or two of work. By WindowBlinds 3, a full skin takes about 35 hours
Tech, it's a BETA for christ's sake. Sometimes I swear you act like every build is the shipping version. Do you really think thta the final game is going to have a race called the Bradians with a picture of me? In the next build they'll be sticking only to their sectors. The point of this build was to see how the new AI personalities would behave.
I don't think that'll get into 1.0 though but in 1.x yes.
No fleet bonuses because it would turn the game into each side building a mega fleet and going around attacking. That is something i've seen in coutnless strategy games that really ruins the fun for me.
Great feedback! Here are some things that are being implemented for 1.0 already and some things that will be in 1.x: For 1.0: * A yearly status report. This will be a news dialog that says in plain english what is going on in the galaxy along with some interesting planets. Example: In the top right corner of the news report it might list the top 5 planets. Then in the main part it'll say: "The war between the Drengin Empire and Arcean Empires conti
The only part we need is the part where it says it "exception at 00001:03432a42" part.
I'm not sure how tha'ts even possible. Something must be affecting the planet quality ability. Could you send me your saved game? ([email protected])
Risk: , you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Talk about a complete distortion of the facts. ObjectDock has been around for 2 years. A build was leaked accidentally a year ago. It precedes y'Z dock by a long amount (and it could be argued that the reason these other docks even exist was due to the excitement generated by the ObjectDock leak of last year). And about stealing id
Well there are now 2000 WindowBlinds skins on this site alone. Obviously there have been a lot more created that were lost with Skinz.org's demise as well as elsewhere. Plus an equal number that never saw the light of day here because they were rips or essentially duplicates (i.e. "It's Luna but a slightly different shade of blue.."). A year ago today there were 1,416 skins here. It probably doesn't come as a shock that we monitor the # of skins being made in various formats. I
The first WindowBlinds skins began being submitted to the library at the beginning of 1999. My first few skins were ports (with permission) of Kaleidoscope skins on the Mac (www.kaleidoscope.net). It took 2 years for WindowBlinds to get up to that first 1,000 skins. And about a year and a half to get to the second thousand. That comes out to be about 1.5 skins per day with the amount being somewhat higher in 2002 than in 2001 which goes to show that skinning is becoming much m
For those of you who anwered that you think GalCiv will be a good strategy game but not a classic, what types of things do you think we need to add either by 1.0 or in the 1.x series? One thing to be aware of, the betas do not include any of the really large multimedia. There's about 10 minutes of full motion video that outlines the story to the game and goes over the back plot as well as takes you through the various winning scenarios. They really help give the game a more epic feel
The repair module makes star bases repair at a much faster rate. They don't affect ships in the current sector. In the post 1.x series, there will be a lot more types of modules for star bases.
I tend to agree. This needs to be tweaked.
When you add multiplayer, you basically eliminate the ability to add in new features quickly like we've been doing because of the additional design and implementation work.
Okay, after playing tonight I definitely found it to be a pain in the butt to move ships around later in the game when you have a bunch. So here's what I was thinking: Flag ship unit. When you have a flag ship, you can move ships onto a flag ship and with a click combine them (and another click would uncombine them). When you attack with the flag ship, it picks the best ship in the group for attack. Downsides: 1) They only get as many moves as th
Oh I strongly disagree. I think the new ships are much more themed than the OS/2 version. It's just tha tthe OS/2 version was able to rip off from various stuff.
Oh it can be done. What I'm going to do with minor races is have it where they pretty much stick to their home sectors rather than trying to expand. So they'll be butt kickers in the sectors they start out in but no really try to expand into the galaxy. So the real distinction btween minor races and major races is that the minor races arne't going to try to take over the galaxy.
You can't trade trade goods that you've licensed from from others. And once they've licensed them to you, they can't re-license them. I.e. it's working as designed.
That could drive them a little bit into the read but not nearly -342432423. That sort of thing is caused by someone using a ULONG instead of a LONG when dealing with treasury.
'fraid not. I'd never heard of this game until today and I designed GalCiv.
