What I miss from GC OS/2

The abillity to tell a ship to go home.
If you can tell a battleship to return to its home planet and do not know how.

The abillity to put a colony ship in orbit around a colonized planet. The colony ship you could use to distribute population latter and the colony ship adds to the defense of the system.

The colours in a sector. In the OS/2 game you knew without question you owned a sector the sector was the colour of the race in control. Why are space games dark. I know space is dark but space is also a vaccuum I do not stop breathing when I play GC.

In the OS/2 game the planets had ships in orbit in the Windows game the ships you see seem to be the total number of ships in the system.

In addition to the things Technician mentions here are more things I miss:

The ability to load/unload colonists/troops from specific planets. In GC/Win colonists can be unloaded to a single planet (one already colonized) but the colony ship dissappears. Transports can only be unloaded to all the planets in a star in an even distribution. An alternative that would work just as well would be some method of redistributing the population between planets of a star, or even between planets of different stars.

The ability to move troops onto a transport without launching the transport.

in the os/2 version, the galaxy map could go full screen, had a title bar that let you position it on the screen.

'In the OS/2 game you knew without question you owned a sector the sector was the colour of the race in control. '

It does here, too, if the 'show sector owners' button is turned on. The problem is that the colors used for the Terrans, Drengin, and Arceans are hard to see in the dimmed shades used for sector ownership and colonized planets.

The colours were brighter in the OS/2 game.

I also liked how the different civilization's ships tended to have a common "theme" to them. Even in black and white, one could tell a Torian ship from a Drengin ship from an Imperial ship from a Yor ship. While the new GC ships look nicer, that thematic look seems to be gone.

Oh I strongly disagree. I think the new ships are much more themed than the OS/2 version.

It's just tha tthe OS/2 version was able to rip off from various stuff.
