MODS: Im not sure on the policy of reporting such bugs. So (of course) delete this post if you see fit to do so.
One thing I do really like in GalCiv 1 is the ability to give yourself that little extra kick to get over a hump, or to address the 'what if' scenario. Often games do not come with 'cheat features' built in so you have to work the system. This happens to be one of the things that I enjoy doing, manipulate a system (without hacking) to my advantage. At times this can take the fun out of a game pretty quickly, after all its the challenge we are after. If its handed to us easily, then you can loose that high from smashing your enemies that can only be acquried by grueling effort. Nevertheless I still enjoy the challenge of trying to manipulate a given system.
I am posting this exploit/bug for two reasons. One because that is what i'm suppose to do as a beta tester, two to give some folks some added punch in the start of the game, even on beginner mode I was often being slaughtered (beta 2 I didnt have the same problem)
The bug:
You can give youself quite an advantage in the game by creating your own Race. Now the bug is not in the creation of your new Race its the editing/loading races that you have created.
Step 1. Create A New Race (give yourself some techs and the max for planet quality bonus, any bonus will work) and save.
Step 2. Create a 2nd New Race (give yourself different techs than the 1st one and a different bonus) and save
Note: Step one and Step two must be saved as different names. You can create more than 2, but this example just uses two.
Now on the main screen when you choose what race you will be choose your new race (on the far right) then click the edit option. Note your abilities (like planet quality bonus) and your technologies that you start with.
Now click load any of the two saved races you have. You should now notice that they stacked with your previous stats. You can continue to click load and stack stats, if the technolgies you selected were different in the two saved races then you obtain both sets. You are limited in how far down the tech tree you can use but not limited in bonuses. Example: I continued to load a race until I had a 120% Planet Quality bonus. When I Started the game I had a quality 22 planet to start the game with.
Note: You will be unable to save your super race, when starting a new game you will have to "click and load" until you have the stats / techs you desire.

ATTENTION PLEASE NOTE:
This post could cause beta testing problems if used. Example: giving yourself 1000% courage bonus could potentially crash the system when its used in a calculation. If you decide to use the above method and run into a bug that you re-create the bug without using the method above to ensure that the exploit is not the source of the problem.
