Well I started a new game and designed a medium hulled ship and then started to build it..... No announcement or cut scene vid once it was complete
vimes2004
Playing 1.1 beta 4b, and other previous versions, I noticed that you got an announcement and a cut scene video when you made your first medium classed ship. Now unless I have got it wrong I have made my own medium class ship and got no such announcement or video clip with the final 1.1 patched game. Has anyone else noticed this or have I missed something...?
Better support for modding (full-blown mod UI coming in v1.2). This has to be a must have. Games like RTW, Oblvion, Civ 4 etc etc etc continue to do well due to their modding capability, imo.
The stand-alone update is now live. On the downloads page. Awesome - many thanks
There is usually a "show pre-release" button at the bottom of the screen. If that is checked, you won't see new "final" installs but you should see the betas. Thanks for that - tried both ways still no joy with getting back to the 1.1 beta4b Still at least this post might help a few others not do the same as I did. I have read in the journal regarding the ne
the new udate is out 1.10.14 dl it it should fix ur prob and no german not in it yet;) SC is still showing me 1.10.12 so where is the 1.10.14 that you mention...?
Yes I know that the 1.0x is the old version I hoped by posting this it might serve as a warning to others that at this moment in time SC is showing 1.1 available BUT it will update your version to 1.0x. And the 1.1 beta 4b is no longer there to download. Hopefully it will be sorted soon.
I upgraded through SC and found that my game is now 1.0x I have posted about this, hoping that others would avoid doing it.
Hello I had version 1.1 beta 4b installed and couldn't resist checking if an update was available, and yes it was - 1.10.012 was showing as an update for me to download through SC. Awesome, me thinks, and so off I start the download only to find that the game is now version...1.0x (dated 3rd March) and yet SC is showing that I have version 1.1 installed. The interface and 'goodies' from the 1.1 beta 4b are gone and so it looks lik
Great news that is has got some new music BTW: You don't have to bump your post for it to appear. There is a delay, at times, between a post being placed and it appearing in the forums.
Rally points or dodgy strategy it just seemed that a greater part of the Altarian ships were motionless, in redundant stacks, doing nothing when approached. The other stacks, equally as large, just stayed motionless letting me destroy each one as an individual ship rather than within a fleet. This type of 'clumping' behaviour just takes believability from the game, in my opinion.
Hello The Altarians have just gone to war with me and whilst I am within their area of space I have noticed several stacks of their ships like this..... http://img247.imageshack.us/my.php?image=galciv2exe07ud.jpg As you can see they have several escort type ships that they leave clumped together, not in a fleet formation, and it is as though for the duration of the war they are forgotten about. There are three other sta

I do feel for people who either don't have Internet access or a dial up only as it has almost become manditory now to fix a game by the many, often large, downloads that seem to follow within a short period of time a games release. I am not writing about extra game functionality or incompatability with hardware, nor am I referring to this game only, but there does seem to be very few games released today that do not need fixing, and often, through patc
BTW $20 for a good single player expansion --> Without a second thought!! Yup I've got to agree with that one. But a NO from me for the MP. I have often found that a MP aspect to a game only props up a poorly implemented SP game. Concentrate on what is good about this game, please
Debug Message: Version v1.1 BETA 4A last updated on: Tue Apr 18 13:16:01 2006 Since you are using the 'beta' to play the game you might want to update to the latest one, version 1.1 beta 4b. Not sure if it will help your problem but the latest beta did fix a lot of bugs. There might be a problem with loading older saved games when you install the latest beta patch. In fact this was in the readme from the lats patch, the one that
I had never played a 4X game before and so my first impressions were not much different from some of those echoed in the review. However through these forums, and reading many reviews and other peoples opinions, I decided to work my way through those and found they changed, totally. Whilst I think there are some real shortcomings to the game I akin it to a rough diamond, in need of a polish. What some seasoned veterans of this series ne
As the other person has suggested popping over to http://www.ati.com and get the latest drivers for your graphics card which might help, yours are quite old being dated 12.1.2004. You might want to see if you can get some newer drivers for your sound device as well.....9/16/2002 is very old for those. Maybe here could be a start for your search for new audio drivers..... http://www.avance.com/<b
This is the first 4x game that I have ever played and so can't comment on the OP's points regarding MOO. But has anyone tried out the following game..... Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators http://www.gamingtrend.com/GameInfo/GameInfo.php?GameID=4491 Even though I have the the above review I still value the opinions of the people on this board before I would buy the game, I haven't got a lot of cash and so if anyone has h

I continued with that game for a while and the more planets that I took from the Drengin the less I was able to understand their choice of build priority. Then again I have yet to capture a planet in any game and been happy enough that the tiles have been optimally used for the race's chosen path of victory. Ramping up to the 'tough' level of play doesn't seem ot influence the build choice any better either <img src="http://images
damn looks like I'm the sucker then
No the tech trading is not swiched off. I realised when I placed this post it is a sort of impossible question that I set for people to respond to as they are without knowledge of the size of the galaxy and the size of the Drengin empire and PQ of their worlds. As the game is progressing I am just a little dissapointed, just moved up to the challenge level of gameplay, of the choices that the AI is making at times when it decides what
Hello I am playing at the ‘challenging’ level and I have just captured a planet from the Drengin empire and found… Link For those players that are a little more experienced with understanding what the AI should consider an optimum planet development like to comment on the above please..?
