Reply to Great Game in Modding

Well just to help you people out with a little more detail.... I was getting criticised for being on GC II for too long so..... I bought RCT3 and then installed it on my wifes machine, asking her to play it for a while as it kept crashing on mine. After she played it for a couple of hours that was it she is now hooked I never make a co

Maybe. But on the other hand, the forums, at a casual glance don't seem that "yeehaw" to me. Lots of negativity in there IMO. Are you really serious...!!!! You really need to spend a little more time in some other gaming forums if you believe that there is a lot of 'negativity' here. I have always thought that these forums seems a little sanitised and artificial in the lack of

Being the evil bastard that I am, I offer them peace for a bunch of techs. Then I'll attack them again. Would it not be possible, when you agree peace terms, that each side is obligated for 10 turns or so to maintain that agreement or if they break it then either trade or economic sanctions is place upon the aggressor...?

I have an ATI 850XTPE with an AMD Opteron running at 2800 and 2GB of RAM. As soon as a start to run the game I too notice that the fan on the graphics card starts to increase in speed and so produces more noise. I run the game at 1280x1024 with 6xAA. The case temperature is cool and the ambient room temp is cool (I hate the climate at the moment in the UK - its cold and I'm a wimp). I do find that Oblivion does the same though, regarding the fan noise.

If you decide to use the 1.1 beta 4 patch, or the 1.1 final when it is released, you will notice that the normal level of gameplay is a lot easier. I noticed previous to the 1.1 patch that there was a huge jump from the beginner levels to normal, now this isn't the cae. So either I have got a little better, which might be possible, or the transition between levels isn't as great, which is most likely.

Will the difficulties balance themselves out on harder difficulties? Not meaning to sound offensive but just try it out and see. The beta patches have made it a lot easier to get a victory at the 'normal' level of play but I do find it a little more difficult at the next level 'challenging'.

Hello Sorry if I have missed a thread where this should be placed but I have just had a crash when playing the latest beta build. I was not pressing the end turn but during the AI's move it simply crashed. The err log is as follows.... Debug Message: Version v1.1 BETA 4 last updated on: Wed Apr 12 18:45:12 2006 Debug Message: Could not find a TGN Serial No. Debug Message: *********DXDiag info follows.*****

Another one for you to look at.... An Error Occurred There was a problem opening this page. Please refresh the page and try again. Whatever you were trying to do, it didn't work out the way you expected. You could always return to the Home Page. Please arrange for a new hamster to be fitted I am not too sure about the validity of the last line though <img src="http://images.stardock.

If you look under 'help' of the SDC you will see that you can email Stardock at..... [email protected] ....I would try and do that as the latest beta patch adds so much to the game, as well as fixing many issues. When you have the SDC open am I right in assuming that because you can't go through the verification process there is little point in using the functions in the 'Tool' menu of the application to help you...?

No doubt I am missing something here but what has the persons browser got to do with...... As such, I've downloaded SDC. It installs fine, and upon loadup I'm presented with the "enter your name, email and password." No problem, I've already got all that jazz. Enter the data and I click next. And I wait. And wait. And wait. And wait some more. Nothing happens. The SDC, for me, often does that when I am trying to

In the readme of the beta patch it states....... + New Option: Randomize player intelligence. This will scramble opponent intelligence by around +/- 10 points to have more variance. So I assume it will mean +/- 10 from the level of difficulty chosen. I was just thinking that myself as I need a little more of a challenge now on the 'normal' setting. I might even try 'challenging' with the randomise option.

I first found out about GAL Civ II from.... comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.strategic The countless posts, reading over many months, about GC I and then GC II suggested that there might be something worth looking at This has been my very first experience of playing this type of game; I really thought I wouldn't enjoy it at all. AFAIK bumping does not work with these boards, then again not much else works with them either You probably realise now that it is good practice to remove a demo of a game / application before you install the full one - at least that is what I d

I found a huge jump in game difficulty from playing at the beginner level to then going to the normal one. What has made a difference was using the latest 1.1 beta 3 patch. I do believe that there have been efforts made to address the difficulty levels, making it easier at the lower ones. Whether that affects the normal level of gameplay, to the extent that I'm finding, or I'm just getting better I don't know. But I do know that playing a large ma

Unlike you I am V-E-R-Y glad that Stardock decided to emphasise the single player aspect of this game as they have, imo, excelled themselves in doing that. I suppose if they had tried to build in a multiplayer part then that could have only taken away development time, as well as future patching and improving the SP (single player) aspect, which countless reviews have judged them to have done a fantastic job in achieving a formidable set of AI o

Does this help you at all...? Link BTW - I am using the latest 1.1 beta 3 patch and I think that there are a number of improvments made to the way that the population develops since the first version of the game, which you state you are using. If you do not wish to use the latest beta you could update your game to the latest retail (non beta) patch. If you did up

@Empyrean - I do not understand how you came to think that the OP's attitude "sucks" or that he has "attacked the honesty of Stardock" I read his post and found it to be well constructed, with actual examples that illustrate the posters concerns, and would like to read an explanation as to how the events unfolded the way that they did, which might be reflective of the difficulty level the game was played at. - as mentioned. This seems to happen for a number of people, myself included. It does seem to be certain ships, regardless of your logistics level, can't ever be grouped into a fleet. Nobody seems to be able to resolve it and I would hope, as I reported it in the bugs section (but got no reply, posts entitled "Occasional fleet formation problem") that someone from Stardock is aware of this and would be able to resolve it. I would hope that Stardock mi

What an awesome creation. I would love to follow this thread, but the watch feature never works on this forum As I have a high end (ish) PC I would love to see ships that have a greater than average poly count. How many poly's before a big slow down would occur I am not sure but no doubt you will test that <img src="http://images.stardock
