It's totally the torians in my game. they started by somehow outcolonizing me by 20 planets, unheard of with them on bright in the past. Then they opened up a can on the drengin and korx, which my giving them both ships didn't help much(I saw the threat and tried to help the others). Only category i have stayed ahead of them in is research by setting it at 70%. That will be the difference though, cause when i decided to knock them down a peg, my 100 ships are ripping through their 900. <img src=

The military rating seems to mostly count quantitiy of ships and not quality. Many games I've had lower mil. ratings but when attacked, my ships would just mop the floor with them. Also if they have a fully upgrade military starbase or two that will boost the rating as well.
Sounds like A debate forming, heh. I have to say I like the economy better now. Seems like a smoother transition, from not having to completely dropp taxes for 100% approval at the beginning. To increasing them incrementaly over time, not jerking the rate way up and down. Which would make real citizens drag you out of the capitol feet first. Later in the game it takes longer to get to that money making com
make sure your "Disable ship textures" is not checked in the options menu. That is what they looked like when i was playing with that setting once.Other than that IDK.
ok thanks. I'll try SE since after seeing the other thread it seems reproducable. Yes it is two monitors and it runs pretty good up to large. Huge can get a little jumpy, so i just stay in tact. view most time. I don't think i could go back to the limited view after playing this way for last couple months.
I am nearing the end of my first game on the 1.3 final, and I've run into a bug with the Drath. I noticed that any ships they were given by others, myself included they moved maybe a couple of spaces. After that they just sat the rest of the game and whenever i'd check them they always had 0 movement left. Not sure if the AI was passing their turns or what but they never moved. O.K. The Crash. Same Game I was placing some planetary improvements and realized i needed a virtual reality ce
I'd personally be interested, but not if it take devs time away from DA. Maybe they could have another staff member work on it or something.
Have you tried loading the end game save again and do try it again. That's how i have to submit, cause I shut down my connection while playing. So I have to leave the game after it fails to post. Then I just load that and it posts after the fact.
I have A Fx5500 and the game gives me no ctd's just gets a little slow down late game, and your card is better than mine , so it should run ok unless it has gone south(watch for overheating) or bad drivers. I also had a issue with Nvidia's 91.31 drivers and this game, so you might wanna check those too. I 've had no problems though with either the march driver or the newest one yet.
I ahve been running on a XP3000, 512pc-2100ddr, Geforce FX5500 256MB, and a very old phillips sound card. and up until last beta had no crashes in two months. Now I've just had one, when a freak draw on a fleet battle happened it just died to desktop otherwise just can't stop playing.
That helps and trade with them. Also if your ethical alignment is different it will be more difficult. I also try to help them with gift ships during their wars with others . I've had civs surrender to me while fighting others quite a bit more often by trying to help when they ask even if it is lost cause, so I just give crappy outdated defenders. AI still seems to like the effort
ahhh... Thanks For the clarification:) I actually adjusted quickly and like the changes. Makes me work the pop and morale a little more for good results.
You need to have a "close' Relationship, even though in past builds you could get alliance on friendly , but that was not intended
Does any one know how the new morale is implemented? Granted i'm on my second game since getting the new beta, but it seems to me to be base more dependeant on tax rate than before. With my custom race on previous builds, I would got to 0% tax at the beginning and get about 93% morale, which would build to 100% in a few turns. Later i could be pretty aggressive with the tax hikes. Now I get 100% morale of the bat but i have to be more conservative with my rate increases early on. Seems just gear
Goto Microsoft and search their downloads for Application Compatibility Toolkit. It has gotten games all the way back to '94 to work on XP for me. Hope This Helps:)
I got tired of the ai surrendering to others also, so I just try to time it when they get low on planets(4 or 5) I Blitz the rest in one turn. Gives them no choice.
I always just use designations to mark the components, say G-0 would be the design , G-1 the first component filled model , G-2 And so on. Then next game each is available at the right tech level.
your relations need to be "close i think and both of you have to have the alliances tech
1. Are you sure you filled the transports? 2. Be sure there troop transports and not colony. 3. Umm... Can't think of any more(they have moves left right?) some of that sounds obvious to most, but not sure how long you been playin'
I was wondering how the story would be viewed once generated. If it would be in game or through notepad, maybe both. I'm pretty sure you will be able to, but I want to be able to add my own parts and such personalize it a little more for posting and such, as there will no doubt be a lot posted. I'm looking forward to reading and posting them.
I usually use 1000m troop transprts in fleets of four so there will be 4b attacking and if i lose less than 1b then i still got fleet of three on to the next planet. heh seems like a lot of diff strats. I also like to get about seventy moves on them later so i can hit them from the production point same turn a lot of times.
K Thanks Guys. I was originally under the impression that it was a certain amount of turns after rebelling till flipping. Now I know
In the last couple of games i've played i have had enemy planets that will be rebeling to me(or trying to)for years and never actually flip. I'll have like x5.23 influence on them the whole time. Other times though they flip rather quickly in the first few turns. I was wondering if theres' something im not doing right on the ones that won't flip, but then again i had two in the same system one flipped quick the other rebeled the entire rest of the game, but never flipped. Any thoughts? Thanks:)
I remember a UP starbase tax on those outside your influence, but can't remember other limits. And why does UP always go after the evil guy .When they do that, I watch who which way they vote and go after the ones that vote against me first. That'll teach'em
Thats a sweet lookin planet i hope it gets approved
