I think I found my issue with the shutdown speed. My Asus probe doesn't like to play nice and shutdown when told to. Sometimes it throws up the force shutdown dialogue. If i shut it down ahead of time Win7 shutsdown quite a bit quicker. :)

GPG used to be a great company, but with their last few releases it really seems like they just want to start the next project and never take the time to properly fix what they have out. Hugely disappointing. Chris Taylor may be legend in PC gaming, but his legacy is being dragged down by his more recent acts. Now saying all of that, and wanting to really not like SupCom2 I got surprised. I actually enjoyed the game and have played through the campaign twice thus far. It just feels li
Mod uploads had been broke for a while and it doesn't seem like anyone is interested in fixing it. Some people have been using I-Mod Productions to upload their GC2 mods.
I've seen some Karma fluctuations in the past. I think sometimes they get shuffled between forums somehow. One time someone gave me 1 karma on one site and 9 showed up, yet it just seemed to be moving karma I had from one of the other SD forums and counting it. It's strange at times.
Awesome! Thanks [e digicons][/e] Edit:Hmm, Started up Impulse to grab the update and it is showing TA as available and not installed when it sure enough is. I guess I'll just have it reinstall it over top of the other one.
Spaceforce: Rogue Universe is an open world space/flight sim kind of game. I tried it awhile back and thought it might be pretty good, I just suck at space combat sims. Great graphics too, but you might want to try a demo if available as some people love it and some seem to either have technical issues or don't like it for whatever reason.
Until this ability is developed, OnLive will literally have to be running one graphics card per session. And that means, logistically, it would be one computer per session. The only true "cloud" part would be the servers that would handle encoding of the video.
I've been reading up about the onlive thing. While they seem to be trying to keep whatever miracle tech they have under wraps, it is said they will be using virtualization to run several games off one PC for less
Is it me or has anyone noticed that it does seem to take Win7 a while to shutdown in comparison to XP(never used Vista). While I know the focus(in ads and such) has been on startup and coming out of hibernation speeds, which it does seem to do a tick faster than XP, but the shutdown takes about twice as long with basically the same amount of third party stuff running. Usually it's something not noticed, but I am one to stay in the room till I hear it totally shutdown just in case so I notice
I love how it has Duke Forever in the bottom corner with a question mark on it :D
Another thing you can do with the iPad. Since I bought a Pontiac G8 GT I've been on the G8 forums and this gentleman put an iPad in his car to display gauges to monitor his car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFLtQ6dBPjE&feature=player_embedded
That's actually a pretty sweet setup he's got. Thanks for sharing :)
Yea, They're still pricey at the moment, but hopefully it won't take them long to drop with the 480/470s hitting the street recently. Just got through reading a review of the 480s and man, it's kinda disappointing. Here six months after ATI's DX11 offerings and they can only come close to matching the 5xxx series in certain games. I could be considered an Nvidia fan, but even I'm not stupid enough to pay almost double for the same performance. Hopefully my 260/260s can carry me past t
Supposedly you only need about the same amount of processing power as playing a movie, or less really since the your machine isn't even having to actually play it, just display it. A somewhat speedy single-core, integrated graphics and minimal RAM to play Crysis. That could be one of the few upsides to the whole ordeal. If it even works.
Coolness. Thanks guys. I'm glad I will be able to still use this with the newer ones if need be, though I will try to find the exact card if possible. I forget about ebay. I'll give that a looksee as well [e digicons][/e]
I was hoping some of the gurus here on the forums could help me out with a couple of question. I have a BFGTech Gtx 260OC, the 192 Processor core version. My system can go Tri-SLI, but it seems hard to find that exact card now. It's either the 216 core version or the Maxcore 240 version that I can find. Newegg still has it listed, but unavailable and Bfg's site doesn't even list that one in their available products anymore. So my question is would these updated versions still
I'll just do another post. I just tried it with the off topic section of GC2 forums. and I can't see anything from it's four subforums. That's how it's supposed to work right?
I just tried to check it for ya but it seems every time I hit "save changes" it removes the check from the box. Is your check staying when you hit save? Edit:NM I went back and it took after hitting save a few more times. Now I just need to see if it's working ReEdit: I just checked using your links Mumble and I can't see the posts from the sub in the main either. I'll do some more checking though.
I just went and poked around Onlive's site gathering some info and they do make it sound enticing. I like the idea of being able to take my game from my PC and continue it on my TV or wherever I want and the initial lineup of games isn't sounding bad at all. But alas I may already be excluded if I wanted to try it, at least for high res. Says it'll run standard def off 1.5 connection, no biggie there. It's HD though that may get me saying they need 5Mbps. That's right at my DSL and I

What seems to be happening is that at some points the editor goes wild trying to insert a bunch of html code. If you're editing in normal mode you of course won't see the bogus html but your cursor will act strange and not sequence smoothly over text. Also the delete key and/or the backspace key will no longer function. If y
Thanks for the improvements, I always missed having spellchecker here to keep me from sounding totally uneducated :) I've had a couple of strange freeze ups in the past couple of hours on galciv forums though. Once the entire browser froze while looking at the recent posts list. I had to grab the titlebar and pull it out of fullscreen for sec and it unfroze. The other was in the reply box. It was as if my KB stopped working. I had to click outside the box and back in to
Yea, I figure it to become a utility just like electricity instead of a luxury. Instead of tied to your address just tied to you and wherever you are you just login to the world wireless web. I guess then it will be more like a world wide shield instead of web since it will cover the earth solidly. :)
That's the box.
Haha [e digicons][/e] I guess I should off looked at the pic full size. You got me on that one [e digicons][/e]
Ackk!! I opened the thread and the glare off that pic about blinded me, Is there anything even on the screen [e digicons][/e] Sorry I had to do it :)
I have a friend in Australia and I was wondering how this is supposed to work for those countries that the entire internet business model is monthly/GB limits. That also includes most satellite internet users here in the US as well. Thinking about it, I could only see this becoming the norm if/when most of the world has affordable, low ping(re: no satellite), unlimited internet. Hopefully that is what the world is heading towards. Highspeed wireless from pole to pole, but it's still a ways of
Until everyone has reliable fast internet access I don't see it. Where I live if I moved 2 miles in any direction I would be stuck on dialup. Where I lived before this(and the area my Mom still lives) the best you can get is a 28K unstable as hell connection. They still have a long way to go to consider America connected enough for this to work. That's just an overall problem that most can agree on(at least those in these areas), but there is a lot of personal reasons I would never agree with
