Something interesting, XP CDs(and maybe other CDs as well) can only be installed three times before the CD corrupts.
Now that's a new one. I have installed off my XP CD probably 15 times over the years without issue. I had a similar issue last year with the Winantivrus 2009 malware virus thing. Would think I got it just for it to pop back up in couple of days. A new install was the only thing to stamp it out permanently. Not sure about XP since i've always had t

On one hand, charging for MP would effect me very little. On the other hand, it is just wrong. If they would actually reduce the price for SP only I might even go for it on a title or two, but we know that will never happen.
I have had it happen a time or two, but it must of been over three years ago. Is your game updated? It was so long ago I don't remember if I found a solution. I may have even had to start a new game.
TA does have a hole in the diplomacy regarding that, but it is really up to how you feel personally whether it's an exploit or not. In a single player game there's no one to cheat but yourself. :)
Wow. Seems assbackwards to give people all the origin stories and freedom of character choices just to go back to RPG basics with the sequel.
The best thing we could hope for is that all the talent that made Blizzard great will leave to form their own studio and Give Activision the finger. Assivision seems to be doing all they can to forever tarnish a once great company.
While you gain an advantage early on, it can hurt you later not having all the abilities you passed on for speed. Population growth, Economics and Morale are all ones that can have a huge impact as the game goes on, whilst +2speed seems less important as the turns pile up.
You only get the battle viewer during fleet to fleet combat IIRC.
I've been resisting tying any more games to Steam for a while now, but this one might have to be an exception.
So, back to the OP... Is there some place I can donate to the price on Kotick's head. Figure it shouldn't be too long till a (possibly slightly imbalanced) hardcore fan of one of the franchises he's trying to destroy goes to "talk" to him. I just hope they get the asswhoopin up on youtube.
The easiest way to get the mod to show in game is to navigate to your Documents/MyGames/GC2Twilight( or Ultimate Ed.'s equivalent) and find the Prefs.ini file . Open it with notepad and find the line that looks something like this: ModsDir=D:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Mods\High-Resolution Graphics Mod v1-2 Yours may be a little different being Ultimate edition, but close enough to the example. Just rewrite it to point to the HiRes mod's fold
Even though I don't console game anymore i still pay some attention to E3 for all the new gimmicks and such. The gimmicks though were the downside this year. At this point the consoles are getting old, sales rates are slowing and obviously MS and Sony have no new real hardware to show. Instead we get Kinect with things like Kinect Sports(sound familiar?) and an almost blatant ripoff of the Wiimote in Sony's Move. Nintendo is the only one that seems on the ball showing not only new hardware, b
I had the same thing a few years ago with Google's little spy proggy(Google was new, I was young*er.That's my story at least) Lesson learned and no one's toolbars have been on any of my browsers since.
That's why I was goading the ToE thread. Trying to stir a resurgence.
Yea, I saw that master plan of yours ;) . No disrespect to peeps like Maiden and Mumble, but with the speed with which you turn out games if anyone can be a one man meta wrecking crew... Too bad most the ToE guys don't even have GC2 installed anymore and none I have talked to have really shown an interest. For a while we had some non-forum going members putting up a few games here and there, b
Man! All this intensity and competitiveness makes me want to play again. Most active I've seen this section of the forum in a long time. After looking at the activity through the ALtmeta though, seems I'd be a one man empire [e digicons]:'([/e]

You muss be talkin to me cuz I don't see nobody else here." Kind of the truth though(the nobody else here part), I may be the only ToE to still visit the forums and I don't play much anymore. I try once in awhile to start up a game. I usually get through my favorite part, the colony rush but lose interest after that.
I'm not much for fighting games, but do get one every now and then if it looks fun enough. Last one was Dead or Alive 3 so I guess I'm about due and that new MK does look sweet. Played a bunch of UMK3 on Saturn back in the day.
Heya Kp :) . I am still perusing the forums daily, just most of my posting takes place in PCGaming or Off-Topic sections. I still play some GC2 for fun, or at least try to. It's actually difficult not use all that knowledge acquired heh.
We're all cheaters. Twisted this game up into something it was never meant to be eventually sucking the fun out(for me at least). I'm just glad to see there are those, whether it be peeps that came in later, or ones that have been able to keep the fire burning since the beginning still playing and keeping the community going. GC2 is still one of my top three favs ever and should live on.
Hmm. Lots of games. Do people buy games online? I can see why Impulse supports the applications and utilities but games?
Times, they are a changing. I said the same thing a few years ago, but now have bought more than 75 games through digital distribution. Stardock is a big reason for that as I had refused to buy from or even use DD before finding SD with their great customer relations and transparency. Won't be much reason to buy retai
After recently finding out DK2 works on Win7 64bit just fine I have been loving it. Even to the point of trying to find what game/modding engine I could possibly use to bring about a (mostly) graphical update to the DK series. Still trying to ascertain the strengths of a couple of engines to see if there's any possibility, though it will be a long process being just me. :) Sequels lately have been such a letdown for the most part that any more I fear hearing there's one in the pipes f
Wait, there are people who liked Invisible War? Yeap, maybe just me..lol.
Not having played the first I enjoyed Invisible War. I have it on the original Xbox and the game was a pretty good romp. I guess since peeps are so adamant about the first one I need to check it out sooner or later.
I had this problem with Logitech's mouse software running. Seems like setting it to universal scroll(what most use it for) makes it stop working in GC2. I just ended up disabling Logitech's crap since the mouse i have now doesn't need the extra buttons mapped.
