well in B5 most races only really had a state of the art capital ship and fighter. all the other ships basically only were older versions that were not yet replaced. thats why you dont see any Tinashi's after the Minbari replaced all of them with Sharlin's. and thats why both Vorlons and Shadows only have their main capital ships, fighters and weapons of mass destruction (VPK and shadow cloud). they reached their technological and biological peak. after that there was no reason to bui

nice work. as for Star Names, there werent that many actually named in the series beside the homeworlds like: Proxima (EA), Orion (EA), Io (EA), Taralenn (Minbari), Ragesh (Centauri), Epsilon (neutral, great maschine), Coreana (Neutral, where Sheridan owned the Shadows + Vorlons and later on died) and a couple more I cant remember. ^^ edit: if there were more "real" Minbari Ship-Designs Id convert them for GC2 in a heartbeat. Iam not fond of fake/fan-made ships though ^^

@kkFaTaL: those are Lightwave Models. I didnt succeed in the past to get those imported into Max or Blender. Most of the models never appeared in the show anyway and are pure fan-creations. doesnt mean we shouldnt add them, but means we should at least know who did them and if we are allowed to use them.

@Phantom Elite the folder your are describing is not your GC2 folder (probably in \my documents\). its just the place where the savegames and stuff go. the real GC2 folder by default is somewhere here: \program files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\

Meinst du mit dem Lightningbug das es von unten beleuchtet wird? Meine werden alle von oben beleuchtet, jedoch finde ich die Beleuchtung teilweise etwas zu stark. another thing Id like to see for modding is the capability to define the size of ship models on the galactic map as well as in 3D combat directly via the game or the XMLs. having to "guess" the right sizes out of the 3D Editor is a pain especially as there is some automatic scaling going on that you cant affect (for the different hull sizes: tiny, small...). so a ship currently may look too big on the galactic map, but too small in combat or vice versa. especially annoying when the ship is anim

also ich habs endlich soweit geschafft in meinem Spiel alle meine Modelle zu haben (Nova, Omega, Olympus, Hyperion und Warlock). Wie bereits zu sehen war ist die Omega recht klein geraten. Ich werde prüfen ob ich die größer machen kann, ohne, dass sie auf der normalen Karten riesengroß wird (das Problem hatte ich nämlich, deswegen wurde sie so klein gemacht, hängt mit der Animation zusammen). one question Frogboy, does the AI add jewelry to their ships on their own or does it use the base ship-configs and simply adds weapons/shields/engines as needed to them? Iam looking for a way to prevent the AI from adding jewelries to B5 ships (in order for their look to not be desroyed) without having to make all jewelries invisible (like deleting or overwriting them with an empty X-File).

in einem finalen B5 Mod sollten dann aber die Waffen und so nicht unsichtbar sein. Stattdessen sollte man wirklich alle shipcfg's modden damit keine Jewelries mehr rangehangen werden (der Computer nimmt ja nur die vorgefertigten Schiffe mit Jewelries und ändert dann nur die Waffen/Schildkonfig). dann sollte es keine Probleme mehr geben.

prinzipiell steht nichts im Wege alle Schiffe zu konvertieren. Das mit der automatischen Größenanpassung ist eines der Probleme beim modden der Modelgrößen. die größen meiner Schiffe werde ich glaube ich auch nochmal anpassen. z.B. sind die large und huge Schiffe die standardmäßig bei GC2 dabei sind ziemlich klein (bzw. nicht soviel größer als die medium und small).
