try tilting your monitor all the way back... if that doesn't do the trick, move it to the front of your desk and sit on a footstool or a big dictionary and look up at it for a greater effect. Low tech solutions to modern gaming eh? I've also discovered that if your mouse does not

Something that's been bugging me since beta 1 is the range of camera angles availiable. You can rotate between a 90 degree top down view to what seems to be roughly a 45 degree isometric angle. I want to be able to get a shallower view so I can see further into the 'distance' looking more along the map plane. The current angle feels restrictive and quite often I want to be able to see that bit further without zooming out to the tactical mode. Would anyone else agree? Disagree? Is
Didn't GC/OS2 have a nine planet limit? The limit of 5 was understandable in GC1, but it doesn't look like that same reason applies to GC2. In the 3d engine, you have to fit each planets model in the orbit of the sun, the more planets you have the more cramped it gets, it would look ridiculous if they were touching. To get more planets in you'
Link The confirmed info says: If you preorder now, you will not get access to Beta 3. You will get access to Beta 4 which is due out late October. And as beta 4 will be pretty much feature-complete it should be much more interesting than Beta 3! (Beta 3 is looking good but is missing several key features like fleets, diplomacy, textures and most of the tech tree/hulls/modul
I still think stopping all production is harsh, I'd like the final world to have some hope of breaking the blockade. Odds are they're going down anyway, but there's hope! As you say Ewan, if you built a couple of cheap, fast, long range ships you could theoretically blockade opposition AI in the very early game and knock out one or two civs very easily, if planetary production halted completely anyway. That would be cheese factor. I'm all for cutting off offworld food/tra
The crashing like crazy is probably a stability bug. Are you running SmartException to log and report the crashes? Take a look at this if you haven't already. Link
It's a sticky,.... It wasn't when I bumped it How do I GET the beta...yes, I've purchased the game...check! Have you downloa
Remember that morale isn't really implemented yet, but it will be. Lowa11, are you aware that this exact concept was discussed months ago? If not I'm amazed that you hit on the exact same thing! It's something I'd love to see done, I have no idea if its likely or not. Edit: found the old thread Link
More and more people are starting to post unrelated things in bug report threads, so it sounds like alot of people haven't read Stardock's thread about bug reports. Follow the link below for the official thread. Link If you are raising a new point remember to start a new and clearly named thread, otherwise your comments will be hard to find for Stardock staff to read and refer to. With the sheer volum

What about racial awards? Completed 5 games as Drengin, Drengin 2nd Lieutenant rank awarded.
thanx frogboy. i think it might be a bit funny, i saw an Altarian Flagship very early on that was 2Beam/2Missile/2Mass and 2Armour/2Shield/2Chaff and i was still making musket balls....... "ah ha! fear my flint axe! Oh....I see you have a phased modulation plasma projector with the quantum monofilament capacitor. Yeah, I'll surrender now please
Diplomacy isn't finished yet so I wouldn't worry about the messages.
I uspect the AI is starting with more tech than us atm so can do much more. Balancing will come.
Not all of the tech tree is in, and not all of the techs are implemented. And not all of the standard designs are in the beta yet. No worries, but well spotted about the duplicated text.
Why angry? Be positive man! I'm with you on negative picks, adds alot more variation to play if you can cripple yourself. P.S. Why are people calling suggestions threads complaints?
Its a nice idea, I like it. Also the graphics would very likely remain the same in GC2 due to custom ship design. My ships can now be totally unique with weird and ridiculous configurations, so the design couldn't practically change if I traded the ship. I'd love to be threatened by the Altarians for supplying arms to their nemesis the Korx.
So would they form a new minor race until you can play them with enough chamagne at Embassy soirees to convince them to join you?
Cari_Elf has been working on the problem for me today and managed to fix it. Here's the workaround until it gets patched. Try clearing out My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\temp, as well as any .shipclass files and the files in Data\ShipConfig with _UD_ in the name. PC, did you by any chance upgrade a template s
Lack of diplomacy between the human and AI makes the game reaaaaally hard. Perhaps you should consider this as a possible feature for advanced players? Seriously. Diplomacy is coming it just isn't finished yet. Same goes for the tech tree, it's not quite finished.
Good call. I've done that a couple of times and its irritating.
If you haven't tried this yet, it may help: use the slider control on the ship designer screen to resize components before you add them to the ship. You know, I was wondering what that was for at 2am last night.
I have reinstalled and updated my graphics drivers, but I am still getting a CTD on startup. Emailed another exception report.
It came up on irc last night just before he went home to crash.
Actually I just left the spending sliders alone and cranked up my tax rate to pay for colony ships. Didn't change government spending though. Does a high tax rate eat into research efficiency?
