I don't know how to customize the sizes, but if you wanted the star/planet/ship size ratio to be reasonably close to realistic then the stars could take up the entire screen and the ships would still be too small to see. https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=164&AID=79448

I imagine it'd be quite a bit of work to get everything to fit into 640x480, or even 800x600. And the work would hardly be justified, since almost no one would use that resolution (even you indicated that your monitor can support the minimum resolution). So, that answers your question of why it's not supported.
Future Guy, I don't know of anybody who's condensed the story into an easy-to-read format, but every file in the campaigns directory is readable in Notepad, and the scenerio files contain all the text of the story.
I picked the Yor, since we all know what happens when you form an alliance with the main bad guy. But the Arceans seem like nothing more than a proud and mighty empire there for the Drengin to conquer, so now I think they're actually more likely to get the ax. On the other hand, we know what happens to the guy we thought was the bad guy when the real bad guy shows up, so maybe it's the Drengin whose days are numbered. Plus they were the clear winners in the last campaign, so poetic law
It would increase loading time too much if I had to go through the definitions as they were loaded and decide if they were legitimate for metaverse games, and would be a lot of work to get it to work well. I've never seen your code or even the data files, but it doesn't seem like it would take too much time to ask the question "is this j
Wouldn't a human player do the same? When I was loosing in a "fictional" multiplayer game - I would give my ast colonies to somebody else as well. Isn't a human player's tendency to bail out on a game when they're losing one of the stated reasons most people in this forum wouldn't use multiplayer, though?
Personally I'd have liked for there to be a mini-expansion with new ship parts, so I could opt out of paying for that part and still get the real expansion. Unfortunately my interests run counter to Stardock's in this case.
I'd say yes, it should, but I don't care about it enough to make the developers search through the code for every place it casts something to an int and change it. But I wouldn't mind if they were going through the code anyway and changed that wherever they saw it.
Is auto-focus the new option whose description is "String not found"? I thought it was gone from the latest version, and I really missed it. I'm glad to know it was just hiding.
I don't have a reference to cite, but I'm pretty sure Brad's said that as long as both copies weren't being played at the same time it was cool. I think we're on the honor system as far as enforcement, though. (Another example of Stardock treating their customers like customers instead of thieves.)
That could excuse the "mite" (even a spell checker wouldn't notice that error, since "mite" is a word), but "sum1" and "u" aren't the kind of errors you make because you don't speak English very well. IMO, the "Die, die, die" response is completely justified.
If included in the expansion I would willingly pay full game price for it. As you should, because it would be a completely different game at that point. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a new game from Stard
How do you guys feel about co-op programs? Meaning, you take a bright young college student, maybe a year or so from graduation, and hire him for six months at significantly less than you would pay someone with a degree. Then afterwards he goes back to school, and you say "Good luck with your classes," and if he was good you can add "Call us next year when you graduate and we'll probably have a job for you," or if he's not you can turn to your collea
https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Population The population doesn't fall back down to the PQ limit if you stuff more people on the planet, but it won't grow if it's over the limit.
Your ships still have the basic Hyperdrive engines that the humans invented. If they didn't, they would take thousands of years to reach the other civilizations' planets. The size of the squares on the map account for the folding of space that the hyperdrive achieves.
Are you sure the mini-freighter was in the area where the two starbase effects overlapped? You can also press the B button on your keyboard to [b]uild a starbase.
Yes, you still get to use them yourself. You're wrong; they last the rest of the game. I think you found a bug with disbanding the colony and keeping the trade good. I'm not sure how that should work.
I'm playing that campaign mission where you have to capture the planet Charon. It's currently held by the Dread Lords, and for some reason that completely baffles me I can't attack it. I have a fleet sitting there ready to take out the ships in orbit, but trying to attack the planet does nothing, just like if there were no ships in orbit. But there are ships in orbit, so I can't move a transport in either. I'm assuming this is a bug, though I guess
Love that dialog.

Is it too late to make a suggestion for scoring in the Metaverse? I never liked the fact that submitting a game could sometimes bring your score down. This happened because every score in a 30 day block was devalued based on how many games you played in that block. How about instead of doing it like that, just devalue the later games in the block based on how many games came before them? That way the law of diminishing returns is still in
If you have the CD, you don't even need to enter the serial number to install the game. You only need it to submit scores to the metaverse and download the bonus pack and such. If your computer dies and you lose the CD and you need to re-download the entire game, you'll need to have registered your serial number for that as well.
Hm. I was under the impression that the Strategy First fiasco ate up most if not all of the profits, since they only got paid for copies purchased directly from their website. Or maybe it was AP financing GC2? I forget... Frogboy, how about posting a detailed report of all your company's financial data? How about we include "tactical" combat, but limit it to what the game mechanics currently allow? The AI stil
I think making money is one of the major goals of GalCiv. They just haven't managed to do it yet. I'd actually never heard of MoO until I heard it discussed in the GalCiv forums, but yeah, GalCiv is basically a Civ game (obviously). I don't see how they've managed to not get accused of a trademark violation.
