Why no 640x800?

I have a small 640x800 base moniter, do you plan on adding support for it soon? It's a little anoying to change my screen res before playing. It almost cancels out not needing the CD.

Because almost nobody will be playing as such a resolution? Their UI requires a minimum and 640x480 is under it.

The minimum resolution to play GalCiv II is 1024x768. We have no plans on modifying it.

Well... if someone wants to make a new GUI with the coming 1.2 version that will support 640x480, then it COULD be done. But Stardock made it so you can't go below 1024x768 in the in-game options because the GUI that was made for GalCiv2 was optimized for 1024x768 and above. However, someone could make a new GUI that could work for 640x480 or 800x600 and then you'll have to edit the GalCiv2 settings.ini file to set it to that resolution...

If he has a computer that can RUN Galciv 2 hes in a location where he can get a monitor that can run that high.

I imagine it'd be quite a bit of work to get everything to fit into 640x480, or even 800x600. And the work would hardly be justified, since almost no one would use that resolution (even you indicated that your monitor can support the minimum resolution). So, that answers your question of why it's not supported.

Not too old to get a paper round and save up.

You can get a 19in lcd about $200 new.

I'm 15, and I could get a moniter in about 4-5 weeks at that price (but I don't know what paper rounds in idaho pay, so meh).

And since you don't NEED a new moniter to play, whats the problem? How many people who have gc2 are on moniters that can't support it at all? I'm going to take a wild stab at "extremely few".

Ooops I meant 800x600 and I know I could get a better monitor if I saved for one but I need to try to keep the comp itself a little up to date too.
