It would be nice to redo the planetary build screen to separate the different types of buildings. For example: have a farms tab, a lab tab, a production tab, a morale tab, a trade good tab, and a super project tab. You could set it up like the Explorer in windows, by having them set up similar to how they are with the most advanced building available showing and a plus sign next to it if you want to expand it and pick a lower building (Because it would be faster to build.) It would be like this:

Let us put in normal Builds AHEAD of Upgrades that are AUTOMATICALLY built. I am really tired of having 3 years of UNINTERRUPTABLE UPGRADES that I must sit thru before I can do a CRITICAL new build. This can already be done by selecting the build you want and re-prioritizing it with the arrow keys above the build queue.

Isn't taking away the first shot advantage going to completely nullify the use of speed though? Sure, you can still make ships fast, but to what purpose? So they can intercept attacking fleets? Why bother? Just put all your ships at home, and put extra armor/shields on them. No need to bother with speed anymore. Speed is important for more reas

I'm sorry to hear that you got a sun burn. If it makes you feel better, I have one too. Good job on the great sales! What is a Verizon Air Card?

I was a beta tester as well, but I didn't get the crashes until the final release. I think it was something put out in the last beta, or in the release version.

sorta off topic but i think you were an evil civ. ( i normaly do neutral because i like to buy ship right of the bat) It looks like he is neutral since he has neutrality learning centers.

The Normal difficulty level is easier in 1.1 than it was in 1.0X. The devs did this because their were a lot of people who could dominate at easy, but got creamed at normal.

I've played Achillies heel 4 times now... and can't seem to win... what's the secret? I'm trading tech with my 'allies', and they all seem to have a ton of colony and transport ships built, so they always take over invaded planets, but then out come a few dredlord escorts and all my bases are shreded....no matter what I have in fleet. I've tried individual ships with 6 be

Link Here is a link to a pic of a class 45 planet that I found. Someone found a class 72 planet as well.

You may want to add the special event that increases population growth. I find that changes a game now that the population growth is so low.

They are only allowed to build a new ship design once a year. (To keep the game running quickly) Their first ship design must have been without weapons (which they will design early to keep people from attacking their planets with only troop transports), and didn't get to the second design before you attacked them. Being able to design a ship only once every 52 turns is a real disadvantage that the computer has.

I usually use these planet for my troops. Research advanced troop mods, and you should b e able to easily remove 5B citizens at a time. Removing farms will instantly kill off the population, but then you lose the ability to use the people as troops.

Since so many people complained about the way the Computer traded technology, they changed it so that it is all jacked up now. It was fine in the first version, but it is really a pain now. Oh well, I just work around it and rarely use it now - similar to how I work around the horrible diplomacy in the Civilization series. It is a pity too, because the diplomacy was what made GC1 playable for years.

The slider is a "per turn cost", that is set to a percentage of the total galactic population. As the population grows in the game so does the espianage cost. After you reach "Advanced" espiange, you can cut spending off completely, since any additional espianage spending is wasted.

I am pretty sure that this is to prevent a player from attacking a planet without any troops in their transport, without changing the ground combat code too much. It seems like an easy fix to a possible problem if they decided to let the user have empy transports launch.

I never seem to have a problem befriending Good Civilizations, except the Altarians. (I am the Drath, and there is a historical animosity between the two.) But I usually have a pretty large standing military force - even if I barely use them. I also play as Neutral. I should try the other two sometime, but I love the instant PQ bonus that Neutrality gives you. -Marty

This usually happens when the planets are in someone else’s cultural influence. The AI starts making embassies and moral boosting buildings to try to counter the influence. I don’t usually see it otherwise. If you track how the buildings were before you may see that it was built pretty well before the planet was under attack from someone else’s influence.

Drath: Populist: good. It pwns, 50% defence bonus, super charged defences, high loyalty, and a higher pop growth for you "liberation" fleets I agree, except I am in love with the neutral ethic. Since the Drath start good, I can pick a lot of evil choices and still not have to pay for the Neutral alignment.
