I haven't read through all of the replies, but I have to say that I see the same things as you. The game is far easier than the original, because the computer doesn't seem to research well, build ships well, or build planetary improvements well. I don't really mean this as a blanket statement, since it probably could do well against a specific kind of map or strategy, but I wouldn't know what it is since I don't use that strategy. I have posted one other time that it would be nice if differe

What size galaxy are you on? Check your debug.err file. Are you getting any "A Star Path" related messages? It was on a gigantic galaxy. I finished the game a while ago, but no messages would come up at all. It would just act like the ship wasn't selected at all, until I tried to make it go to a place that it "liked". I have

I had that error when I installed the game with a Stardock Central account that used a different e-mail address than I used to buy the game. Have Stardock change your Stardock Central e-mail to match that of the one you used to buy the game, and you might be alright. (This worked for me.)

These issues don't really show up. If you aren't "whoring" the techs around, the other civs aren't either. They trade, but only around once every turn, and usually only 1 race trades a tech with another race every turn. So that means that one 1 tech is changing hands every turn, if that, and that rarely changes the game much (since most techs only take 1-3 weeks to research anyway). This means that a race only gets MAYBE 1 TECH EVERY 5 TURNS at the most through "tech trading". This was a WA

The thing people don't seem to realize that want multiplayer - a single turn will take ages. A single turn for me longer in the game probably takes 2-5 minutes on average (just guessing). If you add one player, it means that you just *sit* there for 2-5 minutes after each turn - most people don't have an attention span for something that long because there is literally not

I used to see this problem. However since 1.1, I see that a lot of civs have the same weapon techs as me, since they steal them in espianage (or at least I think they did.) But I didn't have the problem of all the AI's choosing the same weapons in my last 1.1 game, they had Missiles, Mass Drivers, and Beam weapons, with missile defense, armor, and shields. It was the first time I had seen all of the races use different weapon and defense types.

Spleeze you should explan to these new people. That you do not actually model these ships, you have taken them from other games that people have freely posted IE- SFC3, etc and just converted them so they will work with the Gal Civ2 engine. Dont get me wrong i love what you r doin, but its good to put credit where credit is due I thou

3: Stardock is insane - 33% would buy it! A: What you're completely missing is the fact that 66% of the gamebase *wouldn't* buy it. Stardock is looking to find something which will be worthwhile to make and that would turn a profit... if 66% of the fan base is against something doesn't it make more sense to go with what they would want as opposed to the minority? </

I see that you have a poll that shows a full third of the people on this site would buy a MP only expansion pack for $20, but you have no idea how many people would pay $20 for a SP only expansion pack. Somehow I think it will be less than the MP only pack. I was one of the people that was glad that you made the game SP only. But that was because I liked the first game with the exception of the bad interface, graphics, and sound. (The gameplay was good though.) I figured that this

How many people actually play games like this multiplayer?? I played Heroes of Might and Magic 2 almost exclusively multiplayer. Games could take weeks to finish, but they were still fun. You just played when both of you had the time to play, then save the game, and come back and play more later.

Also give me numeric inputs for all sliders. Some of us like using the keyboard over the mouse. This is especially important in the trading window for money and influence especially when these get very high and the slider is not fine tuned enough to let me use 1001 influence points in my trade This is already available. Just click in the box

IIRC, it said 1/3 would pay $20 for a multiplayer ONLY expansion. I know that I said no, because $15 is my magic number for the value of any expansion. I can't justify that extra $5 in my head for some reason. Maybe when I am less broke.

I have this problem with some of my ships as well. In fact one of the core ships does this for me. (I believe the "missile boat")

I haven't checked v1.11 to see if the problem has been fixed yet.

Since 1.1 came out, I will have ships that will not be able to move to certain parts of the galaxy. If I move the ship one space, I will be able to move it to that area of the galaxy. I don't know wha the cause of the bug is, but what happens is when you right click on the destination, nothing will happen. You then need to right click on a destination close to the ship, then when it reaches that, go back and right click on the destination that you want it to go. I'm not sure that

I generally do 30% Military, 35% Social, and 35% research - and I have never been behind in research to any race on the "Tough" difficulty. Having a heavy social base helpls A LOT, because it alows you to build your factories and laboritories quicker, giving you more output. Also, reasearch the governement techs as early as you can, because each one of them (starting with republic) gives you a blanket 25% boost to your economy, production, and research.

Er, I like them both. I get tired of NWN quicker though, because it is the same game when I play it again. I have gone ot play different mods, but most of them aren't very well done. Some of them are well done though (Like the dreamcatcher, and shadowlords campaigns), so I have spent some time searching for those well made campaigns on NWN Vault. On a side note, Atari is coming out with a NWN 2, although I think that someone other than Bioware is making it. Also, "The Witcher" is

I have noticed one UI glitch since the 1.0D version. When I zoom in on the minimap, the influence colors will not show correctly. It gets worse the more you zoom in. This makes using the minimap on gigantic maps difficult.

I have seen these posts, but haven't been able to reproduce the bug. Maybe it is specific to the graphics card, or your driver?

I can't believe missles don't get fired from the missle launchers, lasers don't get fired out of the cannons and bullets don't come out of the guns, instead the ships just meander in circles and projectiles fly out of nowhere. I wasn't hoping for the death star trench scene, but at least some combat that looked equivalent to wing commander 2 or the like. <

Good stuff. I got your e-mail. The Dauntless and Nova that Josh showed both look sweet as well. I think that two huge ships may be enough though. Anyway, great job. It would be cool to do a Deep Space 9 starbase as well. (Probably a mod to the economy starbase, since it was a trade based station.)

I had a UI suggestion on the colony management screen shown here: Link I doubt it will get done, but I would like you to look at it so that you have another idea how to clear up the jumble that is currently in the improvement area.

Yeah. Thats annoying. If you send them manually to different areas of the galaxy, they will autoexplore in different areas for a little while, but before long they all end up going toward the same places.
