That is similar to how Europa Universalis handles surrendering.

+ If population after an invasion is less than 1, it will be set to 1 How could the population be less than 1? I know that the information invasion tactic did this, but wouldn't you have those "unhappy" citizens left for the popluation anyway?
Ofcourse, I also don't trust Securom, but there are a million other copy protection schemes that they can use.
HOMM5 was the only other game I planned on buying this year. I will not buy it SOLELY because it uses Starforce. It is not worth it to put my computer at risk just to play a game.
1.) You can download the updates on your mothers computer, and transfer them to yours to actually install. 2.) There are plenty of part time jobs you can get, and make $40 in less than a week. Try mowing lawns, unless you have been a pest to your neighbors, they will probably let you do this for some cash.
I always play loose clusters. This keeps stars close together, and the clusters aren't very far apart.
I disagree completely. You can only get technology that others have the way you are saying, so you will never have a true technological edge over everyone. It is a viable strategy to steal, or trade for all of your technology, but it is by no means to only viable strategy. I have never been so close in tech to the other races to make this viable to me. I rely on my sheer technological dominance to give me an advantage. I have only played against i
Yeah, the second thing happens to me with starbases. If I had a starbase on a resource, and I lose it in a battle, I retain the sensor view that it gave me for all time. (At least I still have them now, but no-one has built new star bases on them yet, as they are in the middle of a warzone.)
(Not easy to keep under 75% and safely get the tech victory at least for me!) Yeah, I had to go to war with someone to get my research victory before I got a cultural victory. (You cannot win a cultural victory when you are at war.)
I can usually keep the oponents from going to war with me by trading heavily with them via trade routes. This doesn't seem to work with the Drengin, if they start next to you, but it seems to work well with every other race. (The Drengin are the only race that has ever declared war on me.)
The first and biggest one is the game seems to crash every 50 saves or so. It's very annoying because it not only crashes but screws up the save file in doing so if you load that saved game it will promptly crash before even getting back into the game. And it doesn't seem to happen for any noticeable reason. I can load a ga
The life force resource was removed from GC1, because it was WAY too powerful. They didn't put it in GC2 for the same reason.
Recently, I tried to conquer a minor race (The Andians I believe) and I went to attack their defending ship on the planet, and instead of attacking, I went straight to a planetary invasion. (I had a transport in my attack fleet to escort him.) Beyond the fact that I completely got around the defenses without even a fight, I never got to choose what kind of planetary invasion tactic I was going to use. It just set me up in a traditional invasion against
I'm getting random CTD's on my system, I can't seem to find what causes it - it mainly happens around the starship design page but not always. All I get is a 'Gal Civ needs to close - tell microsoft about this problem' page there is no real indication why - also time does not seem to be a factor either. System Spec; Gal
Recently, I tried to conquer a minor race (The Andians I believe) and I went to attack their defending ship on the planet, and instead of attaking, I went straight to a planetary invasion. It just set me up in a traditional invasion again
Well, it doesn't always work, then, because I've had it not work for me. I have had the Metaverse not ask me to post the score after I finished a metaverse game. It may have just been a different bug. *I have only played two metaverse games, and the first one didn't even allow me to post the score
Not sure if the range value refers to the range from any of your colinized worlds, or just the one that it was manufactured at, as I usually play on small sized maps. But I believe it's the former, although, for some modifiers, the ships do keep track of where they were made... Range refers to the dis
Oh yeah, I wanted to say that I like the change too. It does not give much additional power to the smaller ships at all, but it gives them some with extra logistics. (Which I also felt was needed.)
Well everyone is being very negative. I think this is an awesome change, I'm very pleased with it. Personally I've never bothered building tiny or small ships, because they're just hopelessly underpowered compared to the larger ships. I think that'll still be the case, but less so, and that's definitely a good thing! Go Brad! </T
I have this problem as well. It will come back from time to time even after doing what they said above, but when it does I just need to reboot, and it works again.
there can be no starbase within 3 parsecs of any other starbases WITHIN the same sector Cool. I didn't know that... I will have to use that in my current game.
My favorite line so far was the Drengin declaring war on me: "All your base are belong to us." Of course I mopped the floor with him, as he completely underestimated my power. (this was on Intellegent though.)
factory isn't used only for military. It is also used for social production. So you should put one factory and put some research labs This is what i do as well. Influence bases don't work too well, because the base influence is from the population, and as you said, they can't support a large popula
Does it use Starforce? I heard a rumor that it does. If not, then I definitely want to pick it up.
