Now that I've played a few games with all 7 races at Incredible, I figured I'd start a new disussion.
How do you get the 7 races to appear, or play against? Sorry for trivial question but I have been away for quite a while, and this is all a new Ball Game for me now. Looks much more challenging too :HOT: I had a quick look around but at least the 1.19 enhancements do not appear to be much documented yet? Or maybe I am missing some round(s) before t

Yes good point, after the first critical years I tend to do the same. Relax time, let off the controls. :D
OK, my contribution is never underestimate what micro management can do for you. Yes, its tedious, tough and hard work, with the UI as it is now, but it can also make or break your Maso game. Thats one reason its called Maso too, no doubt. ;p By MICRO, I mean things like maximizing AND optimizing your spending patterns. Adjust the top sliders so that your overall spending is showing the maximum possible value. Initially, 100% morale is good too, especially if you are colonizing a lot
Do they buy TGs from one another?
Good question, and I am tempted to think so, since later on in the game they seem to be catching up with us on Diplomacy. However, they start with great bonuses too, and so if they eventually work up the Adv Diplomacy, Instant Comms, Alliance, etc, too, then maybe that is already enough to level it. I havent spotted the proof in debug.err yet either! ~SDC~
I had similar problems with the Governor sliders. If you put too many projects in there, the list starts behaving funny, and you basically have to reset and re-create it from scratch. Anyway, the Governor idea itself is great, but because the UI behaves quirky in places, and how it sometimes does things you didnt want, I for one havent been able really to trust and use it. By the way RE DOCUMENTATION, or the UI even. It would be great to mention in big letters that if you change projec
Wondering if closer links and ties could evolve between the Metaverse and the game itself. As starters, would be fascinating to have guest appearances from the most powerful empires and players in the game too. Imagine spotting G.R.O.S.S. or Ray the Wanderer somewhere in your galaxy, in one form or the other. What I'm thinking as the first step is just having leaders/planets/ships named after some of these famous players. Then, perhaps some kind of alternated behaviour and more dynami
I would disagree with the above post: you should definitely build an entertainment network and a few other cheap morale boosters as well
Does it pay anything for those planets already pegged at 100% morale though? I tend to build Ent Network for the lower class planets only for starters. Our PQ21's and above will get it usually much later when their higher pop makes them drop behind and exhibit those unpleasant signs of discomfort (:sniff!::VOMIT:>:( (:( :( :notsure:).
Ah - what I really meant was buying it from the Minors. Yes it is often them who reach it first. Here's our steps for the early research: 1. Rush for Diplomacy 2. Research all the low hanging non-military tech until the DTTG message pops out. BEC, ZGR, IR, and the Nanos are all great picks. 3. Secure that DTTG from the Minor (or even AI) during the turn when it surfaces. It was not added to their negotiation strength immediately. If you played it right, you should now be
I meant it didnt finish that turn. Usually the estimate is much better after reload though. However, later on, even that is not accurate any longer. Also, in genral this behaviour happens more and more later on in the game. At the start its all very accurate still. I can provide a list of the usual funny ones if needed. The one tech that does not seem to have announcement is Xeno Propaganda.
Cool - I'll be in touch soon :)
Cranking up some tiny Maso submissions, in the hopes it will keep us afloat a little longer near the top crowds. While waiting for the expansion pack, how about the ultimate "Paperweight on the Enter key" strategy that would allow finishing the game much faster though - and easier. Spending too much time adjusting every single slider right now. Yes, it works well and is effective, but it takes so long "real" play time too. Now wondering if there is a way to take the playing to
Hall of Fame would be cool. With this arrangement in place, we would be recognising both the new talent and the Household Names ;-). A true win-win for all. [Message Edited]
Option that would allowing blocking the Turn if we gonna go bust (below -500bc). I guess its no big deal but we hate it when it happens :sniff!: :VOMIT: :sniff!: Similar to the "block Turn if there are ship movements left" option. [Message Edited]
Here's the odd one out. I set my sliders so that some research should pop out next turn. Save, click Turn. Sometimes the Tech does not come thru. OK, I reload, up the research slider little higher, hit Turn. Sometimes this sequence of steps hangs the game (no CTD, just hang). [Message Edited]
In my recent games we have avoided all tech trades with the AIs until the Diplo TG is in our hands. That allows for the "incredible advantage" when you know you got them good by their throats. A level deal is sometimes OK but generally to be avoided. The other key trick, like Ray said, is to trade techs from one partner to another. Keep your own research reserved for very special occasions when nothing else on the table will do any longer. All the AI is following a fairly similar and military
Thats rock on Cotal. I for one has been asking bucket loads of things here - with the distant hope that one day, one of them, perhaps and with some great luck of course, would even see the light of the day. WHOA - What a great thing that would be :D :D :D At the same time I realise the chances must be about 0.001% though. Like you, I wouldnt like to take one minute away of the critical time those guys are putting in to enhance this product. Yeah, asking is cheap!! Whats more, this
Wonderful submission and walkthru. This kind of stuff is newbie must read material. Congrats EBZeroMatrix and good luck on your way to Veteran status ;p ~SDC~
To promote smaller and younger empires, we also need to highlight the Fastest Climbers this Week. Counting the Top Empires by the last 30day performance could also be interesting. After all, there is the Season Start end Season End in all sports isnt it. Any other empire level improvement suggestions most welcome here too. [Message Edited]
Do we have a power hit in Europe too:SURPRISED: LOL ? But the fact is our secret bunker coolfreepage is way too slow to access. http://europe.coolfreepage.com/forums/index.php Anybody got some real bandwidth to share? ~SDC~
My suggestion is to highlight the fastest climbers and new teams on weekly or monthly basis. There could be a separate score for games of the last month only too. I'll post to that Metaverse thread and maybe the thought does not get lost so easily. ~SDC~
Good question....I'm not at all sure what exactly makes the AI tick in peace negotiations. There is surely a connection to military strength, and apparently to past wars (blocking continuous milking), but other things like your morality seem to play a role also. However, I dont think it goes directly down to star system or capital level. Capturing a capital is always desirable though....thats usually their most productive system so its a big hit. If the impact is not direct, then indirectly yo
Gerakken - much appreciated. What a great team player!! Nighty night and have another cuppa for me too :d ~SDC~
Some kind of network lag going on still, the blaster or that power grid hit still slowing things down. So thats why my extra postings, very sorry about that. My next tactic will be trying to establish a fast path to Maso victory. This is an awesome well balanced game and there does not seem to be any major shortcuts out there, but still....maybe still a reasonably fast method for clocking out a couple submissions per day can be established, even at the Maso level ;) Right now looking very promi
Alright, no worries. Maybe there's not enough common things to talk about - we are simply such a diverse crowd?! More unity and background is required. Bring on the old myths and stories. Some kind of rally and call to arms would sure be nice though. We seem to have a large and competent member base so building on from that could eventually produce a much higher ranking :d ~SDC~
