What is the difference then between new and all? I was hoping that the queue would be automatic, say, for new planets without having to turn it on.

I've been playing DA for a long time and just started TA. I've been waiting for planetary build queues for a long time. Can't figure how to get it working. This is how I start. On the planetary governor screen, I give a name to the queue on the left side. Then I double click on building. Say, three factories. They show up on the right. I click on either "new" or "all." What I am expecting is that when I land on a new planet, the queue
I like the screen shots. What is not clear to me is how much of the 2.0 release is just in TA? Do the changes show up in DA and DL?
I don't know if this covers DA but is the bug fixed where late in the game in big galaxies, new ship icons don't show up at the beginning of the turn. You can only launch by finding planets with new ships. Restarting the game fixes the problem temporarily for future turns but not for current turn.
I think it definitely has to do with the style of games--the size of the universe and the number of ships. I don't see it at the beginning of the game. Only when the number of planets and the number of ships gets very large. Only on the two largest galaxies. The problem once it starts doesn't go away by itself. I have to save and restart, look for my built ships, and then inevitably the next turn shows new ships--but only for that turn. I sometimes wi
In DA no green arrow shows up since there are no new ship icons. Even though there are new ships. I have to hunt for them with much effort. Hopefully this bug will be fixed with the new update. Glad to hear there is a different way in the new game.
I know there are icons for new ships at the beginning of a turn. At least there is supposed to be. However, in really big galaxies and late in the game, the new ship icons often don't show up. There is no launch ship icon to punch on either. I am wondering if there is another way to launch all ships into orbit, say, by the keyboard that actually works. I get tired of looking for my new ships when I have several hundred planets.
Seems to happen on really big galaxies near the end of the game. I have so many planets that I know many new ships should show up. Very annoying. Restarting temporarily fixes it though you still do not know the new ships from the last new turn. You can go looking for them. Very time consuming. Then in a few turns it does it again.
I don't have a clue from the email. There is virtually no text. Clicking to websites gives no information that I can tell on what it is. I guess if it was a big deal Brad would touting it on the home page if not elsewhere. Basically, no clue.
I get an email today about Galciv Empire. I click and I don't know what I am looking at. Is it a new way to record scores? A new game? What?
Playing a huge galaxy using DA 1.80g. As I am getting into the end of the game, every 3 or 4 turns, when the turn starts, it shows where I need to do construction but no new ships. There are new ships if I hunt endlessly for them, but I have no easy way to launch them. I can fix this temporarily by saving and reloading. The next turn, the newships show up (but not for the previous turn). On some planets, I get a backlog of ships not launched which I see later.<
I guess this is new in TA. From just starting the game, even w/ abundant planets set high, it seems that there are fewer of them. But I would like to hear your experience on that. I've just started.
I am not looking at the absolute last version of the game (I will when I get home), but it is not in slightly earlier versions of the game. It would be nice to have a colonizable sort, though I would still like to the uninhabited planet list to show their type.
It would not be really nice, REALLY NICE, if the uninhabited planet list showed at a glance not only its PQ but also whether it was generally inhabitable or was of a certain type: i.e., radioactive, toxic, aquatic, barren, HG. Right now whether I have the tech or not, when I look at the uninhabited list, I have to click on it to see what type it is. Maybe in the uninhabited colony list, the little pic would show what type it is. Or put an R, T, A, B, of H in the corner of the
Even though I play neutral, since most captured planets are an economic drag, I tend to destroy them (unless I really like what is left). The reason to destroy them is that they have small populations and they can be easily retaken by the enemy. This may not be optimal in a really long game where the sides are about equal. But if I have a large lead, I want to get it over with. I have been playing the enemy ai at gifted but I may have to ratchet that up. I find that with gifted the
How are other people feeling about the money issue? Lowering costs 1% doesn't seem like much. A lot of complaining about the economic issues in the game. How is it now? I am not going to start playing the beta if I spend all my time worrying about money. Regardless I will start playing when it comes out of beta.
I've read earlier that the later betas of TA are very difficult to have a decent number of ships and a decent economy. Is it still that way?
I'd like the uninhabited sort list (from left side colony button) to show what type of planet it is (reg, toxic, radioactive, etc) without having to click on it. When you are colonizing, you obviously want to go to a planet that you have the ability to colonize.
I have had numberous emails to Cari--some with smartexception reports--some with just a text message (telling her I couldn't get email through)--rejected. And it appears that the Stardock server was rejecting it as spam. I finally got one smartexception through by sending it to [email protected] rather than the email address suggested by the smartexception program: [email protected].
I think I have had two smartexception reports rejected. Might be Stardock server. Curiously I had a much bigger saved game (requested by Cari) that looks like it got through.
Do they ever want saved games? I sent in a smartexception report.
Earlier, as reported, I was playing a game under 1.80f. Late in the game I upgraded to 1.80g. Then started getting crashing. Some suggested it was a problem in moving the saved game from one version to another. So I started a new game 1.80g. Played it for 5-6 hours with no crashes. Then deep into the game, it started crashing every turn. Whenever the turn would start, I would hit a planet icon on the right to update production. Immediately it would crash. 4 times in a
I started this stinky thread saying that I could not use a saved game from 1.80f and move it to 1.80g without it crashing within a turn or so. (I have to admit the original game was set up on 1.61. That was just to create the map. After set up, I moved it to 1.80f. I like the map features 1.61 in terms of inhabitable planets). I tried all kinds of things to make it work: updated drivers, reinstalled it from scratch, etc. No luck. BUT...I started a game with 1.80g and
Another crash report from me after I updated my ATI X300 driver. Sent a smartexception report. This time the debug.err is a little more informative.
